Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Malawi

We loved this place. It was in a slightly unlikely setting on the outskirts of Mzuzu but felt very safe and peaceful & surrounded by beautiful countryside. ( you can walk up the hill and get a view for miles over the lake & across to Tanzania). We were glad we had a car although it’s just off the main road so you could probably travel easily by minibus. The house was spacious and sunny with a fabulous garden bearing fruits & herbs delivered by the lovely manger Sam to enhance our self catering. But do bring plenty of supplies as it’s a way from town. There is a large fridge freezer & amazingly 3 bathrooms with baths and hot water. Being newly listed the property was let at a discount and this was reflected in a slightly sparsely equipped kitchen but we are sure this will be rectified once it is rented at full price. Plenty of ( English language ) books to peruse on a lazy evening. We loved this place and would definitely visit again , thank you so much

Very clean place, Thoko is very friendly, and replies very quickly. As stated in her profile, she's not at the location but she has a very friendly and very helpful team, that helps with cooking , cleaning and anything that might come up, they are there for you. I would suggest asking them about the prices of various things sold locally before buying. As the local prices are not fixed, they are based on the appearances, a stranger is charged a "bit" or a lot more.

We spend one night there and we enjoyed it. Lily is a great host. She set up a nice very clean place. Everything was there. Only neighbourhood was a bit noisy.

We absolutely loved our stay here! The place was incredibly peaceful and exactly what we needed to unwind. Both indoor and outdoor areas were perfect – beautifully maintained and ideal for enjoying some fresh Malawian air and relaxation. Whether you’re looking for a serene escape or just a place to recharge, this is the perfect spot. I would highly recommend it and hope to return soon.

Great place - clean, safe and comfortable! The housekeeper lives next door. She is very helpful! Walkable to the village where you'll find other lodges, restaurants and small shops. The view of the lake is awesome! The furniture needs updating. Overall a great value!

Great environment and nice grounds. It is close to the city but feels peaceful and far off. Really clean and nicely set up family houses.

We had a wonderful stay as we came up from the weekend during our medical rotation. The place was beautiful and was a relaxing getaway. The staff was very welcoming and ensured that our stay was as comfortable it could be. Definitely recommend!

The communication with the owners was seamless, and they arranged a smooth airport pick-up. The house is great — clean and in a great location. The garden is beautiful, and the staff on the property are all friendly and welcoming. Highly recommended.

Simply a great airbnb, and quite possibly the best airbnb host imaginable. The place is in a smaller house inside of a larger private compound where the hosts live. You're well connected if you need anything, but the space allows for privacy. Fully equipped kitchen, washing machine, everything you could think of is there. Plus you might as well use the beautiful and tranquil garden. The area is a quiet and green suburb. Very safe, peaceful, with a number of very nice cafes and restaurants within 10-15 minutes walk. A large supermarket is 15 minutes walk. Reasonably short taxi ride to city centre, or you could just walk. The host has been absolutely fantastic. Amazingly helpful, sorted out a few issues I had (not with the place but with closed shops), great to communicate with, and just generally an absolute pleasure. Great family, very nice kids, and very nice friends of the family at a little home party I was able to join. Couldn't recommend any place more.

We spend 6 nights in the cottage with our little family. What a beautiful place with beautiful view, it’s even better than then then the pictures. Communication with Pietro was very good and manager Stanley and his collegues made us feel comfortable and welcome. The walk to the waterfalls was very nice, people in the village are welcoming and willing to chat and help. Thank you team for a wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful stay at this cozy guesthouse. The location was perfect for spending time in the city and exploring the surrounding area. Having your own vehicle makes it easier. The secure compound, filled with beautiful plants and trees, added to the charm and provided a peaceful atmosphere. The kitchen was great for cooking our own meals, and the overall quietness of the property made it a great place to relax. Communication with the hosts was smooth and prompt, even though we didn’t get the chance to meet them. I would happily stay here again and confidently recommend it to other travelers, whether for a short or longer stay.

The people at the place were incredibly friendly, especially Mary. She was exceptionally accommodating. I faced difficulty exchanging money upon my arrival, and feeling unsure of what to eat for supper, I approached her. Mary displayed genuine concern, prepared a meal for me, which instantly made me feel at home. She is also quite conversational and has a way of making you feel comfortable in every way. My room was also the best. Special thanks to Becca's and, specifically, Mary for the wonderful experience. I highly recommend giving it a try

One word: Fabulous! If you’re lucky to find it for your dates, grab it! We use Airbnb for all our travels; this property is amongst the best we have had. The highlight for us is the lovely large lounge which opens onto a veranda, with outdoor sofas & a separate outdoor dining area, facing a beautiful garden with a perfectly maintained lawn & flowers. The Rooms are large & comfy with loads of storage & a nice dining room & kitchen perfectly laid & kitted out. Lorraine was always very helpful & timely in her instant responses & availability :) According to our research, Area 10 is one of the safest, being a location favoured by diplomats. The bungalow has a remote controlled security gate. Despite the ongoing roadworks all over the city, we were still able to drive to various places with little trouble. We are sure the new road system will make travel in a city we didn’t realise we would end up liking so much. When we return we hope we will be able to have ALANA HOUSE - a gem 💎

We loved the Agogo house, thank you! The guys were so helpful getting us checked in. The property is very green with nice trees. Lots of shade and places to sit and enjoy the nature. There are a couple friendly puppies roaming around which made the stay even nicer for us. Can’t wait to be back.

Peaceful, luxurious place out side Lilongwe. The host was readily available with exceptional hospitality.
