The Nook Holiday Cottage - Alston AONB

MartinRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
Comfortable home in beautiful surroundings. Really responsive and friendly host. En-suite bathrooms to each bedroom and the beds were super comfy. Great parking and charger for electric car - lovely walks nearby along the river and the horse in the field behind had just given birth to a foal so our daughter was mesmerised. Oh I forgot the hot tub - that was great too!

Gatecroft Barn & Spa - Pet friendly with hot tub

AnthonyRating, 5 stars5 days ago
Amazing stay at Gatehouse Barn. It is a really lovely, homely, welcoming place to stay. Plenty of sleeping options downstairs and up and a cosy living space. Also loads of seating areas outside which were perfect to enjoy the sun. The area is really quiet and peaceful and the location of the barn is extra secluded and private. As a final bonus, the attached spa area was a real treat after long walks (loads of which can start literally from the front door).

Private detached cottage, wood fired hot tub!

NoemiRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had an absolute wonderful two-night stay at this cottage! It's lovely, spotlessly clean, and incredibly well-equipped with everything you could need. The welcome gifts were a delightful surprise, and the hosts were so friendly and quick to respond to all our messages. The location is perfect, just a short few minutes drive to the beach. What truly stood out was their amazing hospitality: we accidentally left something behind, and they sent it to us via next-day delivery without hesitation. We can't recommend this place enough!

Country cottage with private garden & hot tub

SuzeRating, 5 stars3 days ago
Perfect getaway from us and handy for visiting family. The hot tub was a welcome daily ritual and the garden is very peaceful. Everything needed was provided in the house, would just add that the garden furniture is Ok for eating, but not comfortable for long sitting and reading, luckily we had our folding chairs in the car so not a problem, but worth bearing in mind.

Butterfly Cottage 5*rated, Balcony, stunning views

AvaRating, 5 stars4 days ago
We stayed at Bruce and Anita’s beautiful cottage and from start to finish their communication was excellent.. on arrival Anita had baked some beautiful whole meal bread and had bought us a lovely chocolate cake , and we were welcomed by lovely music on the Alexa .. Archie our Airedale terrier also loved the treats they left for him . The cottage was enchanting , pristine a beautiful enclosed garden for Archie and had everything we needed for our 3 day stay .. the views were breathtaking and it was so peaceful , quiet and the village and river were within walking distance. Hubby is a keen birdwatcher and enjoyed the conversation with Anita about all the birds within the location and was impressed they had 7 swift bird boxes .. Anita , Bruce and their beautiful dogs ( 3 rough collies) cottage comes highly recommended and we hope to revisit soon x Thankyou

The Hemmel, Old Town Farm

JoeRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
If you are looking for a week off-grid then we would definitely recommend the Hemmel, it was everything we needed and more. Our favourite bits were the views, the peacefulness, and the red squirrels running across the stone wall in the garden! We can’t wait to come back again and explore more of Northumberland. Kate was an excellent host who was extremely helpful and very friendly. We based our plans off her comprehensive local guide folder and filled the rest of the time with the wide variety or board games, books, and DVDs!

Jackdaw's Perch, Holiday Cottage

BeaRating, 5 stars1 week ago
We had a brilliant time at Chris' cottage. It was well positioned for where we wanted to visit and was a cosy and comfortable place to return to of an evening. The cottage was well equipped, there was plenty of hot water and the beds were very comfortable. Beautiful views from the cottage were a bonus. All four of us had a great time and would certainly stay there again.

Luxury Character Holiday Cottage -Village Location

JuliaRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Great location, very peaceful and quiet. surrounded by beautiful rural views, overlooking a very old bridge and river, great walks and friendly locals. Very well placed for getting around by car, the A1 easily accessible. A bus stop across the road too. Lovely pub a few doors away and a trendy coffee shop and bar over the bridge. The cottage was really lovely, clean comfortable and homely with a well equipped kitchen. The beds were extremely comfy with quality white Egyptian cotton bedding, window shutters and blinds in the main bedroom so it was still nice and dark in the morning... slept like a log! The shower over the bath was powerful and the bathroom nice and clean with a powerful fan. ( no window but not stuffy. We had a great stay and didn't want to leave. absolutely perfect!

