[For up to 4 people] 3 minutes from Sano Station, guest house with a retro atmosphere, private room, free bike rental

JerryRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Very good host couple, and a kind Taiwanese supervisor. The residence is very quiet, and it takes less than 2 minutes to walk to JR Sano Station. There is food next to it, so you don't have to worry about not having anything to eat. You can also borrow a bicycle to ride to the nearby "Kasumi" supermarket to buy vegetables to cook. Other guests who live together also held a social gathering, very happy! The host was also very helpful. I asked her to help me order special items by mail, and she was also happy to help me complete the purchase. I stayed for almost 3 weeks, and I was still a little reluctant to leave.

100-year-old dormitory guest house toco.

super nice for a 4 night stay in Tokyo! it’s close to two train stations so it’s easy to get to from the airport and then get anywhere else, but for someone who likes to walk a lot (like me), it’s in good proximity to Asakusa and Akihabara which is great! The kitchen/common area is a bit small but very cozy, and the dorm rooms are bunk beds that are also very comfortable. The only thing I’d say is that it can get a bit noisy if people are walking around/talking at night, but it is a 120ish year old building so that’s to be expected. The hosts are really friendly and did a great job explaining the place and were happy to help with any questions :) and you get one free drink at the bar attached to it every night! Would definitely recommend.

Retreat Resort Wild nature, private room and onsen

We had a brief but very relaxing and peaceful stay here. Jun and Kimi are lovely people and the whole place has their kind and warm energy within it. Jun has some fascinating historical facts to share on the area if you are interested, and Kimi makes stunning crystal jewellery. Highlights were their delicious food, the gentle ambient music playing, the beautiful view to the lake from the dining room, the private bath with pure spring water from nearby and the comfy pillows. Only downside was that the mattresses were a little on the thin side for us but I would stay again in a heartbeat. Thank you both for a very memorable stay.

The room is super clean and the host is really nice. Host changes the towels and put free bottle water and coffee/green tea into the room everyday. A lot of restaurants and supermarkets around and easy to take JR to Tokyo.

I would definitely recommend this place if you want to sleep in a traditional Japanese room with tatami etc. The host is super kind, favorite, he is open to discussion and ready for any questions. Regarding the accommodation, there is everything you need even a washing machine. In terms of accessibility, you have to walk a little to get around. Thanks!

Loved my stay here at this guesthouse! 😀 Hiro san and Eiko san were such gracious hosts, humble and made me feel right at home. A great experience for all who want to get away from the hustle and bustle of the city, and relax in the suburbs/countryside. Great views, near a train station, and easy to walk around in a very comfortable neighbourhood by two rivers. I am super grateful to have stayed at this lovely home and can't wait to go back. Thank you again!!
