It's 50m from our house and well hidden by trees, so you'll feel very private. The best beach in NZ is a 15 minute walk away!

Lovely quiet cottage set on lifestyle block with many chickens and sheep. 3 minutes driving to fabulous Waiotahi beach and only 10 minutes into Opotiki for cafes and shopping. Peace and tranquility - leave the city behind.

We are within walking distance to the beautiful Nga Tapuwai o Toi walking track, 5 mins drive to Ohope beach and Whakatane town. Listen to the call of native birds, including Kiwi. We had an unforgettable stay at Annie and Tautini’s peaceful and beautifully maintained home. It struck the perfect balance between feeling like a welcoming home and being a private, self-contained retreat. The view over the lush garden and surrounding landscape was stunning — a joy to wake up to each day. The hot tub was a dream after long hikes, and the location couldn’t be better: just six minutes from Ōhope Beach with plenty of scenic trails nearby. Annie and Tautini were incredibly thoughtful hosts — their recommendation to try Cigol, the Korean restaurant in town, was spot on. What made the experience truly special was the way they generously shared their time and knowledge about pounamu, local sites, and cultural traditions. We felt deeply privileged and blessed to have stayed here. Can’t recommend it highly enough!

I appreciated Chris accepting my request at short notice. A lock box meant I could let myself in easily. Car park area is hidden from the road which is great if you have a bike or paddleboard on the car. Feels private even though it's between 2 dwellings. Peaceful neighbourhood. Very comfy bed, a fabulous shower, & the TV screen can be watched from any angle. Nice touches with Long life milk in the fridge, breakfast cereals, teas and coffee sachets available. Plus shampoo, conditioner, soap & moisturizer in the bathroom. Would definitely stay again!
