Smoking-friendly holiday rentals in Porto District

This a true home away from home, and made our vacation just that much better! At day’s end, we looked forward to retreating to this spotless apartment that clearly has received love and care by its owner. From its art to its book collection, its spacious bedrooms and beautiful sunroom and terrace, the apartment wants for nothing. Paula is super responsive and exceptionally considerate — even providing personalized walking maps for us! I have stayed in Airbnbs all over the world, and this — by far — was my favorite. Was even better than the description — I didn’t know that was possible. Thank you, Paula, for a wonderful and memorable stay! Can’t wait to come back!

Spotlessly clean, beautifully presented and very comfortable. We were there for a week and really enjoyed our stay. A great location, just 5 mins walk from shops, restaurants (highly recommend Gruta!), a metro station and the amazing balhoa food market. A good supermarket 1 min walk away and launderette near by. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed breakfast on the balconies. Had been worried about lack of air-conditioning but the design of the apartment kept it naturally cool (temps up to 34 degrees during our stay). Only downside was the building work going on opposite. if not for that I think it would be a quiet side street. Hosts are friendly and helpful and sent us loads of information on restaurants, bars, shopping, tourist attractions etc. Would definitely stay again!

Very spacious, clean and functional apartment. Communication with Jorge as well as the arrival went very well. The apartment is very well located, at the entrance to the center of Porto, and allows you to visit everything on foot. We therefore had a great stay in this beautiful city!

The apartment had good accomodations. Little bit of a walk to get to the core of the city, but surrounding area is nice. Supermarket and pharmacy down the road from the apartment

An outstanding Airbnb in a beautiful location. The accommodation is spacious and comfortable, with the added bonus of several different places to sit in the garden and enjoy the spectacular views of the Douro valley. But it's the hosts that make this place so special. Casimiro and his son Manuel represent what Airbnb is all about; they personally welcomed us, offering lots of recommendations for places to visit and local restaurants, but were never intrusive. Casimiro's wife had prepared a tray of 'entradas' - a Portuguese starter of cured meats, cheeses, bread and olives - plus a bottle of local wine. A couple of days later Casimiro appeared with an huge bowl of cherries from their own orchard. This Airbnb wasn't just somewhere to stay for a few nights, but an experience to be treasured.

We had a wonderful time staying at Eduardo and Patricia's place. We arrived early in Porto after our transatlantic flight, and they had the place clean and ready for us by 13h. Patricia personally welcomed us and gave a bunch of recommendations for the area. We appreciated this hospitality. The bed was very comfortable (futon-like queen mattress) and the air conditioner and shower worked well. The location is perfect. 10-15 minute walk to all the Porto highlights, so we were easily able to stop back at the apartment for a water refill or bathroom break during our sightseeing. It's a central location but this section of the street has no bars or restaurants so it's pretty quiet at night. We would stay here again on our next visit!

I stayed at Miguel’s flat for 5 nights and it was fantastic. It is in a convenient location. Very quiet but also close to the historic centre (20 minute walk downhill). The amenities were excellent and if you want to eat in there is a supermarket less than 5 minutes away with everything provided. Miguel was super helpful as a host and gave us great recommendations for the local area as well as for Porto as a whole. Every room was spacious and the showering facilities were excellent. I would highly recommend staying here if you are going to Porto!

Andre is incredibly kind and helpful. We got lost getting to the Airbnb from the airport and he was quick to respond with clear directions to use. The location is great. It’s right beside a great cafe, in front of a metro stop, and close to everything we wanted to walk to.

Joana's house was exactly what we needed, 4 adult couples from the family, each from a different part of the world. The house is wonderfully equipped Designed in an inviting rustic style and the garden is well maintained The property is exactly as shown in the pictures. It was well worth it!

We've been very happy in Estefania's house. The apartment is in a perfect location for a family. no parties and no noises nightime. It's very close to the river area, full of good fish restaurants, and to the city center. It took us 15 minutes with the baby to reach it, and it's also possible to get the metro. Adelino, who was our contact there, gave us a lot of useful info. He was also very reactive, and when we had a problem he always replied immediately and did everything in his power to help us. I would definitely recommend the apartment to other guests!

Amazing property and view. We had a terrific time. The property worked great for our group. Best sunset! Marco and his crew were extremely responsive. Driving in the Douro Valley is not for the faint of heart. We had a ball!

Five stars to Casa de Cardido and to Rui and Alexandra for being wonderful hosts. We were a little late checking in, but Rui greeted us with a smile and a very generous tabua of local cheeses and meats. The hosts go above anything expected, with a sound system at the pool, exercise equipment, and fresh bread delivered daily. The house is a traditional Portuguese home - and it feels like a “home” not a rental. We spent two weeks here and it felt like staying with family. I noticed that one review commented on how close the highway is. Please know this is not a problem. You can see the highway when approaching the home from the road, but you cannot hear it and it does not interfere with the experience. This is very high quality stay with caring and involved hosts that will make sure you have all you need. I highly recommend.

Diogo was an exemplary host: always available, attentive and genuinely concerned with our well-being. Your kindness made the experience even more special. The space is simply breathtaking, perfect for resting the mind and recharging the soul. And as if the surrounding nature and the tranquility of the place were not enough, we had charming visitors: adorable kittens that appeared unexpectedly and immediately won our hearts. They were a sweet and caring asset, which gave even more life to our stay. We recommend it with our eyes closed — and with our hearts full.

Margo is an excellent host and extremely attentive to our needs. The home was immaculate, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

Manuel and Rosaria are adorable and very considerate people, who anticipate the possible needs of the tenants of the cottage. It was very easy for us to communicate with them despite the language barrier. Upon arrival, we were able to taste Portuguese specialties. The cottage is very well equipped, very clean and very well located for visiting the north of Portugal. The property is beautiful, with different spaces, garden, pool, vineyards and animals. I would highly recommend this rental. Thank you very much to Manuel and Rosaria for hosting us.

Good people Very nice communication

Rui and Sergey have a lovely place. They were very friendly and very helpful. The room was spacious and had excellent storage. They have since updated their main bathroom, which is now one of the nicest bathrooms I have seen (spacious, new, and great shower)!! The location was also very nice. It was far enough away from the hub of the city for quiet, but close enough to walk to Porto (25-30 min of a nice, pretty walk). The metro is also very close (8 min), which was so very convenient. Being able to use a washing machine was a huge plus too. Overall it was a great value!

We were happy to stay outside of the lot of noise from the street all night. The apartment is missing an electric kettle, which would make it easier to boil water. The contact with the host is efficient, he prepared an apartment that was clean. Extra linens, a set of towels for everyone. There was also an extra electric heater that could be turned on on cold nights, however, it can't be used at the same time with the dryer as the traffic jams in the apartment are getting out. An apartment equipped with everything you need except for a kettle. Accessible location next to bus stop. I recommend staying in an apartment.

This place was an intermission for us and it was perfect! The balcony was peaceful, the surrounding area was quiet compared to being in the heart of Porto which was nice. The bed was very comfortable and we could not be more thankful! Thank you. Walking distance from bus stop!

Rosario is a great host. The place is clean and well equipped. In addition, the location is great: very close to the beach and good restaurants. I only can recommend it. Will certainly return.

Hello André, Thank you for everything. The apartment is very good, it has a very spacious terrace, although the views are not very good you can only see four rolls. Very good detail to leave all apps and games installed on TV, they were very helpful!. another detail to note are the good local buns and desserts, very rich. On the other hand there was no good night or daytime environment, whom I want to cheat (well some Darth Vader out there). Another thing to improve is the modernization of the front door. Overall, chilling, chilling in the miling.
