All towels and bed linens, including bed spreads and blankets are laundered between guests. Spray Lysol is available for your added convenience. Elegant and comfortable, the Carriage House is centrally located, right at Central Expressway and Mockingbird, excitingly close to all the fun restaurants, bars, shopping, theaters and museums in Dallas. You won't find a better place, either for comfort or location. In addition to the queen size bed, the couch folds out to accommodate another person. Everything you need for a visit, long or short, is available and handy. Arriving late for check-in? No problem, there's an electric lock on the door, so you can check yourself in, as late as you want. Newly remodeled, the Carriage House is on the second floor of a separate building behind our home. The property is located just a few blocks from SMU and some of the more popular entertainment areas in Dallas, including Greenville Avenue, Knox-Henderson, Mockingbird Station, Uptown, and Snyder Plaza. Come and enjoy being in the most walkable area of Dallas. The Grenada, for example, is only a few blocks away. No worries over parking or catching an Uber. You can walk there in 5 minutes. If you are flying into Dallas and don't want to rent a car, you can get to The Carriage House many different ways. DFW: The most economical way is to use the Orange Line on DART, accessed from Terminal A at DFW. Get off at Mockingbird Station. From there you can walk 15 minutes south to the Carriage House, OR take DART bus 24 Via McMillan. Stop at Morningside Ave. We are only steps from this corner. Love Field: You can also access the Orange Line on DART, however, you'll have to take the Love Link Dart bus to Inwood/Love Station. From there, the directions to the Carriage House are the same as above. Also, check out SuperShuttle, a shared ride service from either airport. As always, there are taxis, Uber and Lyft. I'm a traveler at heart, and although I get excited about planning my next adventure away from home, I think it's safe to say that Dallas is a wonderful vacation destination. We have some of the best food in the world, a proliferation of sports and music venues, great theatre and other entertainment events, a lively art scene and tremendous shopping! I love my city, come see us! This beautiful cottage was built in 1953 and enjoys the rich history of old McKinney. Completely renovated in 2020, it has two bedrooms, one bathroom, a full kitchen and laundry facilities. Decorated with an industrial flair, this cottage connects the present to the past. Nestled in the Historic District of McKinney you'll relax with all the modern comforts of home. After enjoying shopping and dining downtown, stroll back home to spend time with friends inside or on the back deck. Amazing Location Our cottage is less than a mile from the Cotton Mill, near many other wedding Venues, one mile from Tupps Brewery, and just a 12-minute drive to TPC Craig Ranch (the new home of the Byron Nelson golf tournament). Walking Distance Attractions include: All downtown McKinney Restaurants, Wineries, Pubs, Bars, Shops, and festivals! Favorite spots in downtown McKinney are The Yard (restaurant / bar with outdoor games, fire pits, also family friendly), Ricks Steakhouse (also has a really cool bar located in the back of the restaurant with live music on the weekends), Harvest (healthy farm fresh food from local sources) & Landon Winery. The Cottage Our cottage sleeps up to five with one king sized bed and one double bed with a pull-out trundle underneath. There is high speed WIFI access and three TV's with Netflix. You can also connect TV's to your personal Hulu, Prime Video, Ruko, HBO, etc. The kitchen is stocked with all the basic cooking equipment, plates, bowls, cups, mugs, utensils, kitchen towels, coffee maker, coffee, creamer, etc. Laundry facilities include a full-sized washer and dryer. The backyard has a beautiful deck.
