The Red Linhay at Hollacombe Farm

PippaRating, 5 stars5 months ago
Wow! Wow! Wow! We spent the most fabulous Christmas at the Red Linhay. We were given a wonderful welcome by Louise (and Marmite & Sam, the farm dogs). The linhay was lovely and warm with radiators in all the rooms but they had already lit the log burner for us too. The building has been beautifully converted, was lovely and clean throughout and had everything we required to cook and serve our extensive Christmas meals. We felt very comfortable within a couple of hours of our arrival. Nothing seemed too much from requests made prior to our stay to our leaving. They even spent a couple of hours after dark on Christmas Eve sorting out the wifi. The location is awesome too, just on the edge of Exmoor. Great for walks. We were allowed to wander around the farm and were shown into the barns to see the cows and their calves. Really I can't praise this place enough. We will be returning.

Dog Friendly Romantic House by River

MatthewRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Very tranquil and away from the push and shove of modern life. Doctor’s ford is well positioned for beautiful walking. There are also several places nearby to visit. Linton town with a Cinema. Porlock, Dunster castle. A lovely family retreat. Thank you. There is also loads of hot water.

Laurel Cottage

HannahRating, 5 stars30 months ago
Lovely house. Hosts are extremely helpful and contact easy in case of a problem. The area is incredibly beautiful and there is such wonderful bird song all around the house. The house is plenty big enough for a group of people. Layout of the house is confusing - sadly Marsden Cottages have no idea about the property and when phoned to discuss layout, they just looked at the same photos we had access to. Disappointed in the letting agent as they also slapped on a hidden dog charge of £60 despite our booking saying quite clearly we’d booked for dogs. Letting agent aside, the house is lovely and the house owner is very helpful and can be contacted when in the property if anything is needed. It’s awesome to have a lovely old cottage with a working Aga available on AirBnB. 2 cots available are sturdy wooden ones but don’t fit through a door and can’t be moved from an annexe off Bedroom 1. Bring a travel cot if there is more than one baby in a group.

Stonecrackers Wood Cabin

MartinRating, 5 stars1 week ago
A lovely stay in gorgeous surrounds! The scenery is beautiful, and the silence at night makes for a truly restorative experience. For future visitors, it’s helpful to keep in mind that "off-grid" means limited refrigeration space—we initially brought more food than the mini fridge could accommodate. Since this is a working farm, there may be interactions with livestock, as we experienced when the neighboring sheep wandered into the meadow. For those with dogs unfamiliar with farm life, this might require some flexibility. However, Hadyn and Caroline went above and beyond to ensure our dog could enjoy the space—at one point even rounding up the sheep themselves! Their dedication made all the difference and added to the charm of this truly special retreat.

Haven Heights

VenkatRating, 5 stars1 month ago
Very remote coastal location literally hidden amongst the cliffs of woody bay. Outstanding view from the flat of the sea and the distant welsh coast. The walk down to woody bay cove (rocky) was amazing and the cove itself was beautiful with a small waterfall pouring into the sea there. The flat is beautiful, very tastefully decorated and has all the necessary amenities required including hot water, and all kitchen utilities. There is a dedicated parking space for this flat although we were the only ones staying (the other two flats above and below haven heights were not occupied during our short stay). Very helpful hosts, good communication with good instructions. The very narrow windy roads made the whole holiday more exciting although one might benefit from a robust suv on these cliffs. A very memorable holiday for us.

The Sea Shack - Shepherd Hut

JordanRating, 5 stars1 week ago
Thanks to Astley at West Lyn Farm for a lovely stay. The shepherd's hut is in a beautiful location with sea view where you can watch the sunset with a glass of bubbly in hand from the sofa. Astley as a host was friendly and helpful but also gave us space to enjoy our stay in peace. Despite this we knew she would be there to help if we needed anything (we didn't, everything was perfect). The hut is amazing, modern and was spotlessly clean throughout with everything you could need for a relaxing stay. Lynmouth and Lynton are stunning costal locations and we would recommend a stay to anyone. We will come and stay again! Our dog stayed with us and he had a lovely time too, with an enclosed safe space where he could wonder and play without us worrying about him escaping. Again thanks and see you soon!
