we came here on our honeymoon for a quiet break just what was needed after our wedding everything was perfect from check in to check out they did not know we had just married and to our surprise an hour later was a bottle of prossecco and a card on the door step a lovely touch perfect location especially if you have a dog we will definitely be returning very soon idyllic

A wonderful warm welcome awaits in this picturesque corner of wales. Beautiful rolling countryside and utter peaceful surroundings. A lovely break away from it all where nothing is too much trouble for the host to ensure you have a great stay!

We had a fantastic stay for 2 nights at Mabel Cottage. Debbie was on hand to greet us immediately upon arrival and she talked us through all of the relevant instructions for the hot tub etc. Very friendly and approachable and made it clear she was just over the way if we needed something. The barn was spotless and had all the amenities we needed. Towels were provided for the bathroom and the hot tub and we had a relaxing time. The wood fired hot tub was great......we spent about 2+ hours in there on our 2nd night. We also made use of the BBQ under the covered area (needed in the Welsh rain). The local area is stunning and there are lots of dry and wet weather things to do within the Brecons area. Revisiting the Waterfalls was a highlight ......you do need to be energetic as described as some steep gradients and uneven steps/ground! All in all we had a fantastic time at Mabel and would definitely stay again!

Great cottage! Beautiful conversion. Nice and peaceful. Perfect for a chilled and romantic getaway. Loved the little detailed booklet provided which had details on how to use the amenities in the cottage and the details on local areas and places to visit. Very thoughtful! Would definitely recommend.

Beautiful location in rural West Wales. The online handbook was extensive and made planning our week super easy. The cottage has everything you need for a quiet retreat, with extras that gave it that luxury feeling. It made a great base for exploring the area, but is also a comfy escape if you just feel like staying in. Host was friendly and responsive to requests. Would love to stay again.

We loved our stay at river cottage! It was so peaceful and the house was so cosy. We loved watching the sheep (from the comfort of the sofa) drinking from the river in the mornings. Angela was a great host and quick to respond to any messages. We walked round Hafren forest which was lovely (about 30-40 mins drive away) and climbed Snowdon (a 2 hour drive away). Also had a great Chinese from the village in Llanidloes. All in all, would recommend for a tranquil escape to the country.

Had an amazing time! Hosts were fantastic, gave great instructions for the fire, kitchen appliances and hot tub. Our dog absolutely loved the private field and we got to see the amazing sunset and stars from the top of the hill - Thank you! We loved our stay and the gifts were a lovely suprise 10/10

Easy check in, friendly hosts. Appreciated the cottage being clean and warm when we arrived. Hot tub was easy to use and hot-no wait time, thank you. An extra step in would have been useful. Kitchen was great The whole cottage had everything we needed plus a friendly cat. The peaceful surroundings were very much enjoyed, it couldn’t be anymore peaceful and with that which wasn’t a problem for us meant it was remote so glad we had most of what we needed already with us The eggs, milk and welsh cakes left for us was very helpful thank you We enjoyed our stay thank you

5 stars for the host and the property are not enough. the house is super clean, well equipped, even an air fryer is available, clean bedding, comfortable furniture, wonderful style of the house, wonderful and quiet location, ideal to relax from the city. the host... super nice, friendly and helpful person. because we arrived quite late he recommended us a place where we can eat dinner. which saved us time searching and calling, perfect communication, always responds to messages quickly. I think that the fact that we will definitely come back to this place says enough about the host and the place. I am glad that we got there. Big thank you for host.

A beautiful position up on the hillside with a stunning view Lovely, well equipped cottage with plenty of space for a family of four. Definitely recommend!

We stayed for a long weekend at Alboro Castle. It was beautiful and such an interesting place. Peter was there to meet us and immediately made us feel at home. Tracy had left freshly picked flowers which were just lovely. The cottage is extremely cosy and there is everything we needed including lots of logs for the burner. We cooked a couple of meals on the bbq and enjoyed the evening sun in the garden. We can recommend the Ferry Inn for food. Thank you for a perfect stay.

