Beachfront holiday rental in Mirissa

The stay was great all around – the accommodation was clean, cozy and exactly as described. I would especially like to highlight the host: incredibly friendly, helpful and always available. Wow wow, we had an incredible stay! The housekeeper Ari and his wife amita were so so kind, the oceanfront location was impeccable, we had an issue with the electric, but thanks to Rebecca’s quick and helpful service it was taken care of promptly and professionaly, I would highly recommend this property!

The beach hut is a wonderful place to stay in a beautiful green location. The hut is basic but has everything you need, just a step away from the beach. The hosts are very helpful, and their restaurant across the street is definitely worth a visit. This place is highly recommended!

We have just got home after our trip to the Tropical Beach House in Hikkaduwa. What a totally lovely time away. Great communication with Gavin prior to the visit and out in touch with Darmith (house keeper) and taxi transport for arrival. We arrived at 2am to be met by Darmith and Saji (security) and felt at home straight away. Darmith had collected fridge essentials before we arrived so we were set up for the following morning. The house and gardens are lovely, the sound of the ocean 24/7 is just perfect and the house was spotlessly clean with good facilities. Sangrita helped to provide us with Sri Lankan breakfast foods, loved the Dahl curry and the hoppers but also gave us an awesome Brit breakfast of eggs and bacon! Chandra was on hand at night to cook a bbq which was tasty and varied. We used Tuk tuks to get out and about during our stay which were easy to find. Any issues we had were resolved quickly. Lots of local bars and eateries along the beach or further into Hikkaduwa.

We spent a month here – it's almost a perfect place! The Internet is ideal for work, including video calls. Comfortable bed with new mattress. The bathroom is a delight! The toilet and shower are separated from each other, and the hot water is really unlimited hot water and with great pressure. The kitchen has everything except the Turks for making coffee, but it's a small thing. We made friends with our dogs and played often. They really bark, but only when someone comes, which in our case was very rare. The hosts are wonderful people, it was easy and pleasant to communicate on all issues. There is no noise insulation between our and neighboring apartments at the expense of a thin door in an adjacent wall. We rented this apartment too and used them as a separate office. When someone arrives at the villa, you can hear absolutely everything that happens on the street at any time of the day. In any case, my rating is 10 out of 10 because all the listed pros more than compensate for the minor shortcomings. Thank you!

Shamil was responsive and helpful. We were in a bit of situation to find last minute accommodation. Shamil was helpful to enable the check in at 10pm. This was a huge relief for us. A great host!

Sahan’s beautiful airbnb is a little gem in Weligama. I would 100% recommend. He greeted us at check in and made sure we had everything we needed throughout our stay. The place itself and the pool especially are absolutely gorgeous! The perfect location for a little retreat. Thanks Sahan!

Lovely stay at the Blues for five of us attending a nearby wedding. Spacious grounds with colourful bird life, lizards and monkeys swinging from the trees. Lovely pool, could have spent the week lazing on the sunbeds. The two ladies at the house were always discreet, helpful and even prepared a lovely Sri Lankan curry on our late arrival due to the plane being diverted. They even cleaned the bbq for us. The house was clean, very spacious and steeped in Colonial history. As for Janaka, I can’t praise him enough. He went over and above to help and support every thing we did. He organised taxis, Tuk Tuks and even drove us into the neighbouring town for a bit of sightseeing and food and drinks purchasing on our first day. He spoke excellent English and would interpret for us if required. Lovely people, great property and a beautiful country. Will return in the future.

Wonderful spacious place with fresh renovation and mesmerizing ocean view. Very easy to to contact your host and staff. Lots of places around, 1 minute to the ocean. There is a minimum set of detergents - shower gels and shampoos. Clean enough, but the kitchen is starting to feel a little musty. For this season, it can look a little expensive and I want to expect more details at this price category - slippers, bathrobes, toothbrushes, more towels, shaving accessories, but these are more points for improvement, still this is an apartment, not a hotel. 11/10 :)

We had a wonderful stay at Catherine’s cottage. Location was good; walkable to the beach. It is hard to fully explain just how spacious the cottage is - every room is large and well thought out, even the outside veranda is enormous. The children loved the little pool, it was absolutely perfect to end our Sri Lankan adventure. Thank you.

