On the first day of my visit to Okinawa, I met a lacquered wood container with a texture like pottery at the storefront of GARP DOMINGO, near the public market.It was only a little later that I learned that it was the work of the Fujimoto couple. When I arrived at the inn, I couldn't help but let out a cry.I was familiar with the dishes lined up on the cupboard.There was the work of that couple.Every time we sit around the table, their handiwork seems to speak softly to us, as if we were in a short story. This house is more like a place to live than a resort in Okinawa.The interior, where the scent of white walls and wood blend together, is casually dotted with folk art, and the heart melts.The lighting, fabrics, and vessels were all unassuming, yet they exuded a definite presence. Although it was only for one night, I feel that I can slowly soak in the quiet magic of this house if I stay for consecutive nights.Next time, I want to stay at the nearby "Basho no Ie". But to be honest, the thought of wanting to live here as it is has crossed my mind many times. The work that you encounter at the beginning of your journey will reappear in the inn.Guided by such coincidences, I felt my own outline gradually becoming familiar with the land of Okinawa.

When we arrived, we realized that we were lucky to have found a wonderful family, kind, generous and welcoming, a family that knows how to live and knows how to make others live. Of all the Airbnbs from all over the world that we have done, this one wins the prize for the best and if we could give it one more ⭐️ star, it would be well deserved. We left with a heavy heart, sad to leave such a beautiful place and such beautiful people. We have found new Nakamas and we are pretty sure that our paths will cross sooner or later. See you soon.
