This is a private, fully renovated 150-year-old traditional Japanese house, where the owner, JP, who loves DIY, has created his ideal living space. The most unique feature of this inn is its one-of-a-kind "egg sauna." This is a completely DIY sauna, meticulously crafted by JP from design to production, with a unique shape that allows heat to circulate naturally.Enjoy a sauna experience you can only have here, while being enveloped in the gentle heat of a wood-burning stove. There is also a traditional hearth inside, unique to old Japanese houses. You can experience traditional Japanese living, such as enjoying a hot pot around the irori fireplace or grilling skewers. ※ Please bring your own ingredients and cooking utensils such as skewers. The inn is located in a quiet hamlet called "Kobo" in the mountains of Mimasaka City, Okayama Prefecture. You can rent a small old house and a large Japanese garden, limited to one group per day. Spend your days like a local at this place, which is close to the Seto Inland Sea. We have 2 electric bicycles and 5 bicycles available. They are available for free to guests. You can also take your bike on the ferry to Naoshima and Teshima. Insects may enter the house depending on the season, as the garden is close to the old house. We are taking measures, but please refrain from booking if you are not good with insects. When you come by car, we ask you to check in by yourself. When you come by train or bus, we can pick you up and drop you off at Uno Station. There is another traditional house nearby. In the dining room with an island kitchen, you can enjoy music with high-quality speakers. Enjoy the scent and feel of the rare pine flooring. For the bedroom area, we have thick futons instead of beds, also with small children in mind. In addition, the futon area is slightly elevated with tatami mats.
