Kid-friendly holiday rentals in Penang

We had a great 4-day stay at this Airbnb with our group of 6 adults and 2 kids. The amenities were well thought out, catering not just to the adults but also to the kids, which made our experience even better. We had a wonderful time and highly recommend it!

i think ive stayed here four times now. great place and location. its tranquil in a busy area. i only wish i rained when I stayed again as it's wonderful when it does. serves me right for coming in the dry times.

We had a great experience staying at Winnie’s place. The location is fantastic right in the heart of the city with easy access to restaurants and tourist spots. It’s a perfect place for families looking for a peaceful yet central stay. The room, although compact, was clean, cozy, and felt like a small Japanese-style home — very charming and well-maintained. Winnie was a kind and helpful host; she even provided drinking water and made sure we were comfortable throughout. The only minor challenges were the stairs — since the place is on the 3rd floor and there’s no elevator, carrying heavy luggage can be a bit tiring — and there was a temporary water issue one day, but Winnie resolved it quickly and efficiently. Overall, a pleasant stay with warm hospitality. Highly recommended if you’re looking for a comfortable and conveniently located place to stay!

Excellent in every way. Where do I start… the location cannot be beat. Armenian street is THE George Town street to see, and it’s walking distance to many amazing restaurants, hawkers centers, boutique shops, street artworks, and other attractions like the esplanade and large shopping malls. The home itself has a very peaceful feel, oozing with oldtown charm, tastefully furnished, and very spacious. The beds are comfortable, the aircon is excellent, the hot/cold filtered water machine is super convenient, and the washer/dryer works well. Things to note: The bathroom ceiling is quite low- if you’re over 5’10” you’ll be stooped over, but they provide a shower seat. There is an atrium in the middle of the home that is open to the floor below and the shop on the ground floor. This is no issue, but something to be aware of if you have toddlers like us that are, at times, difficult to keep calm and quiet.

Great location. Host was attentive we had an issue with the stove and toaster and he took care of it replaced the toaster and gave us an electric wok to heat our food. Enjoyed our stay will be back, liked the location and close proximity to shops and restaurants. Malaysians are very friendly and hospitable.

Came to Penang for a prayer retreat and has a wonderful time staying here. Beautiful views of the ocean and convinient location are what makes this place a good choice. Apartment was clean and well equipped.

I'd give more than five stars if AirBnB would let me. We felt really at home, and would unequivocally recommend the place. Siew Lin is an amazing host, flexible, helpful. The place is great. It's bigger than it looks in the pictures; there are two fully-fitted bathrooms, each with a shower; a great kitchen that is fully equipped; washing machine and a drying rack on the beautiful balcony; everything to feel like home... The location is also perfect. In the building complex there's a fully-stocked supermarket (downstairs and across a covered walkway, 3 minutes door-to-door), great restaurants, a beautiful pool that is always empty, a gym, great surroundings... We also like the geography in the city, nestled (somehow extremely quietly) between Georgetown and Tanjung Bungah!

Our family enjoyed the 9-night stay in this nice, clean, spacious, comfortable and well-equipped Airbnb in a great location with many nearby eateries and with easy access to the beach. We were given clear instructions for check-in and check-out. Despite the heat outside, the apartment became our paradise as we entered it. It has beautiful hill views from the sitting room and bedroom. Watching different birds from the sitting room and monitor lizards in the small drainage below the windows at different times of the day was an enjoyment.

I had a great stay at Alex's place in George Town. The room looked exactly as listed-clean, comfortable, and just as described in the photos. Check-in was super easy thanks to the clear and detailed instructions, and Alex was very responsive whenever I had questions. Would definitely recommend.

The check-in process was very smooth, and the property was clean. The host was helpful and responded promptly. The infinity pool had a beautiful view, and my two children loved it. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Penang.

「ペナン島で暮らすように過ごしたい！」という私の願望を叶えてくれた部屋で大満足しています。部屋からはヨットハーバーが目の前に見えます。スーパーも近く、食料品から日用品まで揃います。ワインショップも近いです。レストランも沢山あります。Grabを呼ぶのにも便利で毎日利用して出かけました。ペナンは暑くて汗を沢山かくので洗濯が毎日できたことはとても助かりました。 プールでも泳ぎ気持ち良かったです。夜は下のレストランから歌が聴こえたりしますが私はうるさくて困るというほどではなかったです。(感じ方は人それぞれだと思いますが…) Ooiさんに何か質問をするとすぐに返事がきて対応してもらえ安心して過ごすことができました。セキュリティの面でもしっかりしているコンドミニアムだと思います。 コンロは使えなかったので部屋ではお湯を沸かしてお茶を飲んだり果物を買ってきて食べました。屋台グルメ天国のペナンでは部屋で調理しなくても良かったのでコンロが使えなくても全く困りませんでした。 ペナンでの快適なお部屋を貸していただきありがとうございました。また再訪したい場所です。

We really enjoyed our stay at Siang’s Place at Straits Quay. This was the first AiraBNB in a long time where a person showed up to check us in and out. Kev was our contact person during our stay and he was kind, helpful and always available. The unit was clean and comfortable matching the description on the listing. All of the other nice things that people have said in their reviews are true. Even though the unit does not face the water, the balcony is large and nicely shaded in the morning for enjoying our coffee. Some of the things we really liked include the pool and gym (new equipment in the gym and strong AC), the wonderful grocery store just a few steps away, the walking paths along the water (perfect for morning or evening walks), easy pick up and drop off for Grab, and the weekly cleaning service included in the fee. Great stay, we will come again. Thanks Kev and Siang.

Everything matched the photos, very friendly host with clear instructions on how to self check in at anytime, place is convenient and quiet. Space is clean & tidy. Will return for next trip.

loved that everything worked and was as described. the large window in my room is a really nice and it was very clean too! loved that there's a toilet for each room, which made it really convenient for my friend and I. 10/10 would book here again.

We had a fantastic stay - after a long day of travelling it was a delight to enter into this beautiful home. The views are incredible (we caught an early sunrise) and the thoughtful touches such as the local snacks were really appreciated. Very easy to get a Grab into different areas of Georgetown.

The room is clean, each of the facilities are in good condition and the scenery of the sea is beautiful, which is a good place for healing. Most importantly, owner is kind!

This is another accommodation that I really like. It’s comfortable, well-equipped, and very spacious. If I have the chance, I will definitely come back again.

Edward’s place was great. John met us on arrival outside and took our bags in for us, showed where everything was and took us up to the pool and gym. There are restaurants downstairs and it’s a short Grab ride to Gurney Plaza. Sam’s Groceria is downstairs and Lotus’s supermarket about 10 minutes’ walk. We didn’t use the large terrace much because it was too hot for us even with the fans on, but spent some hours every day by the pool, which we had to ourselves most of the time. The apartment is large with good air conditioning and fans. We hardly used the kitchen because we didn’t want to cook as there are so many food options around. I had a facial at Aster Spring salon downstairs and my friend had a pedicure in the nail salon on the first floor. It was a great place to stay, so thank you Edward and John.
