Beachfront holiday rental in Mount Waddington

This BnB was a wonderful escape and peaceful place to stay while visiting our kids and Grandkids in Alert Bay. We loved the location, view, decor, and how comfortable the furniture was. We had a fabulous time and felt right at home. My husband and I said to each other several times during our 4 day stay, “I love this house!” The attention to detail and passion for the decor was a lovely surprise. It felt like an honour to be able to stay in this space. And, we saw Orcas and an impressive regatta go right by in front of the house! ❤️

This is a 5* Air B&B because there are so few reviews vs the number of comments in the visitor book the average has been artificially brought down. There are some old lower scoring reviews from 10+ years ago, place has been remodelled since then. One guest complained of spiders webs (this is deep in the country)! So so peaceful with wildlife such as deer and we got to see a hump back from the beach. The cottage is sympathetically decorated in keeping with its age and style. It is not a super modern Four Seasons - and all the better for it. Our host Lauren could not have been more helpful. Our ferry was delayed because of technical issues and Lauren not only kept us informed, she was extremely flexible about checking in. The freshly baked cookies on arrival were a very lovely touch. She was there if we needed anything but in no way intrusive - perfect host. If you seek peach and quiet in the middle of nature this is definitely the place for you - we loved it.

This place is exactly what it looks online. Beautiful view, peaceful surroundings, beside the water and a cosy cottage with everything you need. Cathy was a responsive host and we cannot wait to come back!

We had an incredible stay at the Founders villa. The air bnb had exceeded our expectations, the photos did not do the place justice. We did a fishing charter with Jeff which was a highlight for our group- would definitely recommend that! The general store had all the basic necessities in case you forget anything and all the staff were very helpful with assisting us to make sure we were taken care of. The beautiful views from each room, the sound of the creek beside the house, and the sound of a crackling fire made for a very peaceful retreat. We were very sad to leave when it was time to say goodbye. We hope to be back sometime!

We had a wonderful stay at Julie's Airbnb. The location is absolutely great and you have a huge window to look at the ocean (if its raining) or you just take 2 steps outside and you are directly at the shore. Inside you have everything you need and it is very clean. Julie and Ian are wonderful people. We would definitely stay here again.

Truly a special place if you’re equipped to make the journey. We used it as base camp to explore the area, fish, and find wildlife on our 20 ft hewes craft. Camille was available and responsive when needed and generous with her local knowledge. The dogs kept us safe and gave us lots of love :)

I've rented Orca before and has been great! everything you need for a comfy stay. this trip had to be canceled due to 2 family members getting very sick. received a quick response & partial refund that I was extremely happy about. good doing business with the host Larry. thank you

Nina and Scott were great hosts! We rented the whole lodge and had a wonderful and peaceful long stay. They were very responsive with any questions we had throughout the stay as they were not on site. The only flag is the wifi can be spotty, maybe more to do with remote location! Remote work is possible but video calls can be spotty. Will definitely be back :)

We had an incredible stay at Loon Point Cottage! The location is breathtaking—right on the water with stunning views and total privacy. The cottage itself was spotless, cozy, and had everything we needed for a relaxing and comfortable stay. You can really tell how much thought and care Kate has put into every detail. She was a wonderful host—friendly, responsive, and made sure we felt completely at home. We especially loved sitting out on the deck, watching the seals, eagles and whales and enjoying the peaceful surroundings. It was the perfect place to unwind and reconnect with nature. BEST. TRIP. EVER! The Whale House is a gem! This little slice of heaven has gorgeous views from every room. The house is secluded and serene but is a quick drive to town and surrounding activities. The house has every amenity, and as a bonus, there is a crab pot and instructions on how to crab! It was enjoyable. The northern end of Vancouver Island has many things to do- fishing, whale watching, Grizzly bear viewing, kayaking and so much more. You can also relax easily in this place. Sitting on the deck, reading my book while watching the resident bald eagles go about their day was one of my favorite memories of our time there. Nancy is the best hostess. She had many recommendations and was full of good ideas to cater to the needs of our group. We will go back to the Whale House again. We were already planning our next visit as we pulled out of the driveway. :)

We spent a spectacular 3 nights at Shoal Bay in the Raven cottage. Mark and Cynthia have built an incredible homestead. We had 2 kids who happily roamed the property all day, exploring the beach, creeks and gardens. They were very sad to leave. The cottage was very comfortable. Great beds, incredible views. Well stocked kitchen. We did Discovery West to get us to and from Shoal Bay who were also wonderful. We feel very privileged to have experienced what we did. Thank you Mark and Cynthia!

Our stay at Oceanview was amazing.. We stayed for 6 nights for our anniversary trip.. Our suite was very comfortable with the most amazing views.. We were treated to cruise ships passing by our suite each night.. Lots of wildlife sightings including eagles and a quick glance of a whale.. Always something to see.. The suite is very private and our host Sherry was very kind and a wealth of information.. Quadra Island is a Beautiful, Special place to spend time

Michelle and Stephen were gracious, and accommodating. The beauty of the place, and the amazing food really make a stay there delightful. We certainly intend to return, and will stay more than just one night.

We were made to feel very welcome throughout our stay in Port Alice. The apartment looks out on a quite spectacular view and the outside space is a nice addition. Inside was everything we needed and a surprising amount of room. Thoroughly recommend and hope to return. Thank you Johan!

I reserved Susan’s place twice - once before we began the NCT and once for the day we completed the NCT. Knowing we had this cozy and equipped place to come back to was extremely comforting! Little touches that are not required but are absolutely appreciated (we were lucky enough to arrive to a plate of warm date squares!) are a throw back to the old days of Airbnb! Would recommend!

Everything was so well prepared that we had no issues in the slightest with our stay. Xin was always reaching out with things to do and places to see, making sure we were comfortable with everything. Their place has a beautiful yard with views of the ocean and we even saw the occasional deer nearby. And everything else was so comfortable and clean. Lovely place.
