Our self-contained, double-glazed, fully insulated compact cabin is well appointed. It stands alone on our 3 acre lifestyle property, private from our house with fabulous views to the Remutakas. There is an outdoor dining area with a BBQ. Relax in the ~outdoor bath~ under the stars in front of the wee fire (kindling & wood supplied). We have a kune kune pig (Sophie), puppy (Lucy), choc Lab (Harley), sweet Huntaway (Ruby), donkeys (Phoebe, Anna, Zeb & Lily) & August (cat). All very friendly.

Such lovely hosts , friendly, thoughtful, and really went the extra mile. They checked in with us when the weather turned and brought extra firewood to keep us cosy, plus a surprise some home-baked cookies which absolutely made our day. Felt really well looked after, would definitely stay again!

If you are looking for somewhere nice, peaceful and private to stay, yet close to Central Upper Hutt, then this is the place for you!! From the minute I pulled into the driveway, Sues unit was a welcoming retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city. Perfectly positioned for my stay, it was a short 10-minute drive into the centre of Upper Hutt, and a quick 45-minute drive over the Rimutakas to the beautiful Wairarapa to see my family and friend's. The unit was immaculately presented, very clean and tidy. Sue had left a few little thoughtful touches for me on my arrival, which I really appreciated, and the minute I walked in the door I felt right at home! You can see the love and care she puts into the whole experience of your stay, and as a host she was very easy to communicate with and chat too. I had the most enjoyable experience staying here and highly recommend it to others, I will definitely be returning on my next trip back to Upper Hutt. Thanks SUE !!

This place is super. Real authentic kiwi farm cottage in the middle of a farm. So quiet with wonderful tui song. We also enjoyed a country walk over the farm as agreed by Chris. We slept very well in the comfortable beds. The cottage was perfect for two couples. Thank you Jessica for a brilliant stay.

Wild off-grid nature escape on the south coast

Looking for a secluded, romantic getaway with the best view? Look no further! We had a wonderful weekend away, everything we needed for a pleasant stay. We were lucky to have pretty good weather so got out for a walk, but would have happily sat inside all day watching the wild weather roll in if it was the opposite. If you are visiting in winter recommend packing some warm clothes and ingredients to make hot chocolate so you can sit on the deck and enjoy the stars. Great communicative hosts. Thanks again for having us!
