What a wonderful break I’ve had at Villa Bamboo! It is certainly the place to be. From warm, friendly hosts to a superbly-furnished space with adequate lighting and security all round. We shared many cosy evenings filled with funny banter and comfortable laughter. There was a cab on hand in case I had any errands to run, plus the home is located close enough to the necessary amenities. Villa Bamboo will definitely be my home of choice any time I am visiting this hood again. I so look forward to future visits.

Had such a fantastic time in Mbale - really can’t recommend Jane’s place enough. Jane and her family were kind and welcoming, and invited me to have dinner with them. The house was beautiful, and my room was large and spotlessly clean. Jane’s lovely housekeeper also took great care of me, making me breakfast each morning, and Jane even gave me a lift to the bus station when it was time to go. Thank you for a lovely visit!

The time in the space was truly a unique experience. We were received incredibly nicely and felt welcome right away. We were picked up in Mbale by Peter (18USD), arriving by public transport would probably be very complicated. There were 3 meals every day and water and fruit at all times, the food was always freshly cooked, local and especially delicious. The Airbnb is closely tied to a Christian community where you will be nicely welcomed, a program has been planned for us. In the other rooms there are usually volunteers who support the clinic and church. The mountainous area is impressive and you can easily hike and watch stunning sunsets.
