Holiday houses in Pownal

I was looking for a birthday get-away, and Claire's place was just right. Nice, clean apartment on the second floor of an older house, with all amenities plus a full kitchen, which we always appreciate. The bedroom has a really comfy bed and lots of storage with two beautiful dressers and a closet. Kitchen had everything we needed, and she even left homemade jam and local honey for us. We loved walking into town, just a few blocks away, and we discovered lots of hiking trails nearby. It was a lovely stay!

Daniel's place was the perfect home base for our Berkshires getaway. We visited Mass MoCA and loved coming back to this quiet, peaceful retreat. The backyard was especially serene, I enjoyed my morning coffee outside and relaxing by the fire at night. One of my favorite parts was cracking the window open and falling asleep to the soothing sound of the brook out back, pure magic. Daniel was a gracious host, friendly, responsive, and thoughtful. The local charm added so much to the experience, including camels and other farm animals across the street, Farmer Dave is a gem. We'd happily stay here again!

We had an awesome time! The home was charming and the perfect set up for a large group. Jessica was extremely helpful and responsive when we woke to a foot of snow on departure day. A perfect weekend!

Nick’s place is amazing—just a little peace of heaven on earth. The cabin and surroundings are so peaceful and beautiful and it felt very private. Our favorite part of the cabin were the screened in porch, the swing, and the fire pit. Nick was very generous and provided lots of fire wood for our stay and even had the fire pit ready for us when we arrived. Our boys also loved running around the cabin. We had everything we needed during our stay. We will definitely be back!

My long weekend at the barn was everything I expected and more . I absolutely loved the place . The kitchen had everything you need. The fireplace and reading area was so nice and relaxing , so many great books. The bed was very comfortable. The heated floors in the bathroom was a definite treat. The stained glass windows are a great touch, especially when the sun comes through. Sitting in the hot tub after a long hike was AMAZING. There are so many places to hike, we had a great time , we will definitely be returning!!!!

Eli's home is in a great location; easily walkable to MassMoca and downtown. It's small but cute and has everything one needs to cook, rest, etc. There are a couple of things to be mindful of... - The upstairs bedrooms get quite hot in the warm weather, and the ACs are very loud, as is the fan. I highly recommend bringing earplugs; we only had one pair, and my husband didn't sleep well during the hot night (we both slept well the other nights!). This is not the first time we've experienced this at an Airbnb, and it would be super nice if hosts provided quiet ACs for their rentals. Eli is responsible, so I'm sure he'll figure out an alternative. The bed was very comfortable! - There are a lot of steep stairs (inside and out), which normally isn't an issue, but we were traveling with our heavy e-bikes and had to carry them up and down the stairs, and that kept us from going for several spontaneous bike rides. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Eli's and would recommend his home.

Barbara is such a kind and responsive host! A snowstorm hit the night before we left and she made sure the driveway was clear for us. She even had coffee and granola bars in the apartment! The location is the perfect mix of town and scenic. We were close enough to explore the towns of Bennington, Manchester, and Williamstown, but the house was located in a more secluded area surrounded by the mountains. Prospect Mountain is only 15 minutes away and the perfect destination to rent snowshoes and crosscountry skis! We were also only 1.5 hours away from Killington which was a great day trip :) Perfect getaway for a snowy New England vacation! The apartment was also spotless and cozy!

Super convenient for our visit to Williams College. The fenced in yard was perfect for our dog. There were AC window units in each of the bedrooms and in the living room as well. Everything was clean and comfortable. As the house is right off the street, there is some street noise during the day. Would definitely book again if I go back to Williamstown with a large group.
