Central Richmond Living in a Victorian Apartment

The apartment is on the first floor (UK 'first floor' meaning it's above the ground-level floor) of a three story house on a very quiet street but only a few minutes walk into the heart of Richmond. Guests can utilize the entire apartment and the contents. I am happy to interface directly with my guests, or I am happy to do it remotely. I live in Richmond, so I can also be on hand if needed. The apartment is an easy five-minute walk from Richmond Centre. A mix of high-class boutiques and brand-name stores are found next to cafes, tea houses, gastropubs, bars, and award-winning restaurants. Transport links connect to central London. All services are safe, clean and efficient. Richmond Station is only a few minutes walk away (where taxis are always available), and provides three services: the traditional London Underground (25 – 30 mins into the centre), The London Overground (25 mins to North London / Hampstead), and regular train services either into Waterloo (20 mins) or out of London to wherever you wish to go! There are buses going south towards Kingston, and north towards Kew Gardens. The 391 and the 65 bus routes will take you smack through the centre of Richmond and Kew all the way across Kew Bridge to Chiswick and beyond. If you are in the mood for a stroll, Richmond Park is 10 minutes walk away and the river is also about 10 minutes - great for a wander along in summer while sampling the pubs and bars. Richmond bridge takes you across to the charming St Margaret's area. The neighbours in the apartments below and above are very nice folks, so please do be mindful of them, particularly late at night when going in and out of the apartment!

Spacious Studio ( ex photo studio) converted to a peaceful spacious self contained one bedroom studio apartment with high ceilings and access to our garden. Next to Richmond Park, Richmond on Thames, East Sheen, near Barnes and Putney, our own gate direct to the park! Two excellent pub/restaurants nearby, supermarkets 10 mins walk away. 25 mins by train to central London from Mortlake Station, about 15-20mins walk away, buses to Richmond are 6 mins walk away and take about 8 mins to town centre.

The main area consists of one room plus ensuite that has been designed to give the space great flexibility and multiple usage. We had a wonderful stay at this studio. Having a separate little place in the garden is a great arrangement. The hosts were around to let us in and to chat. Yet we still had complete privacy. It was so nice to have breakfast out in the garden every day. And the hosts generously provided fixings for breakfast. Amazing! This studio was exactly as described in the listing as was everything we were hoping for. Since I traveled with my parents, I slept on the futon couch. It was very comfortable. We appreciated the location. It was a few minutes walk over to the Kew Gardens tube stop and was easy to get into central London one day or to visit Kew Gardens another day. We also enjoyed the nearby restaurants and appreciated that all were within walking distance. Claudia and her husband were gracious and thoughtful hosts. We feel lucky to have found such a good place to stay. It helped to make our trip to England a memorable one.

We had the most wonderful stay at Annette’s in Richmond. Owner was very kind and helpful, and also just let us enjoy our visit and holiday. Our spaces were clean and we were offered everything we could have needed. Perfect distance from the hub of Richmond, close to the market, tube, and gardens. We cannot say enough good things about this listing (and the owner.)

Perfect for my short stay, I know the area well as I used to live close by. Both Richmond and Kingston Upon Thames are close by. Plenty of restaurants and drinking establishments in Richmond, and in Kingston. Rachel’s property is also close to Richmond park, which I highly recommend if visiting the area.

My stay at Mark's home was a bit unconventional as we were filming a student film there, but we still felt no shortage of hospitality and as though the place was our own for those few days. Truly, nothing can replicate the incredible feeling of looking over the river from any number of spaces throughout the property. It was beautiful and pristine and we felt so grateful to experience it. Myself and others in the crew will be competing with availability on the calendar to book it again and properly enjoy it for a vacation soon! Would highly recommend to anyone and everyone looking for a cozy break from London's city center. Mark was the most incredible host, warm, open, communicative and hospitable from the moment we booked until after we checked out. Thank you for everything and can't wait to come back!

Kate and John are just incredible hosts. Their house is absolutely lovely and located in a very quiet and nice area. It's very easy to go down to Richmond but there is also a good connection to central London. The room is very spacious and super clean and they even provided breakfast. I really had a great time there and definitely recommend it!
