Great spot to rest and recharge after some days exploring the big island. Easy to park and nice to have a dedicated restroom for yourself. Room was comfy. Would come back for sure.

Yurt Glamping on Hawaii Ranch

LindseyRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had a great stay as a family of 4 (including 2 boys 4 and 5yrs old). Instructions were clear and easy to find (in daylight). Everything was as pictured and very clean and comfortable. Lots of games and puzzles provided which was fun during down time when we weren’t out exploring. There was also a steel tongue drum that my 4yr old quite enjoyed. Nice to watch the cows from the window as well as 2 ducks and a goose roaming around. The coqui frogs are quite noisy at night but we got used to it by night 2 and 3; ear plugs and white noise helps too. Overall it was an awesome retreat for us and would stay again!

Guava Ohana

This was the perfect R&R space for my friend and I after a very stressful day of travel - the space was amazing, the host was incredibly kind and communicative (even brought us fresh eggs one morning!) and the nature around the tiny home was simply beautiful.

Hale Maluhia

This was our second time to the island but first time with 2 toddlers. We wanted something more peaceful on the more rural side. This home did not disappoint! The directions were really easy to follow to get there and unlocking the place. This was a perfect size for our family. We were so happy to see a screened in Lanai that was attached to the living room so it opened up into one long room. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking. Its very close to Volcanos National Park (we got to see it erupting on the 24th). 30-ish minutes from Hilo If you are looking for island time (slow paced, family, go with the flow) kind of stay book this place! .

Hale Ohia Nui Nestled in the Forest

We had an incredible month-long stay at Tamara’s place in Pahoa! Her home was spotless, well-equipped, and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. Tamara was an excellent host, always quick to respond and resolve any requests. The location is truly magical—nestled in the heart of a lush rainforest with friendly neighbors, it’s a peaceful and unique setting. The proximity to Hilo and the Kalapana area was fantastic. We loved visiting the vibrant Uncle Awa’s night market on Wednesday evenings and the lively Sunday drum circle in Seaview Estates which is just a 15-minute drive away. Pahoa itself is a charming town with welcoming and helpful locals. It’s also a great base for exploring the island: Volcanoes National Park is only 40 minutes away, Mauna Kea about 45 minutes, and even Kona is in drivable distance. A delightful surprise was the two adorable stray cats that often visited—they added so much charm to our stay. Thanks Tamara for making our stay so memorable!

It was our 40th Airbnb and by far the most beautiful accommodation we ever had. Everything was very clean. Suparmarkets and good restaurants were very close. We spent a perfect time here. The hosts are as sweet as it gets and we fell in Love with them. We didnt feel like guests, but family members. Thanks for all aunt Mandy and Uncle Kelly, love you guys and see you soon!
