Tour a Baroque centuries-old palazzo with an art historian

Tour the Baroque architectural treasure Palazzo Chigi Zondadari with an in-house art historian. • We’ll meet in the courtyard. I’ll share some background on the palace (built in the early 18th century) and the Chigi Zondadari family who has owned it for centuries. First, we’ll explore the Cortemporanea art project, which features different contemporary artists every year. • We’ll tour the well-preserved main floor, or piano nobile, filled with artworks from the permanent collection and pieces from contemporary artists. You’ll see furniture designed by 18th-century architect and poet Agostino Fantastici, as well as 17th-century corami (embossed and handcrafted leather), and other archaeological finds. The Bust of Alexander VII (1657) by Gian Lorenzo Bernini is the most important. • You’ll enjoy complimentary aperitivo in the ballroom, featuring wine produced by the family farm, Podere Olmo, and savory snacks. • Wrapping up, I’ll spend time talking about the palace’s curatorial approach, and you’ll be able to ask questions about the galleries and neighborhood. I love sharing cultural insights and recommending the best spots for authentic local food and drinks. Dive into the artisan heritage of the 15th-century town of Pienza with me, an art historian, to uncover the history and craftsmanship behind its ceramics, wrought iron, and textiles, exploring the natural clay deposits of the Val d’Orcia and the workshops of master artisans who practice centuries-old techniques in this historic town. • Explore the iconic Piazza Pio II—the heart of Pienza’s Renaissance transformation—and a workshop inside an Etruscan cave, where a local artisan will demonstrate ancient and modern clay-working techniques. • Examine historic wrought ironwork on Pienza’s ancient streets before visiting a fourth-generation blacksmith’s forge for a demonstration on how iron was forged into gates, tools, and decorative elements for noble palaces and churches. • Jump into the world of textiles at the Palazzo Piccolomini, where your visit to a historic textile workshop will introduce you to hand-operated looms and insights into dyeing, weaving, and crafting textiles. Wine Tasting in a Medieval Aqueduct

Guests reach Piazza San Giovanni, the magnificent Square of Baptistery, where historic buildings (such as the Palazzo del Magnifico and the Archiepiscopal Curia) are erected and the back of the Cathedral, sparkling with white and black marble and the majestic staircase. At the entrance of the first builidng, at the reception the guests can admire the original drawing of the Baptistery of Siena, unfinished due to the plague and two drawings made by famous architects, Louis Khan and Le Corbusier whose originals are no longer in Italy. Once here, guests have to go down, reaching an unique and inaccessible place, where the water once flowed. The "bottini" are buildings of medieval origin that brought water to the city of Siena. You will see a medieval well, an Etruscan hut dating back over 2500 years and a sandstone sediment dating back over 1 million years ago when Siena was below sea level. There you can see historical fossils. You will see another "bottino" as well used also as jail by The Noble Pandolfo Petrucci. After you can enjoy the real and unique experience of the wine tasting in our wineshop. Once the experience is over, guests can buy some bottles as a souvenir.

My Tuscan Ceramic with a master potter

If you are looking for an out of the binaries experience to do something new and special, you are in the right place! I will be happy to make you experience the day-life of an artisan, bringing you inside a pottery factory and then discovering the feel of clay manipulating. We first will meet in my shop in Montelupo Fiorentino, opened for 20 years in a historical village known all over the world for its ceramic production. Montelupo is situated precisely in the middle of Pisa and Florence so it is easily reachable by train or by car in about a half-hour from both sides. It is a beautiful village and I hope you will love it as I do! From the shop we will go together to the factory where I will show you the cycle of production of Italian handmade pottery, telling you the history behind and explaining all the techniques. If you want, there is also the possibility to design and purchase something new that will be custom made for you by our artisans! After the factory, it will be your turn! We will go back to the shop where my father will be happy to teach you how to make your pottery piece. Don't worry if you never used a wheel, the course is funny and satisfying for everyone! And as icing on the cake your creation will be fired and shipped to your house, to have a tangible memory of the experience but above all to have a piece of Tuscany at home! Discovering Montepulciano and the wine

We are going to see Montepulciano in a very special Walking Tour. We'll start from the Porta al Prato reaching the main square going through the main Corso. We will stop in some spots with a breathtaking view to make some pictures and then, if you want, we will go on the municipality tower to have a 360° view from above. We will finish the tour by going to a XVth century cellar and taste the Vino Nobile of Montepulciano.

Only for people with imagination

I like to compose stories, even non-verbal ones. I love transforming casualties into stories and useless objects into signs. That is why I cannot call this experience a photo shoot, but rather a transformation. If a selfie were a letter, we would write a novel and the physical result would be a photo book, and the non-physical one - THE CHANGE. We will not go to the Piazza del Campo. We will find a UNIQUE, AUTHENTIC place, and the colour of the hair (by chance?) will match the colour of the foliage and the design on the dress will repeat the shape of the shadow and who knows how many more coincidences await us... The photos I'll take are not classic (banal) photos with cypresses or Tuscan hills in the background, they are the memories you have lived, imprinted in the memory along with the smallest details and printed in the album exactly as they were, REAL.With all the little useless and wonderful things (the bubbles and flowers of the dandelion, scented hay caught in the hair, the red watermelon, trapping the warm light of the June sunset) without which the photo is just a document, not a piece of the past.

The Chianti Painting Class

Reachable only by car, Better be self-driven because there aren't public means neither taxi in chianti. This painting class will offer you a pleasantly full day in the relaxing countryside of Chianti. The painter Alfredo, my father in law, will teach you the art of painting using techniques of watercolor and/or acrylic. We will be in the garden of our familiar farm with a stunning view of vineyards and olive trees in the quiete of nature... what a better way to get inspiration from landscapes?! You can choose what you prefer to paint, usually subjects will be: chianti landscapes, vineyards, olive trees, nature, one of our building. The aim of this experience is to spread and develop your passion for paint. You will visit the little artist atelier as well as our traditional farm specialized in producing chianti wine and evo oil. We will offer you a traditional tasty lunch with of course our wine. At the end you will take home your work. It's a fun experience for all ages and all artistic abilities. Beginners are very welcome! Other things to note Flexible dates and times, send me a request and I'll try to please you. Let me know any dietary restriction.

Join me for a Photographic Tour of Siena. This workshop is a really fun and relaxed way to improve your smartphone photography, make memories and learn at the same time. We'll experience the city of Siena through the lens of your Smartphone. We'll start in the famous Piazza del Campo .. a paradise for photographers. We'll talk about composition, how to make the most of natural light and what to look for to create a great photo. Then we’ll look for interesting details and hidden corners whilst wandering the streets of this medieval City. We'll make use of lots of amazing camera functions on your phone to create great portraits, abstracts, travel shots and street photography. I'll take some cool pictures of you too which I'll send you after the workshop. Memories to take home with you. Along the way a stop for coffee and I’ll talk you through some editing tips and tricks to enhance your shots. If you have Social Media we can also talk about layouts and posting. We’ll finish our last section of walkabout with a theme or mini project in mind. This experience works for individuals but also for groups .. an exprience with friends .. great for team-building .. ideal for families.
