The Contemporary Jeweller
Studio 42’s 3-hour Jewellery Class is a creative adventure where students learn the skills to design and create a piece of silver jewellery from scratch. It’s a hands-on class full of learning, laughing and producing something exceptional to take away. WHAT CAN YOU EXPECT? To start, you will do a quick trial project to get comfortable with the tools and equipment, covering techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering and polishing. With your new skills, you will then have the freedom to design and develop a piece of silver jewellery of your choice. Depending on your designs, you may also incorporate disc cutting, roller printing, doming, texturing and blackening the metal; all skills that your instructor Jess will be there to advise you on. WHO IS THIS CLASS FOR? Every skill level is welcome to join this 3-hour class. From complete beginners to seasoned pros, everyone can make Studio 42 their own. If you do have previous jewellery making skills, you are more than welcome to work independently at your level. This 3-hour class is one of Queenstown’s “must-do” experiences and a great rainy-day option for solo travellers, couples or the whole family!

Supper club in my home
Welcome to our home, a charming 1914 red brick villa in Central Pukekohe. I will be cooking you a delicious five course menu in my registered kitchen. You will be greeted and seated by my partner, Robin (if he's around and may join you at the table) and I, in my quirky dining room which sports artwork from travels and charity shop rummages. You can bring any beverage (alcoholic or non alcoholic) of your choice. You can relax and enjoy each other's company while I cook your food. You can take a break and play a game of darts or take a stroll in our gorgeous front lawn or meet our chickens in the backyard. There will be a lot of eating and chatting in an intimate setting. Your meal will finish with tea or coffee. Other things to note Pukekohe is a 45-50 min drive from the city centre or a 1 hr 10 min train ride from the city centre (Britomart) with 1 train change at Papakura. The menu will be a surprise so if there are any dietary preferences or allergies please let me know. There are 6 or 7 steps to climb at the entrance.
Combo Horse ride and Farm-Animal Feeding
Depending on the weather we'll start with a riding lesson where I'll walk you through the fundamentals of groundwork, balance, seat, shifting your weight, reigns, leg aides and some time for you to practice on our beginners horse. I'll be with your all the way. Next we'll take a relaxing walk around the farm to meet, pat and hand feed our animals. We have specialty wool sheep, Scottish Highland cows (fluffy cows), goats, Horses, and a mini horse, goats, ducks (sometimes ducklings), Chickens (often chick to hold), a dog, and a few more to meet. I'm happy to answer any questions you may like to ask about farming in our area or the local history. If the group want to and time allows we can take a short walk up a hill to see the Horrors mountain range and take some photos. This is limited to 4-5 guests due to the riding time, but let me know if you have a larger group and we can extend the time and add more guests if needed. You may like to add the lunch onto this experience and that would extend your riding time also. Private experiences are also available for bookings or special occasions. This combo has been asked for by guests and we are really proud to be able to offer it as a way for guests to enjoy a farm experience with two of our most popular activities. Please note riding is available only to children and adults under 80 kg, to ensure rider and horse's comfort. Other things to note A good idea to bring your phone/camera, warm clothes for cool days. Long pants for riding, skirts of dresses are often uncomfortable for riding, so long pants are the best choice. Remember riders should be under 80kg, or your may give your riding time to someone else in your group if you prefer.
