Tent holiday accommodation in Namib Desert

I loved my stay at Askiesbos! I was here for a month to conduct research in Nxamasere. I arrived much later in the day than I originally estimated, but Dammann and Hettie stayed in close contact with me and Dammann was waiting for me at the gate to welcome me upon arrival. They were extremely hospitable and made me feel very comfortable during my stay. They also supported my research by allowing me to use the beautiful lounge area for some of my data elicitation sessions (not to mention providing a reliable internet connection and power source, which goes a long way in my field!). The chef, Titi, cooks fantastic food that feels like dining out at a restaurant. I would definitely recommend staying here for vacations or for work.

Staff was so helpful, restaurant was a welcome convenience after a long days travel!

Total Serenity. friendly and helpful hosts . felt like home and leaving was hard. extended a week further and already planning to go back. Thank you Claire, Ben,Esther, Claires Mum and brother Simon and everyone .all made our stay memorable.Shawn

We loved being here! The tent was nice and comfortable for two. The kitchen and common area is big and very pleasant. But more importantly we had Hippos, elephants, crocodile (in the river), birds, frogs…and two cats basically living with us 😄

Diese Unterkunft ist sehr weiter zu empfehlen. Wir hatten ein privates Zweibettzimmer und Gemeinschaftsräume, wie Badezimmer und Küche. Die Unterkunft bietet vielerlei Unternehmungen an, zu denen man gebracht und abgeholt wird. Auch Safaris bieten sie zu einem sehr faireren Preis an. Alle Mitarbeiter sind zudem sehr freundlich und immer ansprechbar.

To be able to camp and have wildlife all around including elephants roaming through the camp ground was amazing. Security on at night keeping everyone safe. Large outdoor kitchen shared with other campers clean and well stocked with utensils. Swimming Pools needed some attention which they were working on. Nice comfy common area to relax in. Mosquito netting provided and spray for the tents which was needed. Campers in trucks parked very close to our tent area overlooking our outdoor shower etc. Mentioned this to Claire and it was taken care of. I needed to change my check out date, this was my 1st experience having to do this through Air BNB still wanting to sort that out. L

Once you're there, you never want to leave. As someone who is used to so much noise, this place will keep your mind at ease and allow you to fully rest and recollect. I would come again. Despite the bugs.

Linmarie is a superb host and the place is great. Sturdy canvas dome tent, comfy bed, great linen, spotlessly clean. A fan, bedside lights- even a little carpet. Basically a glamping tent in a peaceful location with everything you could possibly need. I asked for lamb chops and salad and they were fresh and chops ready to braai. Woke up to horses and sheep and a lovely sunrise. Will definitely be back.

Die Unterkunft liegt traumhaft ruhig, perfekt zum Abschalten. Der Pool war super sauber und das Wasser glasklar – eine wunderbare Erfrischung nach einem warmen Tag. Erika hat uns abends besucht und uns tolle, persönliche Tipps für unsere Safari im Etosha Nationalpark gegeben – das war wirklich hilfreich und sehr nett von ihr. Besonders schön war auch die Outdoorküche: komplett ausgestattet, es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Und nachts unter dem afrikanischen Sternenhimmel zu sitzen – einfach magisch. Ein rundum tolles Erlebnis, das wir jederzeit weiterempfehlen können!

Great host, great value, great location!

Der Aufenthalt bei Gerald war wirklich traumhaft schön.Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt.Das Zelt war sehr gemütlich und sauber.Man kann am Pool super relaxen noch einen Aufenthalt im Moremi.Wir haben im Restaurant zu Abend gegessen und können das Essen und das Personal zu 100% empfehlen.Das Essen hat super geschmeckt und war sehr preiswert.Auf der Durchreise kann man dieses Camp sehr empfehlen.Der Weg ist gut ausgeschildert und wir haben die Unterkunft sofort gefunden. Mike’s place is an absolute gem We arrived early afternoon to be greeted by Mike and his wonderful team: Samuel, Naomi and Constancia. It’s a brilliant location for preparing to go down to Sossusvlei, Swakopmund or even if you’re thinking about heading to Spitzkop. Accommodation was excellent. Samuel took us on a short Game drive which got us acquainted with some of the wildlife of Namibia: Kudu, springbok, giraffe, blue wildebeast, jackals, partridge and more. We booked dinner and breakfast. Both were outstanding. Dinner was a range of game steaks, wonderful starter and dessert Breakfast was excellent and we were treated with boerewors. Naomi & Constancia made us “padkos” (food for the road) in the morning. Much appreciated. Mike is a wholehearted, hospitable & generous host. This is a special place and great starting point as you leave Windhoek.

We stayed at this tented camp for two nights on our way to Kasane. It can be described as having rustic charm in the midst of the bush by the river. The surroundings are beautiful and peaceful. Walking by the river at sunset was very enjoyable. There are several areas on the property where you can be by yourself or mingle with other guests. The communal kitchen was well equipped and a welcoming place for all. The host is friendly and helpful with local recommendations. We recommend this property and would happily return.

It was one of the greatest weekends to just relax! Caught big fish and will return for sure.... Next time, I will bring the whole family!

Incredible place, friendly staff, very helpful great communication. Extrememly tranquil and safe with good security. Was relaxing clean and had all ammentites u need. Ill definitly be going back!
