Holiday rentals with lake access in Madison County

We had a great time at Greg’s and Nicole’s place! I highly recommend it. We especially appreciated how well stocked the kitchen was, as it is somewhat rare to find when staying at a rental.

We loved it! It’s a very nice and quiet area for a perfect weekend getaway at the lake. Of course, we were sold on the idea of having a private dock to use as well. House has plenty of space and we had a lot of fun with their different puzzles and board games available. Zack and Kate are very responsive and friendly hosts.

We stayed here with some friends and all our small kids. The place was really clean and had all we needed - the kitchen was stocked with all the tools and basics you need for cooking, the property had plenty of space for the kids to play, the downstairs kept the kids occupied in the mornings, and there is a really nice dock to fish. Perhaps the best part was the ability to rent a boat directly from the owners for the weekend - we had an absolute blast doing this. Overall, this place was a great find, and a rare occurrence where i'd like to stay there again instead of trying something new (I usually don't prefer repeat rentals). The checkout procedure included doing the dishes, but the place has a dishwasher so it was ok, and checkout was at 11AM which is optimal. The house is clearly getting intermittent updates and upgrades, and feels very well taken care of and updated. Our only issue was with the outdoor video cameras which were monitored as we were staying at the place.

Lisa was a very good host and responded to my messages in a reasonable amount of time. The house was nicely decorated and spacious for our group (5 people). The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. The location actually turned out to be better than originally thought for what we wanted to see and do. We were basically 10-15 minutes away from downtown Charlottesville, wineries, and Monticello. We had a great time and plan to come back.

This home and hosts are both rare gems, from the ease of checking in to the homes beautiful ambiance, its makes a great place to get away and enjoy nature. We would love to come back and explore more of the trails and wineries.

Matt and Tina’s home surpassed expectations on all fronts. This is an absolutely beautiful home on a quiet, and peaceful property. The entire property is one of the most beautiful I have ever seen, and is chocked full of amenities and led to an unbelievable weekend. The stand-out for me was the two-tier dock, it is very well done. Matt and Tina were incredibly responsive and generous with check-in times and catered to our large group well. Excellent hosts! Thank you for the opportunity to stay in such a wonderful home in Lake Anna, VA!

Irene is amazing and so is her home on Lake Anna! Great space with privacy and access to lake and amenities. Irene went above and beyond - even coming to pick us up from dinner when our Uber cancelled on us. Such a great experience and highly recommended staying here!

This was the second stay at Vickie's for me. The location stands out for its peace. natural beauty and charming gardens. Vickie really is a terrific host. She is warm, positive, flexible, and eager to ensure your stay is a good one. The accommodations are clean and comfortable. I'd recommend morning coffee in one of the big, comfortable chairs near the bird feeder!

We came to Charlottesville for our son's graduation from UVA. This home was the perfect getaway for the weekend. Ann and Jim are welcoming and accommodating hosts. The home is immaculate and the surrounding countryside is idyllic. I can't say enough about this location. I didn't want to leave!

Fantastic apartment on a beautiful lakefront property within short drive to Charlottesville. Highly recommend this place. Very clean and quiet, close to a trail and walking path that runs quite a ways down local streets/highway as well as around the lake.

We enjoyed our stay in the White Locus Suite! Right outside of our bedroom, we had a kitchen to cook in. The jacuzzi bath and actual hot tub outside were very relaxing. We enjoyed it being so relaxing, we decided to book another week! :)

This was my second stay at White Locus Eco Resort. Each suite is a different experience. The barn was very quiet and made a great place to work remotely. It was fun meeting guests in common areas across the resort and everyone was respectful. This is a great retreat for both extroverted and introverted alike. I will return soon! The holly cottage was exactly as the listing described. It was easy to find and close to crozet. I would definitely stay here again in the future.

We had an amazing time at Taby’s place. She was a great host. The cottage is pretty. The swimming pool was nice respite in the scorching sun of June. Taby was extremely friendly and also helped us with the local recommendations.

Place was very new feeling and clean beds and furniture. Host was very helpful and responsive and actually cared. Overall great little home in a great little area close to nature and at the end of a very private road. My only complaint was the house next door was also an Airbnb (wife looked it up) and it is a larger one and there was a large family get together of sorts and took away from some of the private feel with their music. That was just luck though - Great please to stay if you're in that area.

An amazing stay for our group! It was a beautiful and peaceful environ and the house and local neighborhood had some fantastic amenities and perks that we were fully encouraged to enjoy and take advantage of. We had a full group of 8 people and and it was perfect for our needs.

Great getaway for our family of 4! Our 5 and 2 year old enjoyed making s'mores by the fire pit, canoeing for the first time and walking the trails. It was amazing to wake up and have coffee on the deck and the mountain view from the top of the hill was gorgeous! I wish we would've had more time to explore the town but we had a great trip and would love to come back again!

We loved the home, very cozy and welcoming! It had the perfect views of the river as well.

We really enjoyed staying at this Lake Anna house and recommend it! The house sits on a small cove off the lake, and they have kayaks and a canoe, along with several life jackets. You can set the boats in the water and paddle off right away. This isn't a part of the lake where you can swim, unfortunately, but it is not far from places where you can swim. Putt putt, ice cream, lake rental, and a seafood restaurant are a short (less than 10 minutes) kayak ride away or just a 2-3 minute drive. There was a nest of red-tailed hawks in one of the front trees, which was very cool to watch. The yard is sloped down to the water, so very fun for running and playing, but don't bring a soccer ball or it will end up in the lake(!). Note that the bedroom with the bunk beds (in the basement) is directly off the big basement bedroom, so you have to go through that bedroom to get to the bunk beds. (Was only a minor issue when kiddos got up early and were noisy.) Kitchen was big and well appointed!
