We had a great time staying here, really enjoyed everything the villa had to offer.

This place is a true nature lover’s delight, the very definition of a beach house. Nestled among mature trees and lush tropical flora, the property feels like a private sanctuary designed for slow, intentional living. It’s clear the experience has been carefully curated to complement the natural surroundings. Set near a quiet, secluded beach, it’s perfect for early morning walks with the sound of waves crashing reaching the bedrooms. The interior is equally charming - tastefully furnished with pieces collected from the owner’s travels, giving the home a personal, lived-in feel. I especially enjoyed the collection of thoughtfully chosen coffee table books. One on Geoffrey Bawa inspired me to explore his architectural legacy in Colombo, an unexpected and enriching highlight of the trip. The plunge pool is a welcome retreat after a hot day out, offering the perfect place to unwind. Having a car made it easy to explore the area, which is rich in dining options, beaches, and parks.

We had the most amazing stay at Elspeth Villa in Ahangama! The villa itself is absolutely stunning – beautifully designed, serene, and surrounded by lush greenery. Every corner feels thoughtfully curated, and you can truly feel the care that went into creating such a peaceful space. Elspeth was a wonderful host, super responsive and helpful throughout our stay. She went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a tranquil escape with a personal touch. We had a wonderful week at Mandaram Villa with warm hospitality, a gorgeous quiet garden, spacious airy rooms, an awesome outdoor shower, and delicious homemade food. The hosts were incredible, the house was comfortable, and Darasan took excellent care of us, driving our family of 4 around to every beach and site we wanted to visit. We couldn't have asked for a better stay.

We had a great stay and the family were fantastic and very welcoming. Breakfast and dinner were excellent.

The villa is set amidst dense, lush greenery, that gave us a feeling of being in a forest. We spent hours at the two pools every day and had an amazing time. Joseph, the family patriarch, who lives a couple of hours away, came to the villa to just help us check-in. Thank you sir! Kintoo, who lives abroad, was always responsive and helpful. We had a restful time in the large balcony every day. I am incredibly grateful for the wonderful collection of books on travel and nature. The air-conditioning works very well. The tuktuk driver Sajith was super helpful. The villa is a bit remote and it is only the place that is being offered - so one must buy groceries and other provisions beforehand. Sajith is always ready to come to the villa and take you wherever you want to go, including grocery shopping. Sri Lanka probably has frequent power outages. Be ready to embrace that. The pools are a cool refuge when the power goes out. Thank you Kintoo, Joseph and family for hosting us

The house, the garden simply fantastic! The kitchen is a little small, but everything you need is there. The "gardener " cooked something for us in the evening, super delicious. The two guard dogs😂, two dear decent cuddles, welcomed us joyfully every day, our children as well as we were really happy with the two.

Beautiful house in a gorgeous location. The house and pool area are absolutely stunning. Everyone was very attentive. We did not really utilise the chef because the ingredient cost was slightly out of budget (we are students who were having the cost of accommodation reimbursed by our university). Only other thing to note is that after booking we were made aware that an 1000 rupee per person per day tip was expected, which again was a slight problem for us because the cost of accommodation was covered by the uni but the cost of tip wasn’t. But for anyone paying for this amazing house themselves I can’t see this being a problem.

Just... wow! We felt truely blessed with the opportunity to stay here. The pictures really don't do the view and villa justice, it's a really remarkable find and absolutely stay here if you get the chance. Sonali and her family are wonderful people, who really made the stay. Sonali's cooking was wonderful, lots of dishes each evening that were so tasty and taking the time to go through the menu with us is really thoughtful and made sure we enjoyed everything. Lesley and Ken have truely thought of everything, there's not a single thing missing and nothing to be improved on. We went out easily on tuk tuks to visit surrounding areas, only to return to absolute bliss with a dip in the warm infinity pool. We even took a little boat ride around the lake from the dock at the end of the garden that Sonali organised for us. This place is a true gem, and we felt so lucky to be able to stay here - just try and stop us visting again!

