Maria da Fé is at the top of the Mantiqueira mountain range, south of Minas Gerais. It is the coldest city in the state: in winter the temperature drops below zero! Its 15,000 inhabitants live in a place with one of the lowest rates of violence in Brazil. It's famous for its olive culture - here it was made the country's first olive oil - and for its cherry blossoms.
