TAKIO 3 guesthouse

HaoxuanRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Very classic Japanese homestay, beautifully decorated.Although it is a bit far from the city center, it is in a residential area. When you walk from the B&B to the station, you can see other Japanese-style houses, which is very atmospheric. The price is actually about the same as the hotel in the city center, the main thing is the experience. The host Makoto is very nice, pick up and drop off for check-in and check-out, and will introduce the facilities around the homestay when you check in.We tried the Osakayaki he recommended, and it was quite delicious. There are also different activities every month, and if you catch up, you can join guests from different countries.

Traditional tatami Japanese style

YuechenRating, 5 stars1 week ago
The owner and the room are very good, and the yard is also very beautiful.Very happy to experience a traditional Japanese room. The check-in information was like handwritten, very thoughtful, and there was a name tag at the door.I tasted the fruit tea made by the hostess☺️ and she asked if I needed to be sent to the station the next day.The house is downhill under another smaller entrance of Koizumi Shrine, and the surroundings are quiet. It was raining on the way there. At first, I walked to the main gate of the shrine (actually, I could just walk through the shrine), but I met a very kind grandfather who searched the map and sent me to the door. I was really lucky.I found a delicious restaurant nearby.

I stayed here for 2 days and had a great time. The beds are very comfortable and the shared spaces are very nice and well-maintained. It was fun to socialize with other guests and meet new people. Highly recommend!

2 min from station, best for WFH + Hollywood twin

I had such a wonderful time at this beautiful , clean, architecturally sophisticated modern home. I experienced a generous young couple , smart and intelligent businesslady Maya and her wonderful partner Hide made me feel like being at a home away from home. The quiet location is well connected , 5 minutes from the station and perfect to explore Nara and Kyoto being only 40 minutes away .The house has all the amenities you could dream of , a very nice touch is the free organic tea , mineral water and a luxury bonus is the filtered shower keeping you clean and fresh , super valueable in a hot japanese summer .Being worldtravelers themselves representing the best of a young japanese generation who is openminded it was great fun and fascinating to talk and on many occasions i was impressed with their knowledge and insights of traditional and modern Japan .Thankyou so much for your wonderful hospitality you are the ( secret ) Airbnb superstars one can only dream of . Love you guys !

The boss is super nice, proactively helping to move luggage, and lending us a flashlight and stick to climb Mount Dajishan at night. It is very convenient to tour the Blow Man Sanctuary. When you come out, it is the Kuya West Bridge (Uji Bridge). Walk along the Uji River and there is Kumiko's chair.

[Stay at a 100-year-old traditional inn] Private room for 1-2

OliviaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
My partner and I stayed here at the beginning of June 2025. We were visiting from Canada for the first time. This airbnb was exactly what we were looking for. We booked the private room for 1-2 people, with the traditional tatami beds. On the main floor is a cafe, with lovely coffee, drinks and food. The staff members were extremely helpful and polite throughout our stay, making it extremely enjoyable. The location was ideal, being walking distance or a short train ride away from major landmarks and attractions. The air bnb was extremely clean. It can be noted that there is an accommodation tax that is required for each tourist that is to be paid in cash as well as a towel rental fee. Overall, I would recommend this air bnb to anyone planning a stay in Kyoto.
