Cob Cottage

Channel the pursuit of pause in this one-of-a-kind earth house. The cozy retreat was hand-sculpted using local and sustainable natural materials, and features a central living space with cantilevered slab stairs leading to the loft bedroom. Guests have access to the entire cottage and surrounding property. We live in the neighbouring house, and are happy to give advice or answer questions to help you make the most of your stay. The neighborhood is quite rural and mostly agricultural with several farms and a small private vineyard. The home is a 10 minute walk from the beach and a 20 minute walk from a family grocery and deli specializing in local organic produce. Mayne Island has a small community bus. Times and routes are limited, particularly in the winter. It will stop at the driveway. We also have an official hitch hiking system with signed Car Stops where you can wait for a ride. Usually you don't have to wait long. We are happy to offer pickup and drop off at the ferry dock as a courtesy to encourage car-free travellers, on days when the community bus is not running. Please let us know ahead of time that you'll be coming without your own transportation, and we will make sure that either we or the community bus (which will drop you off at our driveway) are there to meet you when your ferry arrives. The BC Ferries terminals near Victoria and Vancouver are easily reachable via public transit from their respective airports and downtowns.

Sky Valley Studio with ocean view.

Welcome to our bright new studio space. Come and enjoy this unique and tranquil getaway looking over the ocean to a stunning view of Mount Baker. The suite is self -contained with a private entrance and deck. This is a wonderful location for discovering the many things the island has to offer including markets, vineyards, brewery, galleries, studio tour, dining, hiking and kayaking. We offer complimentary coffee, tea and a few special island treats . We are here to make your stay special.

Water Front One Bedroom Suite with view and beach

A beautiful one bedroom suite, amongst the trees with stunning views down the harbour to Ganges. All rooms overlook the water. There are stairs to the private entrance, and also from the deck outside the suite to the dock, beach and boat house. Large open plan dining/lounge area, with an American Leather (extremely comfortable) sofa bed and mini kitchen. The bedroom has a Queen bed, two night stands and a dresser. Three piece bathroom. House is newly built and has a lot of character.

Best Beach Soaker Tub Studio - Suite #1

Comfortable and warm garden studio a 3 minute walk to the best beach on Salt Spring,a 10 minute drive to Ganges and a short walk to a beautiful forested area. Stylish furnishings, soaker bathtub and Netflix on the TV, makes this the perfect base for your island adventure. It has its own private entrance and covered patio. The suite is in a house where the host family lives, so guests may hear occasional footsteps. Paddle board rentals available and I transport to beach or lake for you.

We had such a lovely stay at Dal’s place! The king sized bed was extremely comfortable as were the pillows. The shower had great water pressure, which is always a plus, and the whole suite was clean, cozy, and welcoming. The outdoor seating area was a definite highlight. We spent time enjoying the sunshine while watching deer graze nearby, with a charming peek-a-boo view of the ocean in the distance — so peaceful and serene. Location-wise, it couldn’t be better. It’s just a short walk to the Saturday market and local shops, yet far enough away that it still feels quiet and private. We felt extremely safe the entire time, which made it all the more relaxing. Dal was also a good host, offering helpful local recommendations that we really appreciated. Would absolutely stay again!

Highly recommend this location. Gary and Annamarie were so welcoming! Great hosts. Lovely property, relaxing and beautiful views looking out on the water. Garden suite was quiet and peaceful, right next to the lovely garden. The amenities were a great bonus (hot tub, sauna, ice plunge and kayaking), used them throughout our stay. The home cooked breakfast was so delicious, fresh ingredients.Definitely going to miss having those everyday 😊. Especially the scones. Would stay here again. Thank you again for having us. This a great place to sleep and shower. Excellent facilities and quiet. The hosts are also fantastic: friendly and very helpful. The only downside is that there is no view and no convenient pedestrian access to the water. You really need a bike or car to make it work.

I highly recommend anyone who visits the area to stay at Jo’s place! We spent 3 nights which included a weekend there as our first experience to Salt Spring Island. Jo’s place is very beautiful and it provides everything you need. The home made breakfast is just one of the many things we enjoyed, along with the gorgeous backyard and the beach which is within walking distance.