Sundial Cottage, Northumberland National Park

AlexandraRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a truly wonderful time at Stewart’s cottage, it’s the perfect base after long days out walking and adventuring. We couldn’t wait to get back to the log fires, hot baths and comfy beds. The surroundings are private and peaceful and we felt right at home. The entire cottage is spotlessly clean and has everything you would need during your stay, lots of really nice personal touches too. We were a family of four and felt as though there was lots of space to relax alone or together. Thank you for a beautiful stay, we can’t wait to come back!!

Cosy 2-Bedroom Cottage With Breathtaking Views

LorraineRating, 5 stars4 days ago
Maple Cottage was a delightful place to be for a much needed week of peace & tranquility. It was the perfect base for exploring the beautiful surrounding countryside & felt like a proper home from home. The beds were super comfy & the upstairs living space is the perfect place to chill out after a day out. With high ceilings & lots of light coming in it was spacious & airy while still having that cosy & homely feeling. The kitchen was super well equipped with modern & easy to use appliances & even had a slow cooker. There were thoughtful touches everywhere & Gladys was the perfect host. Fresh milk in the fridge, tea bags & a packet of biscuits goes a long way when you first arrive & it was very clear that Gladys has put a lot of love & care into Maple Cottage to make it feel like a proper home from home. We had a fabulous time & would recommend Bowlees Visitor Centre as the perfect base for short picturesque walks by the river to see some stunning countryside.

We both thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the cottage on the coast, very comfortable and clean! Plenty to do and a huge choice of restaurants and pubs. Also, with me being coeliac I found most places really accommodating and a lot of places had a gluten free section/menu. Would love to go back!

Peaceful and luxurious hideaway in Corbridge

MollyRating, 5 stars3 weeks ago
We had an exceptional stay at Sally and Tim’s Airbnb. They had thought of everything to make our stay as comfortable and luxurious as possible. The house was better than most hotels; it was completely spotless, all amenities were of high quality, and most importantly of all, Sally and Tim had gone above and beyond to add personal touches to make us feel welcome. There was a beautiful array of locally sourced foods when we arrived, as well as a handwritten note and fresh peonies. I would not hesitate to recommend The Old Workshop, and we would love to return.

The Old Post Office

JaneRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
Lovely cottage - traditional on the outside, modern on the inside. Everything was spotless. The furniture, including the beds, is extremely comfortable. A welcome gift of lovely biscuits, crisps, etc was a nice addition. Michael was very quick to respond to messages or questions and dealt very efficiently with our request to change the dates we had booked. We would have no hesitation in recommending the accommodation and would happily stay there again.

Elmhurst holiday cottage in the Tyne Valley

CatherineRating, 5 stars1 month ago
'Elmhurst' is the quintessential English village experience. It is a delightful and extremely comfortable cottage in a quaint little village. The cottage is very nicely and thoughtfully furnished with comfortable sofas and beds. It is very well-equipped and had lots of thoughtful touches including fresh flowers on the table, milk in the fridge, candles and a fire laid in the fireplace. There is a small back patio area where I sat in the spring sunshine and also a small front garden area facing the road. The road is quiet, especially at night. The Bridge End Inn is a nice little pub directly across the road where I chatted with the locals and enjoyed delicious Italian food. Just walking outside the door of the cottage takes you to lovely country walks along the Tyne river and into the woods behind Ovingham. This is a truly lovely place to stay and I'll definitely stay here again. Chris is a friendly, helpful and proactive host - thank you!

The Stable, Bog Mill Cottages, edge of Alnwick

DebraRating, 5 stars2 weeks ago
We had a lovely stay and would have liked to stay longer. The cottage is really nice and is spacious and well done out. Rachel provided everything we needed and was friendly and helpful. We would definitely stay again. The blackout blind in the main bedroom was a real bonus. We were in walking distance of the town and there are lots of things to do there. The cottage is really well balanced between being privately set amongst green fields and near the river (and bird life) but also not far from local amenities, including the best bookshop ever. The market on Saturday was good to visit.