Our stay at The Dragonfly Villa was nothing short of amazing. From the moment we arrived, we were wrapped in a sense of calm and beauty that only a place like this can offer. The villa is simply breathtaking — elegantly designed with stunning details, lush surroundings, and peaceful spaces that made it a true escape. A standout highlight was the exceptional cuisine lovingly prepared by Nayana. Each dish she created was bursting with flavour — fresh, comforting, and unforgettable. Every mealtime became a moment we looked forward to. Equally wonderful was the gracious hospitality of Ushan, who was always there with a warm smile, ready to assist with anything we needed - reservations, recommendations, or simply answering our many questions with patience and kindness. His presence made everything smooth and enjoyable. The Dragonfly Villa exceeded all expectations. Every person we encountered went out of their way to make our family trip very special. We left feeling so lucky and grateful

Amazing Stay – Highly Recommended! We had a fantastic time at this villa! The property was clean, beautifully maintained, and exactly as described in the listing. The ambiance was peaceful and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The rooms were spacious, the amenities were top-notch. Chef Sammy’s food was superb! Very accommodating and he catered to our requirement without a hesitation and Thari was so helpful and made sure that we had everything we needed throughout our stay. We would definitely love to come back and highly recommend this villa to anyone looking for a perfect holiday experience!

What a beautiful place. Light, airy with wonderful sea views. Nissanka and Damnika were stars. Always helpful and available. Great cooking. Easy walking everywhere. Will be back. Only slight downside was that the wifi was erratic which wasn’t great for working.

Stop scrolling through the reviews and just book this stay already! Everything about the Temple House was fantastic - from the decor to the amenities to the constantly cleaned pool to the villa manager and staff availability and helpfulness. Communication with Jo was a breeze. Jo was proactive and provided all the information we needed. The chef that we shared with another villa made amazing vegetarian food for our party of 4 adults. Nish the villa manager went out of his way to make us comfortable. Shashi was super duper helpful, making breakfast for all of us and staying with my grandma and infant to ensure their comfort when the rest of us were out exploring. The place was spic and span thanks to Ashanti cleaning the indoor area and the uncle outside cleaning the yard and pool. There was a short period of power outage that was handled well by Jo and the team. They had USB/ battery powered lights and fans that allowed us - especially my infant - to feel comfortable. Loved it!!!

We just returned from the most unforgettable stay at this stunning private villa in the south of Sri Lanka, and we’re still floating from the experience! We were 3 families with 6 young kids (ages 3 to 8), and this place was pure paradise for all of us. From the moment we booked, the host Sophie was an absolute gem—warm, welcoming, incredibly responsive, and full of helpful tips to make our stay extra smooth. The villa itself? Breathtaking. Think lush gardens, open tropical spaces, beautifully designed rooms, and a serene vibe that instantly makes you feel relaxed and at home. It was spacious enough for our group to feel comfortable and connected, with plenty of areas for the kids to explore and the adults to unwind. And the staff! So friendly, so kind, and so attentive. But the real star of the show was Dias, the private chef, who absolutely blew us away with his who absolutely blew us away with his cooking. If you’re thinking of staying here—do it. This place is magic.

Words cannot describe how perfect our stay was. Sharmini was a fantastic host, even before we got there. She was quick to answer my many questions about the villa, the local area and sharing details of companies that could collect our large party of 12 from the airport. Even calling them on my behalf when they didn't respond to my messages. The photos of the villa don't do it justice. The rooms are all a fantastic size, beds and pillows comfy and the bathrooms are wonderful. The location on the beach was just perfect. We were 3 families with 6 children between 2 and 8 and we all spent our time running from beach to pool l. Idilic. But the standout feature of the villa is the fabulous and dedicated staff. Dilu, Milan and Bandu. Dilu could not do enough for us and was on hand, yet discreet. Milan! Well his cooking is easily the best I've had in Sri Lanka. He cooked breakfast, lunch and dinner for all of us every night catering for us all! Our villa stay was perfect in every way!

We had an amazing stay! We are a family of 6 and we had 10 days in Sri Lanka, finalising with 3 days in this top Summer villa. Having 3 staff at our service was a nice add on and made our stay so much easier! Dimension of the rooms and the view were perfect! Pool was great, meals also and cleaning was spot on.

