Unique Woods Retreat ~ Quiet place in Nature

Our cabin in the woods is a quiet refuge, built with many unique features: a log cabin room with vaulted ceiling, log walls in kitchenette/upstairs small dinette seating area and log wall in sunroom. Carriage style Barn doors, from grandparents old chicken coop on our property. The gorgeous metal stair railing hand designed & laser cut with pine trees. Downstairs walkout basement has concrete log beams & posts, as well as some concrete tree branches. Trails are for quiet travel only, no motors.

Our subdivision is ideally situated among thousands of acres of public land near the beautiful Au Sable River. The neighborhood is quiet, peaceful, and full of nature. Come and enjoy all this beautiful area has to offer, including hunting, fishing, hiking, skiing, trail riding, kayaking, tubing, canoeing, etc. A boat launch for the Au Sable River, an ORV trailhead and DJs Scenic Bar are within a mile of the cabin (in McKinley). Hiking and skiing trails are 10-15 minutes from the cabin.

Within walking distance from the famous MaDeeter's bar and grill, the Luzerne Express and the Meadows Trailhead for Atv's, Dirt bikes, side by sides, snowmobiles, and just miles from Amish country, and the Ausable River. Come and enjoy the peace and beauty of Northern Michigan at Grandma's Getaway! We have lovingly restored the interior of this home and it reminds me of being at Grandma's house. We have preserved many of the original elements and created a welcoming space around them. Enjoy Mio Dam pond, the AuSable River and walking trails during the day. Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. A great location to relax and appreciate nature. The house is built into a hill which provides great views of wildlife, stars and sunrises. The master bedroom is located on the top floor and gives you a beautiful panoramic view of the surrounding environment. Enjoy a cup of coffee out on the porch swings and watch the sunrise. View deer pass by in the evenings and gaze at the stars as they come out. A great place to stay away from home.
