Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Mad River

Beautiful home, as described. Nice personal touches with towels and mini shampoo/conditioner. Kitchen is large and has most every appliance you would want. Caretaker does come in twice per day but is friendly and unobtrusive. You do need AWD/4WD to access the house.

We had a quiet stay at the Farmhouse. Very peaceful and quiet location. Lots of space for our dog to roam. The house is very nice and clean. We enjoyed having coffee and looking out across the fields, reading, and cooking. It’s near the small village of Rochester with a few restaurants and otherwise we explored neighboring towns like Middlebury, Waitsfield, Stowe, and Montpelier.

We loved our stay. It was beautiful and we loved being right by the lake as well as the sauna, fire pit, and outdoor seating. The house was cozy and the little kids toy closet was such a cute touch. We had an amazing time on our family vacation and would definitely recommend this rental. Ash was also so communicative and ready to help if we ever needed anything. So thankful!

Philips place was literally perfect! The location, the awesome house filled with super cool art, the cozy feel of the house, the amazing outdoor area we had available to us all made this a perfect experience! Philip was great with communications and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a perfect place to stay in this area of VT. My dad and I were up there for a quick 2 day stay. We'll both be returning with our significant others to vacation there and will absolutely be coming here in the future whenever we travel to this area!!!

This is my second time staying at one of Jess’s properties - and I’m sure it’s not my last. The property is beautiful inside and out and has everything you need. I was in town for a full week and this place was just what I needed to relax after long work days. I can’t recommend staying at one of Jess’s places enough. You won’t regret it!!

Beautiful house! Location was a little remote, but wonderful! Also great yard for dogs and plenty of space for everyone. Would definitely recommend.

Chad was an incredible host! He was extremely accommodating with any requests we had. The views from his place are breath-taking! We enjoyed snowshoeing from the backyard onto trails in the woods. I fell in love with his cat who visited daily! He kept the driveway plowed and salted in a timely fashion. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend his place!

We had a great stay at William’s. The location was beautiful and the house was comfortable. We had a great mix of day-tripping and relaxing with a view. We also ran into William and he was very helpful and friendly.

We really enjoyed this place! The property is beautiful. The pool looked really clean and well cared for (but we didn't have a chance to use it). The supplied linens and especially the bath towels were great. This certainly will be on our list the next time are in VT.

Kristin was super easy to get in touch with. The house is beautiful and super clean. They provided us with towels and soap, it felt like a hotel. Plenty of space. The pool wasn’t available but the jacuzzi was SO nice. You can see deer from you window, it was magical.

Linda was a fantastic host, and her home was even better than listed. The cabin was a good size for our family of four + dog; the 2 bed / 2 bath arrangement allowed for good privacy when needed. The fireplace was great for apres and winding down at night. Location is a nice mix of seclusion (off the Mountain Rd), but close to everything.

No frills but that’s what we were looking for, for a quick spring ski trip! Affordable and great for the kids with a ton to do on the property. Game space, pool, hot tub, laser tag plus skiing! Super fun packed few days. Host very communicative. We will return.

We just returned from an incredible stay at this beautiful 3-bedroom condo in Stowe, and we couldn't be happier with the experience! Traveling as a family of four, we found the space to be just right — spacious, comfortable, and immaculately clean. Each of the bedrooms was thoughtfully furnished, with cozy beds and plenty of closet space. The kids loved having their own rooms, and we appreciated the privacy as parents. The living area was a great place to unwind after a day of exploring — comfy seating, a fireplace, and beautiful views of the mountains. The kitchen was fully stocked and made it easy to cook family meals. We also loved the convenient location — just a short drive to the slopes, hiking trails, and charming downtown Stowe. Having parking and laundry in the unit was a huge plus for us. The hosts were responsive, welcoming, and provided clear instructions for check-in and local recommendations. This home is an absolute gem! Every corner is tastefully decorated, creating a warm atmosphere. It is fully equipped with everything you could need—an ideal place for relaxation and unwinding. The grounds are beautifully maintained, peaceful, and picturesque from every angle. We enjoyed sitting near the pond watching the sunset after a day of activities. The trail behind the house offers a walk along a serene creek through the woods—a perfect escape into nature. The fast Wi-Fi is a bonus, especially for those needing to stay connected. Travis was incredibly communicative and welcoming, ensuring a truly memorable experience. We can’t wait to visit again in the fall.

Kris & Brian's place was really a great spot to enjoy being out in nature while still being close to amenities when needed. I've stayed in a few spots in Vermont where driving to a city to pick up groceries was a trek & a half. This Airbnb, however, had several small towns to choose from, & if you needed a bit more bustle, Burlington is no more than thirty minutes out. The barn itself was quite lovely, & I especially liked how homey & rustic it felt. Everything is exactly as described. Being able to bring my pup with me is a true perk! The real bonus was being able to meet their sweet dog Murphy & having him greet us every time I came back from an adventure with my husband. Kris & Brian are very responsive when I reached out to them, & they never hesitated to let us know they were nearby if we needed anything; all the while, the space was private & we never felt encroached upon while we were at the Airbnb. Truly a gem of a place! I highly recommend checking it out!

Our stay was incredible! The view by the stream was amazing, everything was so peaceful and perfect. Inside the cabin was exactly what we expected, very homey, everything we needed. We loved the walls lined with books! Kevin was very attentive towards what we needed - it stormed all day Saturday and he brought a second heater for us because the temperature dropped, which with that and the gas fireplace, kept the place perfectly warm and comfortable. He was also very accommodating in allowing us to stay an extra night since our plans of hiking all weekend were thwarted by the rain. We went for my husband's 40th birthday and i couldn't have picked a better place to get away from the stress of life. We plan on going back for sure!

Loved staying here! So peaceful with great views. Very private and comfortable! Derek was very friendly and did an amazing job on the treehouse, two thumbs up!

The place is wonderful inside and out. The house itself is remarkably efficient and manages to be so without losing its charm. It is set in a hillside glade that is private, spacious, and beautifully green. There is even a small pond and a stream. Visits from the very sweet cats that live down the hill were a welcome bonus. Overall this was a great experience that has us wanting to return to the area in the future.

Heidi's place is a wonderful cabin in the woods with all you need to enjoy the nature in Vermont. Super peaceful and the property is well maintained. I would highly recommend staying here to enjoy your vacation!

Adorable, cozy cabin 10 minutes from Sugarbush ski resort. Very relaxing atmosphere. Well stocked with linens and firewood. Jill left us a little delicious treat. Would stay here again
