Pet-friendly holiday rentals in Michigan City

I LOVE this place. I stay here often when traveling for work. It literally feels like home at this point. Bob and the Blue Herron team are super responsive or none at all depending on how often you choose to communicate. They make sure the place is clean and accommodates everything I need for my weekly stays and it's conveniently located. While I'd hate for this spot to get too booked up, I also recognize a well run business when I see one and kudos are due! Love this place. Pick this place! It's top 5 on my favorite Airbnb list.

We had a great stay at this home! The location was perfect—just 10 minutes from the beach—which made it easy to enjoy the area. One of our favorite features was the four seasons room; it was such a cozy and relaxing spot to hang out during our trip. The house itself was very clean, open, and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this stay to others, and I really don’t have any major complaints that would have ruined the experience. That said, there were a couple of small issues. The hot tub wasn’t heated before our arrival and took over 12 hours to warm up, which was a bit disappointing for a weekend stay, as we essentially lost a day of use. However, Caitlin was extremely responsive and ready to send someone out if it didn’t reach the proper temperature. The other issue was the queen-sized bed—it was quite stiff and seemed to have a broken frame, causing it to lean and making it uncomfortable to sleep

This location was clean, quiet and comfortable. Perfect spot for enjoying the Dunes, hiking and birdwatching. I own a non-Tesla electric vehicle and there was a reliable set of chargers (6) at the Meijer store 5 miles away.

My family and I had a lovely summer Indiana Dunes weekend at Jill’s place. The house was clean, cozy, and well-stocked. We loved the bikes and covered back porch. It was nice to be right on the Calumet trail, in biking distance to beaches. We took a 25 minute drive to Garwood’s and came home with a boatload of strawberries, and took a beautiful sunset dip in Lake Michigan. Thanks for the fun weekend!

Place was as advertised, not much to complain about at all. Easy to find, clear communications, clean place. Only criticism I’d have is there is no closet/drawer space in the first bedroom, would recommend putting a nightstand or something in there if possible. Thanks Brooke!

We really enjoyed our stay at Jennifer’s house! It was clean, great location & cozy! We especially loved the automatic pool cover so we could actually relax on vacation with our little ones running around. I also loved the three separate areas outside (pool, fire pit, grassy area). The separate areas offered a nice change of scenery to break up the day without leaving the house. I also loved that it’s a spacious ranch style house, so was easy to keep eyes on the kids. Jennifer was a wonderful & accommodating host & can’t wait to get back to her house soon! Thanks for having us!

This was ur second stay at Andrew’s and it didn’t disappoint. He worked with us last minute to make a reservation so we had somewhere to stay. A friend of ours passed away and we didn’t have a lot of planning time. We love that the place has a pack n play, high chair, and some kids toys & dishes. Things like that make a stay with children much smoother. Thanks again for another great experience.

Host was very responsive and helpful. we enjoyed our stay and would definitely return. Kids loved the pool and outside area! Great location and the house is decorated very beautifully! The kitchen provides everything you need to cook a meal also.

We had a great stay! The house was perfect. It was nice and clean with a great rooftop deck and screened in porch. The location could not have been better, walking distance to everything in town. Everything was easy as far as check in and check out with a book explaining everything in the house. Mark was great at responding to questions. I would highly recommend staying here.

This is our 3rd year in a row to come for an extended Labor Day weekend and bring our kids and/or grandkids. We love the setting. The pool is perfect for the younger kids and the adults appreciate the beauty of all the surroundings, including at poolside. If we could change anything at all we would add another bedroom as we can't quite get all of our extended family here at one time. That said, we would like to return for a 4th year at Labor Day weekend time next year. The combination of beauty, privacy, amenities, condition (always in great shape!), and proximity to lovely South Haven can hardly be beat!

We loved our stay. Kids especially loved the pool and hot tub. We brought our King Charles cav who loved walks along the road that runs parallel to the lake. We walked to whistlestop cafe for coffee and breakfast and hit up the private beach one night. So pretty. The house had some of the best beds I’ve ever slept on in an air bnb and the train did not bother us- they had sound machines in every room. I loved the cozy surroundings and all of the vintage touches of this home. Would stay again.

