Family-friendly holiday rentals in Nova Scotia

We had a lovely stay at Melanie's cottage. The cottage was very spacious, clean and had absolutely everything that we needed. (bottle of wine was a nice touch) Melanie was very responsive to our questions and responded right away. The cottage is on a busy street but is relatively quiet when you are on the beautiful front deck. We would recommend this cottage to anyone wanting to explore the area.

We came for the Hunter Moon and fell in love with the sunsets and walking on the beach. Lots of places to explore in the area.

This was our daughters first vacation out of the province so we were unsure of how it would go as she had just turned 4. We had such a lovely stay at Sarah's cozy lakefront cottage! It was peaceful and quiet — the perfect spot to relax and recharge. The location was great, with easy access to nearby attractions and some beautiful beaches close by as well as some others 1-2 hrs drive away. The host was friendly and made us feel right at home. The beds were really comfortable, which made for a great night’s sleep after days spent exploring. Our daughter was thrilled with all the toys available, and we really enjoyed the selection of board games for some fun family evenings. We’d absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking for a calm, family-friendly getaway. We’d love to come back some day - our daughter did not want to come home.

We had such a wonderful stay. The property is so beautifully landscaped by Bruce and Leesa. You can see the love and care they put into it. The inside was no exception. It felt warm and inviting. Leesa and Bruce are wonderful people. Very friendly and put us at ease right away. Really really nice couple. Don't think twice about booking this place. You will not be disappointed. We really enjoyed our stay! Location was perfect! 2 minute drive from our whale watching excursion. The cottage was clean, comfy and cozy. The hot tub was also very well maintained and clean. I would definitely recommend staying here. Great place to have a nice relaxing stay.

Cozy, comfortable and peaceful cottage. Views are amazing! Well equipped kitchen and great location with full amenities within a short drive. Lots of outdoor space for our dog to run and beautiful beach walks! This cottage is a gem...Hosts were responsive and friendly. A peaceful beach house experience with stunning views and the sound of waves lapping the shoreline, we would definitely book again!

A Perfect Stay in Cheticamp – Highly Recommended! We had the most wonderful stay at this beautiful property in Cheticamp. From the moment we arrived, we were taken in by the stunning views – absolutely breathtaking! Whether it was morning coffee on the deck or watching the sun go down in the evening, the scenery alone made the trip unforgettable. The house itself was everything we needed and more. It’s so cozy and tastefully decorated, with thoughtful touches throughout that made it feel like a true home away from home. You can tell that a lot of care and love has gone into creating such a welcoming space. The kitchen was fully equipped, the bed was super comfortable, and everything was spotless. What really made our stay exceptional was the host. They could not have been more kind, helpful, and attentive. From great local tips to checking in just to make sure we had everything we needed, they truly went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic stay. Thanks for having us!

My partner, pup, and I enjoyed our one-night stay in one of Ton's cabins. Communication was excellent, we loved that Ton met us for check-in and showed us around, and we went for the add-on breakfast - lovely and filling pannekoeks - dutch crepes! - and recommend you do too.

Great location and lovely home

We are very happy with our seven night stay there. The kitchen was well equipped, so we were able to prepare almost all of our meals. Eileen greeted us with homemade biscuits and some thoughtful fridge provisions sufficient to get our next morning off to a cozy start. She made an effort to help us access Wi-Fi in the town of Inverness, but it turned out the cottage had good cell reception so we could use phones as hotspots to get a little work done such that we could really vacation in confidence. We were delighted to see a pair of bald eagles on the shore of the property, well as loons and kingfishers and many other birds. Our stay was in mid September, and the weather was delicious, sunny, with a crisp bite to the air on our last couple of days. Congratulations to Eileen on creating a charming getaway, I wish we had stayed three or four more days.

Jill was a great host and it was lovely to stay in her cabin. She was always accommodating and was easy to communicate. The town of Mahone Bay is awesome making this a great experience all around.

It was the perfect place to stay in Montague. Right next to the river and trails. Loved the privacy of it but the friendliness of Martina. She was great! If you are looking to stay somewhere, I would highly recommend Martina’s. Her dog Blossom was just the nicest and made us feel at home too!

Valerie’s place was exactly as pictured. Beds were so comfy we checked to see what mattress she had lol! Lots of space for the 9 of us with 2 dogs and the kitchen had everything you could ever need. A few us were trying to find available times in the summer to come back! Pool wasn’t open yet but we did to enjoy the hottub. That sunroom…all I wanted was a big comfy chair in there and never have to leave. Great house for a fun family weekend!

Another great stay at Kenny and Mary’s house. We arrived a little early, the housekeeper was there when we arrived, let us come in early, she was very friendly and gave our son a gift. Kenny checked in with us and ensured all our needs and expectations were met. He had plenty of fire wood available for us to have fires, the pool and deck is great way to spend the day and any downtime we had. Their house is spotless, comfortable and has everything you need. We will definitely be back.

Fantastic hosts. Dream heritage property with total privacy and a heated pool in a park like setting; we booked that property pretty much every year for the last seven years. Rob and Barb are constantly improving the property, there is always something new to discover, whether it's a new appliance, or a brand new landscaped river frontage inviting you to sit and watch river and ocean life whilst sipping a glass of tasty red provided with the welcome basket. We enjoyed eating out at the Lunenburg restaurants, as much as we enjoyed cooking a delicious meal at their place, which is fully equipped, one can easily cook up a gourmet meal. Golden! It was so peaceful staying at this seaside sanctuary! The gardens were vibrant and the hot tub sitting amongst the gardens and next to the ocean was heaven on earth!

Great spot with beach access

What a lovely spot! Getting up to a view of the cows in a field overlooking beautiful Antigonish Harbour was a fantastic treat. Nathanael was wonderful host, the AirBnb was clean and comfortable with everything we needed. Had a great stay and would definitely recommend staying here.

The cottage was perfect for us to get away for a vacation! We really enjoyed the pool and Paul was very helpful. We picked up some lobsters at the local market and he had an outdoor propane cooker that was perfect and quick! The grounds are awesome, our dogs enjoyed walks on the trail around the cabins and there is a huge lawn/green space in the middle for them to enjoy as well. The cottage is 20 min fron Cavendish and 20 min from Charlottetown, 2 min from the Dunes and a couple great little grocers. Shout out to Brackley Bay Oyster Co. (basically next door) where we got amazing prices on oysters, lobster and mussels.
