Oriya is a private lodge that is limited to one group per day. Outside the window, beautiful and calm sea and lush mountain scenery spreads out. Not only the scenery, but also the town itself is charming. Also it’s close to world heritage of “Kumanokodo”. It is possible to come to this place by public transportation.

My property is located in Shima City, surrounded by greenery and with view on the sea. This is the perfect place if you want to unwind and be away from the busy city life. The BBQ in the garden is free to use. I teach surfing classes nearby. BBQ is also possible in the courtyard. *BBQ equipment rental (charged 5,000 yen). Please bring your own ingredients, including yakiniku sauce. You are free to use the sauna in the courtyard. It is recommended for long-term stays as it has all the necessities of life.

Ocean View Retreat in a Quiet Fishing Village

This is a private, whole-house guesthouse located in the quiet fishing village of Nigishima, Kumano City, Mie Prefecture. On the way to Nigishima, you’ll be greeted by the deep blue ocean known as “Kumano Blue,” and the house sits overlooking the calm waters of Nigishima Bay. To reach the house, you will need to climb approximately 50 steps (about a 5-minute walk), but a beautiful view and peaceful atmosphere await you at the top.

Mikiura Guesthouse 三木浦ゲストハウス

Reservation start from 2 person / 2 nights minimum. We accept only one group at a time so you will have exclusive use of the entire property. Guesthouse is a typical old Japanese house, not like a resort Hotel or Ryokan for business. We have no meal service. Mikiura village is surrounded by the clear blue sea and natural green mountains. You'll enjoy real Japan such as rural life experience, quiet time and beautiful nature.
