This is a stunning place secluded away from anything nearby. Great for a retreat to be restful, listen to nature and admire the beautiful horses. Cheila was an incredible host, super responsive to any questions or comments and gave us some beautiful lemons from her tree. The house is really well throughout and all amenities are included. A truly memorable stay. The landscape was breathtaking — wildflowers, birdsong, horses, and morning mist over the valley created a dreamlike atmosphere. The spa facilities and infinity pool, set against stunning views, were especially restorative. The cabin is compact but surrounded by natural beauty. We loved waking to the sounds of birds and nearby waterfall — simply idyllic. There was occasional noise from grounds maintenance, but it didn’t detract too much from the overall impression. The host was communicative and flexible with our arrival time. Thoughtful touches like the welcome wine and chocolate cake made us feel right at home. Everything was smooth and easy, and we found some fantastic local restaurants. The surrounding area is full of charm, with quiet walks, friendly people, and views we’ll never forget. We spent our days exploring and simply soaking it all in. This place made us fall in love with Portugal — we’re already looking forward to returning. Thank you!

Thank you for this stay was lovely, we drove our car to the property accompanied by Rui and Isabella, only because our car is 4WD, the house is just beautiful, there is no one nearby and very quiet. There are also two bathtubs that need to be heated and enjoyed, it's very cool and relaxing! The house in person is much more cozy and beautiful than in the photos, it is a delight. It was especially nice that when I received a burn through my own fault in the bathroom in the closet there was a burn remedy, this is a very safe and cozy house.

Relatively easy access (mountain roads), located in a small village 5 minutes' drive from a supermarket and cafes/pizzeria, stone house completely remodeled inside, equipped kitchen, well-decorated living room, a large balcony with a spectacular view and a very cool pool with cold water.

Amazing stay, amazing village and surroundings. Great experience!

Ideal place to relax and contemplate nature.

On the positive side, the place lived up to its description. Fatima was incredibly friendly and went above and beyond to make our experience better. There were enough parking spaces for three cars. On the negative side, the hot water reservoir wasn't sufficient for ten people to take showers. As a result, some of us had to take cold showers every day. Additionally, the location is situated on narrow roads, making it challenging to reach by car.

Perfect place for a quiet rural holiday. The house has a lot of charm mixing old with new. The kitchen was well equipped and we ate in every night. It has a large, pretty garden with citrus trees. It is within easy distance of many historical towns as well as a national park. We did not meet Céu but she responded very quickly to any requests we had. We would have no hesitation in staying there again.

everything perfect, very quiet village and in the middle of nature

We really enjoyed our stay at Tue’s house. It is a great size with good bedrooms and plenty of living space. Ideal for our family of 7. The house is well equipped with plenty to do - swimming pool, bikes, pool table, large garden etc. The local area is very quiet with a good beach and some nice local walks. The weather wasn’t great while we were there, which was unfortunate and meant we couldn’t make full use of the pool etc. but it was great on the sunny days. It could perhaps be improved with some soft covers for the sun beds and maybe another sun umbrella. All in all though we had a great stay.

Despite the bad weather we could not swim in the pool, however, they made sure it was cleaned and we still hoped we could use it. The garden is also very well maintained. The house itself was as we expected, it was perfect for the 4 of us. There is plenty of everything and we felt right at home. Hopefully we can come back one day to spend time at the swimming pool!

I had a fantastic stay. The place was spotless, well-equipped, and exactly as described in the listing. Location was with beautiful views. The host was incredibly kind and responsive, making sure everything went smoothly during our stay. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone visiting Portugal and would love to come back again in the future!

We had a great time in Afife and enjoyed our stay at Joaos place. The location was very quiet (except the Honda shop across the street in the daytime) and Afife has not much to offer, which was okay for us but should be known in advance if you plan on eating outside. Porto is great to be reached by train and the beach is very close. With 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms there’s enough space for a big group and everything was very comfortable. The pool was open already and was cleaned during our stay. The only thing which I would point out on the negative side is that when we arrived it smelled a bit mouldy, probably due to the rainy weather and the fact that 3 of the bathrooms don’t have windows. The staircase to the lower part of the house is very steep. That’s a fact you should know when travelling with small kids. Joao was perfect to contact and always responded quickly whenever there were any questions. Thanks for having us. We would totally recommend to stay at his place.

We stayed at Luís' placec as a group of 6 people over a weekend and we were blown away by it! We have used AirBnB as a group for weekend stays for many years now and this might have been the best house we've been to yet. Clean, extremely spacious (more adequate for around 10 people, really), nice pool, with plenty of amenities and little bonuses (such as the very nice small "locker room" by the pool and the small yard surrounding it). The house is fully equipped with the essentials, the WiFi reaches every room and the appliances are modern and well-kept (save for the TV but it's still nice and more than good enough). We had a lovely stay, a great check-in (Ângela was very nice and warm, made sure we got to know the house well) and we definitely want to return in the near future!

We had a great stay, we will definitely go back. The house is extremely comfortable, beautiful and versatile, it gives both a warm and cold height. The location is perfect, both for those who want to know Gerês, and for those who just want to rest and enjoy the amenities of the house. The hosts are super friendly and flexible, I highly recommend!

Nice place, beautiful surroundings, good views and a responsive host.

I spent one night at the home of Filomena with three friends and it was amazing. It has a double bed and a large sofa bed (without separation, it is ideal for groups of friends or families), kitchen equipped with hob and all utensils, barbecue, and the best part of all - the pool! It is a great pool and it was exclusive to us, with lots of privacy, lawn with loungers, a treat. Filomena was very considerate and the husband Francisco who received us as well. It was a memorable experience and I recommend 100%.
