In front of our house, which is sandwiched between the Hida-Buri Highway that connects the former Toyama and Takayama, there are the Nissho-bu Mingei Kan and the Yoshima residence, which are important cultural properties that show the rich cultural assets of Japan, and this area is designated as a preservation district for traditional buildings. The 20-tatami living room has a sunken hearth (currently unavailable) and you can enjoy the old Japanese private house. There are 3 bedrooms, so you can stay with a large number of people, such as family and friends. No meals are provided. You are welcome to use the full kitchen freely. There is a backyard at the end of the dirt floor that continues from the entrance, and you can walk around freely. Medieval Haiku poet, Basho Matsuo likened eternal passage of time to "百代の過客", a permanent traveller. In his time, a hundred years was expressed as eternal. HAKU was originally built as a farmer’s shed about a hundred years ago. It was recently relocated and renovated for another hundred years. HAKU will welcome you as traveling companions.
