Jessys Homestay bietet einen hervorragenden Einblick in das authentische Leben auf einer abgelegenen Pazifik-Insel. Die Unterkunft ist sehr einfach, in lokaler Bauweise, luftig und angenehm. Man kann wunderbar im warmen Süsswassersee schwimmen oder an den Strand gehen. Jessy hat für mich lokales Ni-Van Essen gekocht, das hervorragend schmeckte. Er organisierte einen tollen guide für eine 2-tägige Vulkanbesteigung und sein Sohn Jimmy begleitete mich. Beide sprechen gut Englisch. Ich hatte interessante Gespräche mit Jessy und konnte von ihm viel über Inselleben in Vanuatu erfahren. Es gibt auch die Möglichkeit traditionelle Tänze zu sehen oder bei gutem Wetter mit einem Boot auf die Nachbarinsel Malakula zu fahren. Jessy kann all das organisieren und ist sehr hilfreich bei der Planung. Jessy ist ein sehr aufmerksamer Gastgeber, ich hatte den Eindruck, dass ihm mein Wohl wirklich am Herzen liegt. Er ist sehr bemüht, alle Wünsche zu erfüllen, die Kommunikation im Vorfeld war hervorragend.

We had an absolutely incredible experience that we will remember for the rest of our lives! There is nothing like this out there unless you are on a small tropical island where there is ‘nothing there’ except small villages. I will definitely travel back some day. Our host and cook were fantastic. I never would have expected that for such a low cost per night a tour of the coconut and cocoa plantations, the village, a canoe tour of the entire lagoon and snorkeling would all be included! Be prepared to try new things, these people are some of the most genuine and happy people I know! Always with a smile on their faces, never any conflict. Every single moment they made sure we had the best experience possible. Feel free to message me if you have any questions about this honeymoon experience with my wife. Also, If you want to travel here and stay here, know that you are going to be staying in the jungle and everything that comes with it. (: it’s good to know that nothing here is poisonous and there are no large predator animals to worry about when bushwhacking. Make sure to fly into the southwest bay airport to avoid the 3-5 hour boat and truck commute from Norsup. Also, you can stay as long as you want at the bungalow, just let them know how long you want to stay! We stayed for 6 days.

We stayed at Jessy's place for one week and we loved it. The bungalows are simple, at his family's place, just next to a beautiful lake and surrounded in a lush green forest. We enjoyed swimming and kayaking in the lake, swimming in the sea (5min walk), playing with the grandchildren. Jessy and Jimmy showed us around. We went to the garden, fishing, for a walk to the next village and booked a cultural event. We could join them in preparing traditional food. All the meals were freshly prepared with products out of there garden and fish, always delicious! We loved this peaceful place and recommend it absolutely!

We asked to stay on short notice, and even though we had many requests, you kindly accommodated us and took such thoughtful care of us—we truly appreciated it. Ettiene is very knowledgeable and always willing to share what he knows. Lynn is a wonderful cook and so kind, just like a real mother. The children were adorable—thank you for playing with us! Even though we didn’t understand English well, you spoke slowly and clearly as many times as we needed, which made it so enjoyable to talk with you every day. The location of the lodge was also amazing. We spent every morning relaxing and watching the sunrise between Wala Island and Rano Island. If you’re planning to join tours on Malekula Island, it’s best to bring plenty of cash in advance.

Un bel endroit, des excursions sympathiques organisées par Edna. Des repas succulents cuisinés par un super chef et vraiment pas très cher. Un seul bémol Edna a quelques soucis de connexions sur Airbnb on a finalement trouvé le numéro suivant et nous avons échangé avec elle par whatsapp +678 779 8964
