The Retreat @ Solway House is a cosy 1-bed annex tucked away in our garden in the peaceful hamlet of Rigg, just 1 mile from Gretna Green. Our semi rural location is only a 3 mile drive from the M6/and just off the A75, the perfect stop over to break up any car journey, we provide parking for one car on our driveway. The Annex is a self-contained tiny home with its own private entrance, featuring a double bed, log burner, cosy sofa area, shower room, and a fully equipped kitchen/dining area.

Situated in a rural location with amazing walks on your doorstep. Our local town amenities are within a 2mile walk or 5minute drive. There are many tourist attractions near by that can either be reached by car, bus or train. This accommodation offers something for everybody.

Hadrian's Hideaway - an ideal stop for travellers

A cosy annexe just off the Hadrian's Wall path in the city of Carlisle. Whether you wish to use nearby eateries or make yourself something in the kitchenette (microwave, fridge, hotplate, kettle and toaster provided) we welcome those who wish for a place to stay. A double bed and en suite shower awaits in fresh comfortable surroundings. Open to all travellers but please be aware of access arrangements to the property -access up a lane. Free on street parking is available nearby (100m approx)

Gable Cottage is a recently renovated 2 Bedroom property in the village of Rockcliffe, 5 miles north of Carlisle, and 6 miles South of Gretna Green. The cottage enjoys views over the River Eden and the Solway Firth, providing easy access to the Cumbrian Countryside, historic Carlisle, Hadrian's wall, and the Northern Lakes. Rockcliffe's village pub, the Crown & Thistle offers a traditional Cumbrian welcome with excellent local food. The village is on the Reivers cycle route

Homely and peaceful 17th century cottage in the heart of Burgh-by-Sands, on Hadrian's Wall Path. Carlisle - 5 miles. Comfortably sleeping four (plus infant), in two double bedrooms, one with ensuite cloakroom, the house has a kitchen/dining/living space, cosy living room and spacious garden, with very little light pollution ideal for star gazing. Ample parking Perfect for exploring the wildlife of the Solway Coast, the city of Carlisle, Gretna and the Lake District.

Hovel House Shed

The Shed has been custom built, in the paddock, near my small barn conversion. It has a homely atmosphere, with vintage furnishings and up-cycled items. Where possible I’ve tried to be eco friendly. This is a quiet, tranquil place with beautiful views of the Scottish hills beyond the Solway Firth. It’s part of a small hamlet and my former family farm. Animals are often kept in the fields next to The Shed. You’ll experience stunning sunsets and starry skies.

Stunning views and walks, looking straight over the River Eden onto the Lake District fells. Situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, this newly built wooden pod provides a comfortable, warm and cosy stay for people looking for a countryside retreat to relax and unwind in. Situated on Castletown Estate you can walk out of the garden gate and straight onto the river side with access to walks not publicly available.

Orchard Cottage - An 18th Century Cumbrian Cottage

Orchard Cottage was originally an 18th century 'Solway Plain clay dabbin' farmer's cottage (named after the fruit trees that are still in the garden), now fully restored with many of its original features. It is a perfect cosy getaway for those wanting to explore the Lakes, Hadrian's Wall and other highlights of this beautiful county. It is a great base to sample the many delights Cumbria has to offer.
