Hi, We are a family of recreational divers living and working in Boa Vista since 1997. The property is divided into three parts: the nautical center Submarine Center, managed by my husband, The beach bar & restaurant Toca da Garoupa runned by myself, with umbrellas and sunbeds, , and between the two, the beautiful room showed in the pictures.
“We stayed at Rosy and Attila's place for 5 days whilst on vacation on Boa Vista. Both of them are just lovely people. Attila told us a bit of the island and it's culture and we could rent a surfboard from him to try and catch some waves. (He also offers a lot more like stand up paddling, kite surfing, snorkeling...) At Rosy's restaurant right next to the room you could always grab something nice to eat. Rosy was always there when we needed any advice. They also had a dog and a cat who both became good friends with us during our time there The room itself and it's location were simply amazing! We had the beach right in front of your door and the ocean just behind it! What a view to wake up to! The bed was comfortable, the kitchen had everything we needed and there even was a 'sport's area'. Just lovely and decorated with a lot of nice little things. The restaurant and the surf shop both close around 5pm and when the sun goes down around 6pm there soon really is nobody else on the beach nearby. You have the whole thing to yourself. So thank you, Rosy and Attila for having us! And thank you, Boa Vista. Hermann & Birte”
Nice and well decorated, the apartment Polvo is on the ground floor, with one spacious living room with kitchen corner and sofa-bed, terrace, bedroom with double bed (or two single beds) and bathroom. Perfect located directly on Estoril beach, 50 meters from the sea water and few steps from the town's main square.
“There is nothing to fault here. Lovely people with a lovely flat. Very closely located to the beach and a short walk to the town centre. There's a reasonable pizza place around the corner too. Plenty of utensils to cook yourself things as well as a decent fridger and freezer. There are fans to keep things cool . No a/c, you probably won't need it and the local electricity wouldn't cope anyway. We had a power cut one night for a few hours, no biggie and our hosts warned us it may happen. Ayana and Chris are probably the most helpful hosts we've ever encountered They gave us complimentary transfers to and from the airport and were quick to sort the only small problem we had which was our inability to find the on switch for the TV. This was slightly redundant as there are only 3 very poor channels to watch, so it stayed off for the rest of the week. The apartment is serviced so was cleaned twice during our stay. Its a nice area and very safe. Little touches like the room safe and the local mobile all added to the great experience. I have no hesiatation in recommending them and their property to any prospective guests.”
Um belíssimo apartamento com vista para o mar, elegantemente decorado - alia sofisticação e conforto. Próximo do mar (80 metros) e do centro da cidade (600 metros).
“WE LIKED. 5 points out of 5. PRO: 1. Iza is probably the manager of many objects on airbnb and other sites. We - in connection with the cancellation of the ferry to Sal and ordering a departure to Sal two days later - lived in two apartments managed by her. They are similar in the main thing: accuracy, cleanliness, lack of unpleasant surprises, large area. In many ways, the hand of Isa is felt. We opted for in the extreme south of the city. 2. Near the beach (2 minutes on foot), in a clean water zone (you should swim only in the southern part of the city, actually outside the city, in the city - to the north - the water is dirty). 3. Great view from the bright living room, which is not very spoiled by a new building that obscures part of the ocean. 4. The city has a cheap fish market (the usual market is very poor), as well as many Chinese shops (if they can be called shops - from the point of view of the residents of St. Petersburg). Shops are close, you will have to walk to the fish market. 5. A low wave (less than on Sal), but the bottom is a former coral reef, rather a coral table, so you should be careful. 6. Not very noisy (on all islands the problem of poor windows, often a noisy population, the crash of cars on paving stones). CONTRA: 1. In summer, the lack of air conditioning can be a problem. 2. I would like to ask the manager to coordinate the time of visits. 3. The beach in Tarrafal and the town itself (Santiago island) are much better and more pleasant, the beach in Santa Maria (Sal) - with a wave, but a sandy bottom.”