We spent four days at Villa Sõmar and are completely satisfied. The villa is spacious, very clean and exactly as in the description. In the morning there is a delicious breakfast served by two very dear employees. The Sri Lankan banana pancakes are highly recommended. Furthermore, before arrival, you will receive a very detailed message in which, among other things, there are many restaurant recommendations, beaches nearby and even numbers of two tuk tuk drivers. The location is fine and you can reach anything by tuk tuk or scooter. All in all, we enjoyed our stay very much and would come back anytime.

Surrounded by beautiful trees, lush vegetation and fascinating widlife, this place is the ideal spot for a relaxed, tranquil getaway. We had very poor weather while we were here so didn't get to enjoy the outside space as much as we could have. The best part about this place is Manoj and his team that run the place, we had beautiful cooked breakfasts and seafood lunches while we were here, and Manoj helped us with shopping, transportation around the local area and our ongoing transfer to Colombo. The owner also deserves credit, for being so approachable, easy to contact and proactive in resolving issues.

Our stay was wonderful! We went for a short vacation for my birthday. Me and my friends had a great time here. The property was so calming and peaceful. The place was more than true to the photos. It was beautiful to the naked eye. A highlight of our trip is that the staff were so kind and service was excellent. We definitely recommend it to anyone who is looking for a getaway and wants to be immersed in nature.

We stayed in this beautiful house for two weeks and can see why it is a guest favorite. The house has everything you need and has lovely outdoor and pool areas. The neighborhood is quiet and peaceful and it is nice to walk the local roads. It is only a few minutes walk to the nearest grocery stores. If you want to go to Galle or Unawatuna it is only a short Tuktuk ride to beaches, shops and restaurants. The team that manages the property are professional and friendly, and any questions or challenges are resolved quickly and efficiently. We recommend the house and would be happy to return on a later occasion.

The villa itself is great, 4 spacious bedrooms, more well-maintained grounds, a pool that is taken care of every morning. The house was cleaned every other day, with a change of towels. The kitchen has everything you need, dishes, a fire pans, upon arrival there was egg milk salt oil. Washing machine is also available. Among the disadvantages: we were from the middle to the end of April 2025, the non-season began there were very strong waves and our beach did not meet our expectations at all, immediately after the steps there was no sand, as we saw in the photo, but the huge blocks of rocks under which the ocean is raging, that is, to go down these stones in the right vilas 6. We were with 3 kids and it was very problematic for us. After talking to the staff, they explained to us that at this time it is always so, there is a low tide and the sand goes away, then returns. The conclusion of the villa is great but it is recommended to visit in season Separately, I want to note the driver(he also washed the pool in the morning) drove us everywhere, was very patient.

Absolutely wonderful host.Extremely friendly and always there to guide us.The villa was very clean and the plunge pool was the Highlight.When we had a niggle with ceiling fan it was replaced immediately.The caretaker Roshan was such a nice young boy and he was always there to take us around in his TukTuk.Nice gesture on the host part to get a small little gift for my sons Birthday!Hasantha himself drove us around on the first day.Will surely comeback to stay when we visit next.Thankyou Hasantha ,Shashika & Roshan for the wonderful stay.

We had the most wonderful stay at Etamba House. This Geoffrey Bawa inspired property is beautiful and even better than the photos suggest. The rooms are huge and tastefully decorated with an elegant nod to Sri Lanka's past. The bathrooms are inside/outside with beautiful showers and plenty of space. The service from Michael and Shehan was exceptional. Breakfast is different each day with a set menu but they're flexible to your requests. the dinner that Talakshi prepares is wonderful (the portions are huge!). Can't say anything bad about this place. Go and stay there. Enjoy this beautiful home and the peace and quiet that surrounds it.

Ben was quite responsive and had proper recommendations of places to visit and eat during our stay. Roshan , the manager there was quite helpful , he set us up with scooter , cleaned the pool regularly , was always there if we needed anything. The location of the air bnb was perfect and it looked exactly like the pictures. Overall 10/10 stay