Loved the villa! Right on the beach. Spacious. Loved the simple, elegant interiors, and the muted lighting. We all had a great time in the pool by the beach. The speaker is awesome. Jaan was always prompt in responding. And they proactively informed us that we could check out late as they had no booking on that day - thank you Jaan. The local caretaker Gayan, who lives nearby, comes every day to clean the pool and was helpful. He also drives a tuktuk himself. He came to check on us a few times despite his son being unwell - thank you Gayan. There is a supermarket at a walking distance and a restaurant (called A2). The main town, restaurants, touristy shops are less than 3 kms away and tuktuks are very easily available for hire (the pickme app worked like a charm). We stayed during the off season, so it is quite likely that during the peak season, there are beachfront restaurants and bars operational at a walking distance from the villa.

We had a fantastic time with our family at villa Salina. It is really recommended to celebrate your vacation in this house. Everyone was waiting for us. We had a fantastic meal. Wonderful swimming.

A fantastic stay at The One led by the most wonderful staff who come daily to assist with the property and food. I will absolutely be returning and highly recommend!

Sophie is a wonderful host—friendly, responsive, and helpful throughout our stay. The villa exceeded our expectations; it’s even better than the photos! The location is perfect for a beach holiday, just a short ride from Unawatuna where you’ll find great restaurants and bars. While getting an Uber or cab can occasionally be tricky, tuk-tuks are always readily available and add to the local charm. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing getaway.

We had a lovely time at Luca's place. The house has everything you need for a great rest. You will be able to observe the few animals that roam freely in the garden. The pool is a big plus in the heat of Sri Lanka. The house is incredibly clean and the people who work there are very nice. Nimesh will help you with any questions, you can contact them at any time. He took us to change money, showed us where the best places to dine were and organized all the excursions for us. He also took care of our trip and picked us up from the airport. Throughout, we were able to enjoy the wonderful dinners prepared by Nirosha including a great seafood barbecue. The house is very well located: only a short walk to the beach and all restaurants/shops. Feel free to book your stay in this house, it's a real little paradise.

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful villa, located right on the serene and picturesque Talpe Beach. The calm, crystal-clear waters were perfect for calm bathing, and we were lucky enough to spot massive turtles every morning! We loved the option of cooking for ourselves, and the fully equipped kitchen made it easy to prepare meals. The vibrant markets in Galle, just a 15-minute drive away, offered an incredible variety of fresh seafood, fruits, and vegetables, which was a real treat. If you prefer, Anjalee, the lovely housekeeper, is also available to cook you breakfast. The villa was impeccably clean, and the communication with Jack was seamless and clear from start to finish. It was the perfect place to unwind, and we couldn’t have asked for a better experience!

5 min from the beach and up in the jungle, it’s the best place to stay if your looking for the calm. Breakfast and Yoga sessions were great. The staff very kind. I recommend 100%.

The house was absolutely stunning amidst 7 acres of green lush gardens. Everything was exquisitely decorated making it the perfect sanctuary to relax and enjoy Mirissa. Close to Mirissa beach and also 10 -15 min walk to secret beach so lots of options nearby. Jankana and the team made delicious meals for us every day with an abundance of choice and variety too! Jankana offered us great local recommendations too for surfing. Laundry was also returned back to us within a few hours which was so welcome after a week on the road. Just such a special place!

This was our first trip to Sri Lanka, and it was truly unforgettable! Nipuni was an incredibly kind and friendly host. She was always quick to reply and shared helpful recommendations. We were lucky to have a wonderful family dinner with Nipuni and her mom , they you cooked an amazing local dishes for us, and we had such a great time together. OMG we love her crepes!!! It was by far the best stay we’ve had in Sri Lanka — a whole floor of the house with a private entrance and terrace, clean and cozy rooms with air conditioning (a rare find in Sri Lanka ), comfy beds, a great kitchen, and a perfect quiet location away from the road noise. I highly recommend staying here, and I would love to come back again!

Amazing host and the space was extremely homely. It was picturesque and exactly as the photos advertised. The amenities were functional and the space in itself was well maintained and clean. It was an Eco-friendly abode. It was a calm and peaceful stay. A little away from the hustle and bustle but the distance to other restaurants and shops were pretty close by and walkable. Transportation was also easily available.

True local experience! Dinner was awesome, and the view from the top deck was a delight, plenty of birds,squirrels and monkeys to watch. Excellent value for money. Please note that the location on the map is incorrect - the property is further up and took me about 7-8 minutes to walk to the beach. Own transport would be ideal in this location - I had difficulties with PickMe but kindly the host would source me a tuktuk from the village :)