Great stay! Loved the pool and lanai. Had fun playing the board games from the 80s and 90s. Great, well equipped kitchen - even a blender for smoothies! Linens were amazingly comfortable.

We had a lovely family reunion at St Joe’s overlook. Kitchen came with literally everything- all sorts of cooking instruments (crock pot, air fryer, toaster etc), spices/oils, and zip lock bags for leftovers. All brand new appliances and ample prep space. We got the pool heated and it was wonderful! Very large size to fit all the family kids. The hot tub was a nice save for the adults who were freezing. Beautiful views from the living room of the river with ample and comfy seating. The home was perfect for a large gathering. We appreciate Evan and Claire hosting us they were always responsive and helpful.

Lovely home, many well thought out perks like fans in upstairs rooms and beach toys for kids! Info said it was an easy short walk to beach so I spent a whole lot more than I usually would. With children it would not be pleasant and is really not a short walk (and is on a semi busy road) & beach is down a whole lot of steps. BUT there are parking spaces so it was fine. Within the house, the steps are fairly steep at parts & there are 2?big ones going into house &!these were hard for my 70 year old mom w knee issues. So if person reading reviews is one of those people, this might not be THE place. That being said, it is very short walk to community pool & host is very responsive & house is beautiful! My mom mostly stayed within first floor including an awesome bed/bath on ground floor. There are games (although I didn’t love the Ouija board 🫣😂) . This would be a great place for multiple family / friends to split cost ;) Its very beautiful & community pool & hot tub are great!

Had a lovely time staying at Elsa's place. it was so close to the beach that we were there every day! There were some cute little thrift shops and eateries around and plenty of walking trails at the state park. it was the perfect mix of outdoorsy activities with the comforts of home. The house was easy to find and had a super cute patio area for playing games and sitting by a little campfire. The fenced in yard was great for our pup and I imagine kids would appreciate the play set. Would definitely recommend!

We stayed here for the weekend because of its close proximity to Notre Dame for graduation. This is a truly unique house with beautiful surroundings. The neighborhood was peaceful, and there is a school just down the street with plenty of grass and open space if you have a dog to walk. The bed was comfortable and the record player was a nice touch. Jina also provided an extensive restaurant recommendation list, and everything was delicious. The house is a short drive to Lake Michigan, and there is a public beach you can access. I wish we could have stayed longer!

Nothing but great things to say / check-in was seamless and communication was perfect. The place was also top notch of course.

We had a great 1 night stay here. It was just as described and the location is a very short walk to a coffee shop, the restaurants on the Main Street, and all the antique shops. Everything was very clean, the kitchen was well equipped, and very comfy bed.

Simply beautiful! My daughter ( 7 year old) and my goddaughter ( 5 year old) enjoyed themselves! We loved the layout, beautiful scenery, spacious rooms, the updated amenities, the spa bathtub and the outdoor patio swing is amazing! This house is somewhere you can relax and rewind, enjoy yourself and feel safe at! Angie, is the best! I recommend you stay at Angie’s beach house! You will love this house!!!!!!

Had such a nice time enjoying the jacuzzi and deck! Hosts were very communicative, but not bothersome. Space was very clean and comfortable. Would definitely come back!

This AirBnB was exactly what we needed for a family of 6 getaway with a 10-month old baby and a dog! The house is exactly as photographed with stunning views of the lake and the sunset. The path to the lake is right across the street and easily accessible. The beach is absolutely stunning with soft white sand and beautiful dunes as a backdrop. The host has beach chairs and a wagon available for use. For anyone interested in this AirBnB because they allow dogs, the beach was extremely dog friendly and with as much space as you have on the beach he actually had space to run and romp in the water without disturbing anyone. We discovered that Michigan City may not have the most vibrant downtown or restaurant scene, but if you're looking to grill in, lounge in the sun room, sit around the fire, this place couldn't have been more perfect. We had a slight hiccup with one of the breakers being blown, but the host was so quick in his response time the issue lasted about 10 minutes.
