The Annex is on a small farmlet, 6 km south of Whangarei, with harbour views. It was a sleepout, built in the 1980's, separate, but next to the main house. It has two bedrooms. There is a double bed and two singles plus a day bed in the living area. The living/ dining area, has a wood fire. There is a small shower room and separate toilet. It is situated about 100 mtr off SH1, so there can be road noise. There are no streetlights and it can be very dark if you arrive after sundown.

We want you to enjoy the birdlife, therefore we have food for you to feed the fantails, eels and pukekoes. I felt like I was staying at a relatives house, it was so lovely. the double bed was comfy but a little small for my partner and I so if you're on the taller or bigger side, you may not have the BEST sleep. otherwise, 5/5, 10/10 :)

Incredible spot and amazing hosts. Sheryll and her husband greeted us and showed us to the cabins further down the property when we arrived. They also gifted us an extra evening free of charge which was a wonderful and much appreciated gesture! Stunning quaint surroundings with plenty of wildlife, serene views and beautiful nature. The cabins were well equiped and very clean. Would highly recommended this spot and will be staying here again in the future.

Carien and Jay were so incredibly welcoming, it felt like staying with family. I moved to the area and booked their Airbnb as a buffer to find a rental. They were as concerned about me getting a rental as I was, and reached out to friends to help me out! Carien invited me to join her on walks with their pups, Jack and Jill, who are extremely sweet. I would absolutely recommend staying if you have a chance!
