Holiday rentals with a fireplace in Meadela

We really enjoyed our stay at Tue’s house. It is a great size with good bedrooms and plenty of living space. Ideal for our family of 7. The house is well equipped with plenty to do - swimming pool, bikes, pool table, large garden etc. The local area is very quiet with a good beach and some nice local walks. The weather wasn’t great while we were there, which was unfortunate and meant we couldn’t make full use of the pool etc. but it was great on the sunny days. It could perhaps be improved with some soft covers for the sun beds and maybe another sun umbrella. All in all though we had a great stay.

We had a great time in Afife and enjoyed our stay at Joaos place. The location was very quiet (except the Honda shop across the street in the daytime) and Afife has not much to offer, which was okay for us but should be known in advance if you plan on eating outside. Porto is great to be reached by train and the beach is very close. With 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms there’s enough space for a big group and everything was very comfortable. The pool was open already and was cleaned during our stay. The only thing which I would point out on the negative side is that when we arrived it smelled a bit mouldy, probably due to the rainy weather and the fact that 3 of the bathrooms don’t have windows. The staircase to the lower part of the house is very steep. That’s a fact you should know when travelling with small kids. Joao was perfect to contact and always responded quickly whenever there were any questions. Thanks for having us. We would totally recommend to stay at his place.

The small house is a wonderful holiday destination. It is very lovingly and at the same time practically furnished. So you have everything you need. The location directly by the sea is great. It is also good that there is a fireplace, it can be uncomfortably cold in the evening. I found the conservatory very practical, it heats up during the day and you can use the heat for the house. It also serves as the connection between the house and the bathroom - very well solved. We also used the barbecue a lot, especially since there is fresh fish in the fish shop around the corner. We felt very comfortable and would be happy to come back.

A lovely and unique stay with your very own waterfall! The host is quick to respond and most helpful. We enjoyed our stay either out exploring or by the pool.

At the beginning of June 2025, we spent a week in the cozy Tiny House of Clarisse & Manuel. The garden is beautiful, as is the surrounding area with village, fields, sea coast and forest. Praia de Paco is a very beautiful natural beach. Our hosts were very friendly & pleasant. The orange cake is a dream! Muito obrigado😀! We are on vacation without a car. The few connections of the local train were enough for us. Arrival and departure by taxi from Viana do Castrlo worked perfectly. Beatrice and Luzi

We were a group of 4 adults, a 9 month old baby, a 2 year old, 2 dogs, and the house was perfect for everybody! Great space inside and outside (dogs enjoyed a lot exploring around, very safe), big bedrooms - each one had its own bathroom (they provided a cot for our little one), and a very well equipped kitchen. Isaque and his mom were very responsive, caring and available, made our stay super comfortable, providing some nice little "gifts" and local treats for us to enjoy along the days. We had a lovely and peaceful time. The pool is amazing, it had nice views as well. Not much to do around the area (I'd recommend to take everything you need for the entire stay), just little walks or hiking (you need a car to reach the closest town or the mini market), so if you are looking to spend some days with family, just enjoying nature and away from the every-day-rush, this is your place.

Few words reflect how good our stay at Iris D'Arga was. João and Astrid are lovely hosts who make you feel at home from the start. The house is beautiful and well decorated and equipped, even inspiring. The pool is great for spending great summer afternoons. And Serra D'Arga is magnificent. For those who like trails, biking, waterfalls, fauna, etc., I recommend it 200%. If you don't like any of that, the recommendation is the same because there is no shortage of things to do around Covas. In short, super recommended and we still came away with a great memory of wood from such a wise workshop with João.

Very friendly. They described the space well and still showed how to get inside. Ease of communication. And an amazing house in a quiet area!

The apartment was as described. I was very good in terms of cleanliness as in location. 20 minutes to Plaza de la Republica. The area is a residential neighborhood with a supermarket 2 minutes from the house. Maria has been a great host who has helped us with everything we needed. Thank you so much.

This is a great huge appartment with 2 bedrooms, hall, dining room and big kitchen with ocean view. The 4th flow allows to see the town and ocean. 15 minutes to the embankment, center with a lot of cafees and restaurants. Great bonus is the parking place near the house. The coast and views are awesome.

The house is very good, clean, comfortable, with all equipment for a great stay. Tania is a kind person, concerned with offering the best, and quick responses. It made our check-out flexible, and since the wi-fi was slow on account of the supplier company, it immediately provided a signal repeater that solved the problem. I would!

Abi and Regina are exceptional hosts who made our stay memorable. We especially enjoyed the tour of the animation museum by Abi which was fascinating The property is very lovely, the flower and vegetable gardens are incredible and the whole ambience is very relaxing. A perfect place to stay for several days. We thoroughly recommend staying here and look forward to returning

We had a great time at Fernandes place. The apartment was very comfortable with a big terrace in the sun. And the location is marvelous once you get used to the steep climbs by car... But most of all, Fernández was a very attentfull and friendly host...

We had such an amazing, relaxing stay at this beautiful home. The location could not be better, we watched the sun set every night from the balcony. The place itself is pristine, beautifully decorated and felt like home. We cannot say enough about this amazing place! Couldn’t recommend more and hope to go back one day!

We were invited to a wedding at the Quinta Solar da Levado in Amares, Cidalia's house is quite close (8 min) which is rather appreciable in case of fatigue. The house is very, very large and clean on a double level. A beautiful vegetable/flower garden is a great way to enjoy the good weather. Cidalia is very responsive and gives very clear instructions. As a traveler, just remember to bring cash to pay the municipal tax.

very beautiful house with a maintained garden. very pretty pool too. the owner was kind enough to give us clean sheets and towels in the middle of the stay, as well as vegetables from his garden. the only downside is the busy street but we knew it when booking.

The property is outstanding.. fantastic modern well designed property. Nice position and great amenities. we had hoped we could have stayed longer than we did. Communication was spot on too. Definitely a stay again property.

We had a wonderful stay at Casa de Vilar de Rei where we spent two weeks as a family. If you are looking for a peaceful oasis surrounded by nature and a place to completely switch off from the world, this is it. Marta and her father Daniel were the perfect hosts - responsive, helpful and kind. Our 1-year-old son had the time of his life riding Daniel's tractor, meeting the chickens, and picking fresh fruit and vegetables from the garden. The pool is shared with the other house but there is plenty of space for everyone and we had very nice neighbours during our stay. There are lots of places to sit and relax or read in the garden - day beds, swings, benches, or the veranda with a beautiful view of the surrounding fields. The garden is also full of herbs and lemon trees. The house inside is very well equipped, and the bed linen and towels are immaculate. We had a fantastic time and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this little piece of countryside heaven. Thank you Marta and Daniel!

A big thank you to Sergio for hosting us in perfect French: a small bottle and delicious pastries were waiting for us in the fridge. He gave us very good advice on places to visit in the area. The accommodation was as described. Sergio has a beautiful and large house that's very clean. The garden is very nice but unfortunately we didn't get a chance to use it too much because the weather didn't allow it.

We spent 10 days in the country house and had such a lovely stay. Vania made us feel welcome and provided us with all we needed for our baby. The house is charming, authentic yet clean and equipped with all you need. The location has a lot to offer on a day trip and transport to Porto and the airport is easy. This experience is beyond what can be expected from the average Airbnb, have already recommended to friends and family and we hope to come back :-)
