How to write an effective title and description
Use clear, concise language to name your service and describe your expertise. This is an opportunity to distinguish your listing, highlight your qualifications and appeal to guests.
Naming your service
Start with a few descriptive words that clearly explain what the service is, who’s providing it and how it’s unique.
Include your first name at the end of your title. Keep your title to 50 characters or fewer.
Examples of great service titles:
- Romantic Paris portraits by Mo
- Lymphatic massages by Sabrina
- Mindful strength building by Korey
Highlighting your expertise
The description of your expertise should complement and elaborate on your title. Explain why you’re uniquely qualified to host your service. Be direct, succinct and specific.
Don’t be shy about sharing your credentials, including career highlights. Avoid repeating information you added earlier in setup. Keep your description to 90 characters or fewer.
Consider these best practices:
- Be conversational.
- Write a full sentence, and avoid fragments and lists.
- Start with what’s most impressive, like an award you’ve received.
- Add context or reinforce your skills.
- Make sure your description is accurate.
- Use first-person point of view.
Examples of great descriptions:
- I cooked at the Michelin-starred Le Bernardin—now I bring fine dining to your home.
- I’m an award-winning photographer whose work has appeared in Elle and The New York Times.
- I learned deep-tissue techniques from the best in Bali and have practiced for 5 years.
