Garden estate is located 20 minutes drive from the Nadzab airport in Lae Morobe Province of Papua New Guinea. It is a farm house with lots of cocoa, coconut and chicken farms. Cooking food is in a modest kitchen area with gas stove or an open fire outside the fire place. Toilet shower is upstairs with gravity feed water tank pumped from a water well. 3 x bedrooms with double bed bunks. It gets hot during the day in the tropic and best spend the day outside in the flower gardens and pond.

This is a homestay For NON westerners🙏If Youre looking For a place That has tons of Papuan culture nearby and is in the center of a Papuan village, is super cheap, has a very attentive host, then this might be for you. Abraham非常nice，很开心能跟他们一家人度过一天。因为airbnb上面的房源已经被人预订了，所以Abraham邀请我去他家住。因为担心我找不到地方，他来机场接我，还一路跟着我坐的yellow car。Abraham家非常干净，有一个单独的小房间让我住，虽然没有空调和电扇，但晚上不怎么热。他的妻子很温柔，女儿和儿子也都很可爱。他还邀请我跟他们一起吃晚餐和早餐，虽然都是很简单的食物，但是真的让人觉得很温暖。我们聊了很多，一切都很愉快。唯一有点麻烦的是，他家有一点偏，不在主路上，所以不太好找，离中心地区也比较远。It is so nice of him and his family. I am very grateful to him for the cordial hospitality he accorded me.

The homestay was a truly memorable experience. communication with Joel was excellent even sending a photo of his brother and his license plate for a smooth airport pickup. They also took me to a grocery store. Despite my flight’s late arrival, they were incredibly accommodating and efficient. Upon arriving on the island, I received a warm welcome—it happened to be the opening day of the Fish Museum, adding to the unique experience.The accommodations are basic, as shown in the photos, with pit toilets and bucket showers. If you don’t like roughing it - don’t stay here. While the hut’s kitchen didn’t have propane, cooking by the fire near the water was better with ocean breeze.The villagers are super friendly and excited to speak to a foreigner. There was no hidden fees for airport pick up or boat ride, it was included in my Airbnb cost. Joels family was ready available as my tour guide or to help me. I recommend going to white sandy beach. It’s beautiful and secluded.

Wunderbarer Aufenthalt auf Fisherman Island… am Morgen einen Strandspaziergang zu lokalen Fischern… frischesten Fisch gekauft, un ihn über offenem Feuer zu grillen und zu räuchern. Herz was willst du mehr :) Unterkunft mit Dusche ist auf der ruhigeren Seite der Insel… aber kleiner Shop in der Nähe, wo man die nötigsten Sachen bekommt. Alles in allem… ein wahr gewordener Traum und ein tiefer Einblick in die lokale Kultur. Danke für den schönen Aufenthalt.

Susan‘s family is simply great. They met us at the airport and went more than the extra mile to support us in any possible way while staying with them before and after our Sepik tour which they can also recommend guides for as they are well connected in the region. We learnt so much from them about life in PNG and they showed aus around town, ready to answer any question and giving us a lift whenever needed. Also they ensured we did not get stranded when planes were cancelled/delayed but brought us back to their home so that we could rest there till check-in really did materialize. Also the breakfast was heavenly ( never had such good banana muffins before , Jimaimah!). The homestead is very cozy and a real home away from home. No hotel in Wewak can compete with what Susan’s place has to offer I think, so we just hope to be back soon! 🙂 Christian and Oliver from Germany
