It sits high on a hill in the heart of Maryland's Appalachian Mountains in Allegany County. It is surrounded by views of Wills Mountain and Shrivers Ridge. The Cottage sits amongst a 660 acre family managed forest. Visitors have spotted deer, turkey, rabbits, squirrels, black bear and a multitude of song birds.

Built in 1837, this three bedroom, 1 1/2 bath farmhouse sitting on 110 acres along Will Creek, the start of Wills Knob with Wills Mountain to the south was first transacted in 1728 when a Shawnee Indian known as "Will" sold 1000 acres to Benjamin Tomlinson for $30 and an old Rifle. This 110 acres was part of that 1000 acres! Farmhouse is registered in the Maryland Historic Society and has been restored to original floors from 1837 and original staircase and living room walls. Lovely, private home overlooking our beautiful valley with breathtaking views of Wills Mountain. It is the perfect setting for a family retreat/reunion. The ranch house has a red roof in the pictures. My husband & I live in the 3 story. We have a in-ground pool on property (heated from Mid-May to early September), a gas grill, and fire pit on the large scenic patio for your enjoyment. The large windows & patio offer a spectacular view of Wills Mt. The ranch house offers a quiet getaway retreat.

Our Cottage is located at the base of a mountain on a dead end road it is very tranquil with a lot of deer and wildlife that feed in the back yard. We are 15 minutes from the city of Cumberland Maryland where the “Western Maryland Bike Trail” is located and 30 minutes from historic Bedford, PA. The Cottage has two bedrooms that each feature queen size beds, one living room with a pull out queen size sofa bed, and a sitting room with a full size pull out sofa bed. We also have central air!!

We stayed here for work and it was a delightful escape from a hotel room. This place feels so homey and comfortable! I loved the artwork, old style furniture, and old charm of the house. There’s everything you need in the kitchen and bathroom with your choice of porches to relax on. One porch in the front and one in the back. Neighbors were friendly and loved to say hello while walking their dogs. We felt right at home. Kathryn is super responsive to any messages. We highly recommend a peaceful retreat to this cozy home!!

Very comfortable home with lots of horses outside the windows! My daughter wanted to ride so for 2 days she rode in the very large barn. It was too cold to ride outside. Lacy was very responsive the couple of times we needed her. Great place to stay if you like horses and quiet! Do bring food and supplies with you- nothing near in the way of food. We also drove over to Bedford Springs Resort, about 50 minutes. Well worth the drive, also the town is very cute.

This was our 2nd year at Kay's home, while attending Delfest. Kay's home could not be more perfect. It's a peaceful, cozy respite from whatever your day brings, with birds in the pristine yard, comfortable and practical furnishings and even a basket of the most common items people forget to bring with them! We loved the addition this year of the huge sectional couch! There are a variety of art supplies and games available - even the box of crayons provided inspiration to create drawings in the field, while enjoying bluegrass in the mountains. There are a ton of spices available for cooking, lots and lots of kitchen supplies - including lots of plastic containers for leftovers, the choice of a Kuerig or drip coffee machines, toaster, ziplock bags and foil, etc. You want for nothing when you come here. We cannot wait to return year after year. Thank you for everything, Kay!

I had a wonderful weekend at Al's place. The cabin was perfect for my peaceful time in Frostburg and surrounding areas. The hosts were informative and provided areas to see the sunset and sunrises. It was too cold to use the pool but the offer was there. I will be back.

This home was absolutely adorable. I appreciate the effort to keep the nostalgia of the homes style. So much attention to detail in every piece of furniture and decoration. My favorite accents were the light switches, the bathroom scale, and the phone table/seat (my son wouldn’t know what to do with this or why it was ever made). I truly loved this home. We were in town to golf at Rocky Gap. The price and experience to stay here was much better than the hotel. I am so glad we chose this spot. Just a quick drive from the resort, and close to a great restaurant. If you get a chance check out Puccini’s while you visit. 5 stars all the way. No complaints.
