Cozy guesthouse

HASHIRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Thanks for your hospitality with children. The mountain road was narrow, but I think you can climb it slowly and brightly. The children were also excited about the nature, hearing frogs, and the geckos sticking to the windows! Ryo Yasuyoshi was polite and quick to respond to messages, and I was able to communicate with peace of mind. I checked out early due to the weather and travel process, but I would like to visit again slowly.

I'm really sorry for the late comment. The place was a very stylish single-family house. There were a lot of rooms and it was very spacious. The owner was really kind, drove me to the station, and introduced me to the surrounding shops. When I was drinking at the izakaya, when I talked to the regulars and the owner, everyone knew it well and had a very good reputation. There were two dogs, which were very cute, and the cat was very cute!(By the way, I'm a cat person)

Scenic Retreat Inn Anpanman Museum 10 min walk

Perfect place to escape the city. Located in a beautiful peaceful village with scenic rice fields and old cute houses . There are lots of stunning waterfalls, rivers and mountains to visit around, but the car is necessary. There are two grocery stores in walking distance. One of them has fresh local vegetables and fruits, also fish, local honey, ice cream and many other things. The house is located in a quiet place, with tiny water channel on the property so you may hear the soothing sound of water a little bit . The window view is mesmerising, overlooking the mountains, clouds, flower field and lots and lots of birds, eagles, butterflies, bees. At night we were falling asleep with peaceful serenade of frogs 🐸, it put us to sleep very fast every day. The house is spacious, very well made, very clean. The bathtub is giant, the shower is spacious. We spent here two weeks and the only regret we have now is that we left it ! Can’t wait to stay in this house once again in my life !

I apologize for the delay in my review. I used it on my first trip to Kochi. As shown in the photos, the inside was clean and beautiful, and the atmosphere and sauna were very good.

What a great host and guesthouse full of personality! Stayed only one night, but wish I could’ve been longer. Very much recommended for anyone having an adventure in Kochi, probably one of the best guesthouses around. Totally recommended! ^^

A quiet and beautiful traditional Japanese house. The host was most amazing, kind and helpful. She picked me up from the station and gave me a ride back to there as well. Also had a good chat with her. Enjoyed my stay very much, thank you! 🙏 PS. In Susaki I tried a nabeyaki ramen restaurant ”Garo” and it was also absolutely delicious. Definitely try out nabeyaki ramen when visiting Susaki as it’s their local delicacy.

We enjoyed our time driving around Shikuko. Our Host very kindly let us rent his personal car for our duration of stay, at a very affordable rate. Our host picked us up from the train station and gave us a lift to the train on the day we checked out, which was very kind and helpful. Nankoku and Kochi are very quiet places but a good place to base yourself if you want to drive and explore the island as a whole. Shikuko is not very tourist but we prefer that kind of travel anyway, which is more authentic.