Perfect weekend! This is an amazing place to stay - so much thought has gone into the interior and the cottage has everything for a relaxing few days. We were fortunate with the weather and loved exploring local beaches and walking some of the coast path. Would highly reccomend.

We had a fantastic week at Aberdar. The weather was amazing all week, so we spent our time outside enjoying the garden, orchard and stream, and sitting at the various seating areas to avoid the wind if it got too strong. We only made 3 trips away from Aberdar.. a stunning part of Wales and it was hard to put the camera down. A pleasure to drive on the pothole free roads and we hardly saw anyone apart from friendly farmers. Our anxious rescue dog was very happy enjoying the space and he was relaxed all week, as were we. Aberdar has it all.. very clean and homely, very well equipped with everything we needed, useful information file provided for guests, beautiful views and loved hearing the sheep, cows and stream. If you are tall, remember to duck when going through the doorways.. we kept forgetting! This was a very special trip for us and we will be returning!

We stayed here for 4 nights and didn’t want to leave. It was the first time we went away as a couple with our 3 dogs (2 Sprockers and 1 Labrador), the location, welcome hamper and dog toys were a lovely gesture. If you have dogs Poppit Sands is a must. The dogs loved every minute, as did we. The cottage is stunning and everything has been thought of by the hosts. We wouldn’t hesitate in booking here again. The cottage was brilliant and had everything you would need. The tea and coffee selection was a lovely touch. The conservatory was the perfect place for a glass of wine and board game in the evening. The cottage was immaculate and we would definitely stay again. It was a very peaceful stay !!

Stunning location, beautifully presented, aesthetically pleasing, pristine and elegant. Would like to have stayed longer, all very positive …but having to fulfil the owners list of chores within an early exit requirement, 10am, felt rather a squeeze.

Had an amazing stay in the cottage. was perfect for waking up to amazing sea views, dolphin spotting and walking to the beach. The cottage was beautiful with everything you would need and we loved early evening drinks on the terrace. Thank you and we will be back I'm sure x

The cottage is extremely lovely and the location is beautiful. We can't thank Eleanor and Jack enough for the effort and attention detail to make our holiday very delightful indeed. Jack spent a long time chatting to us about the farm and it was much appreciated. It is stunning.

I stayed at this lovely little cottage for a peaceful getaway and it honestly exceeded my expectations. The place is super cosy, especially with the log burner going. It's perfect for relaxing evenings. The hot tub was a real highlight too. The views from the cottage are beautiful and the whole area is so quiet and calming. It really feels like you're tucked away from the world. The place was clean, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Would definitely recommend it to couples or anyone looking for a quiet escape in nature.

We had a wonderful stay! The pictures don't do this place justice, it's a paradise. There were thoughtful touches throught, we can't thank you enough for the basket of snacks! The area was so private and peaceful. The hosts greeted us in person and were so kind. The bed was extremely comfy and the house was stocked with everything you needed. We will definitely be back!

We can't recommend this home enough, and we will 100% be coming back! It is such a beautiful home in an even more beautiful location, Louise was so helpful, and gave us so many perfect recommendations with shops and restaurants, the home is so well decorated and loved. We had a perfect trip away with something to do around every corner, the sunset was always fantastic, and watching the stars from the garden was such a fantastic experience, a truly wonderful and unforgettable stay that we will fondly remember, already planning on brining the in-laws with us next time! Thank you for letting us stay in your lovely cottage and for being so accommodating when our weekend away didn't quite get off to the start we'd hoped. The cottage waa very clean and tidy and had everything we needed for a very relaxing weekend. I woulg highly recommend staying here and would love to visit again soon.

The cottage was absolutely stunning. Spotlessly clean with everything we needed for a short break. The garden was beautifully maintained and the hot tub was the main attraction. Would absolutely recommend, the kids are already asking to go back.

Myself and 2 friends stayed for the bank holiday and had the most relaxing time. Cottage was homely and a great base. What stood out for us was the exceptional views, right on the coastline. We spent every evening sat on the deck watching the sunset over the sea. Just beautiful! There is a train that runs past the house. It doesn't run particularly regulary but may be something to note for light sleepers.
