Many guests rely on fast internet during their trip, especially if they stream video or work remotely. In fact, guests search for Wi-Fi more often than nearly any other amenity on Airbnb.*

Adding fast Wi-Fi to your listing helps it show up in search results. You can verify your connection speed using the Wi-Fi speed test.

Testing your Wi-Fi speed

You’ll need to be at your property to test your Wi-Fi speed. Make sure you’re connected to the Wi-Fi network and logged in to the Airbnb app on an iOS or Android device.

Go to the Listings tab and select the listing you want. Tap Amenities and follow these steps:

  • Tap plus (+) to add Wi-Fi as an amenity, or tap Edit if you’ve already added it.
  • Tap Start test (you may need to grant access to your network).
  • When the results are in, tap Add to listing to display your Wi-Fi details on your listing.

After you add your Wi-Fi speed to your listing, guests will see that your place offers it as an amenity. If your reading is 50 Mbps or above, 'fast Wi-Fi' will also appear as a highlight at the top of your listing.

Understanding your Wi-Fi speed

The Wi-Fi speed test measures connection speeds in megabits per second. Here are the different readings you might get.

  • 50+ Mbps: Fast Wi-Fi. Guests can stream 4K videos and join video calls on multiple devices.
  • 25-49 Mbps: Snappy Wi-Fi. Guests can stream higher-quality 4K videos and join video calls.
  • 7-24 Mbps: Solid Wi-FI. Guests can stream HD videos.
  • 1-6 Mbps: Basic Wi-Fi. Guests can check messages and browse the web.
  • No reading: You either don’t have Wi-Fi or can’t connect. Try rebooting your router or moving to another space on your property.
