Warksburn Old Church: Style & Sustainability

GillyRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Warksburn Old Church is an incredibly special place. Recently renovated, this unique property features a state-of-the-art interior surrounded by the stunning stone and stained glass windows of the original 19th-century church. The tasteful decor has the vibe of a boutique hotel complete with luxurious and thoughtful details throughout. The spacious kitchen is perfectly equipped and if you don’t feel like cooking, there is a great pub restaurant in walking distance. We were warmly welcomed by owners Anne and Alan who were extremely helpful in guiding us through the house and giving us valuable tips for the local area. We were a party of five, including a small child and were very comfortable throughout our stay. This property is a peaceful and calm haven and makes for an ideal base from which to explore the stunning scenery and Roman remains of Northumberland. Highly recommend!

Shepherd's Hut at Bridge House

MarkRating, 5 stars4 days ago
What an amazing place to stay. From a very warm welcome to a lovely goodbye, we wished we could have stayed longer. The family had thought of everything and more. A short walk off the HWP, right by a pub (great food btw), we found this dream of a place to stay. We were met with a very warm handshake and taken straight to our Shepherd’s Hut. The hut was perfect. Very clean and beautifully decorated, looking out to beautiful views. An unexpected added bonus was The Green Room… a place to make hot drinks, read books, borrow games and even stock up on essentials in exchange for a donation. Loved the option to have a packed lunch which we both jumped at the chance as we knew it would be delish! Just like the breakfast. The only place I’ve found overnight oats at! We would both love to come back but for longer next time!

beautiful area, very remote and no phone signal which was perfect... it is a drive to any amenities but worth it... very private and tranquil place.

Whitchester farm cottage Haltwhistle

MichelleRating, 5 stars1 month ago
The cottage was a wonderful find, and we had a lovely stay. We had a previous booking that was cancelled two days before our arrival, and felt very lucky to find somewhere for our booking for two weeks just out from Easter. In fact, in every way, Whitchester Cottage was so much better than the place that was cancelled. It is a warm and comfortable cottage with amazing views, and we thoroughly enjoyed being next to the farm. The location is brilliant for local walks, and getting up to Hadrian's Wall and Vindolanda. Paula is a lovely and charming host, and we thoroughly recommend a stay at Whitchester Cottage.

Secluded Woodland Cabin in North Cumbria

We had a lovely few days in our cabin! The cabin is spacious and has everything you need inside. Nice little area to sit out in with the dog as well. We brought a long line and tied it to the porch so our pup could explore round the cabin. Definitely recommend for a cosy weekend away
