Hidden Pubs of London

Join us for a 3hr historical stumble down the "street of shame". Starting in the shadow of the iconic St.Paul's cathedral, we explore the tiny backstreets and rambling courtyards the ancient City of London is famous for. We follow in the drunken footsteps of literary greats including Dickens, Shakespeare, Pepys & Johnson whilst pausing for a drink in at least 4 of the most historic pubs dating as far back as the 1500's. From discovering art nouveau gems to glamorous Victorian gin palaces we enjoy a variety of pub styles and breweries along the way. It's not a prescriptive tour, so you choose & pay for your drinks along the way. We're here to offer recommendations, and you can often "sip before you sup" with a few tasters on request from the bars along the way. This allows you to indulge as much or as little as you desire! Non-drinkers can soak up the history, and wine & gin-lovers are also well catered for. We usually finish up on the edge of Covent Garden perfect for theatre-land, restaurants and of course more pubs! Other note: - Guests are recommended to be over 18 years of age to enjoy the walk at its best. Anyone lucky enough to look under 25 years of age should bring photo ID - Group sizes of up to 14 participants - Alfie the dog is not always in attendance. Sorry! N.B. In this dance workshop, you’ll learn iconic Caribbean dance moves and wear vibrant costumes that bring the spirit of Carnival alive. • We’ll begin with introductions, warm-up exercises, and stories about the rich history of this cultural celebration. • Next, I’ll teach you some traditional dance moves. As our live DJ spins Caribbean songs from the past and present, you’ll whine, squat, twerk, and twirl. • You’ll have a chance to try on authentic Carnival costumes, wings, and headdresses. Once we’re all dressed up, we’ll practice your newfound moves with a mini Carnival dance party! There will be plenty of time for photos in your Carnival costumes. Horse riding near London with lunch

At Hooksgreen horses we teach you how to ride using your voice (no kicking or pulling)!. Happy to collect from/deliver you back to Baldock Station. Over a welcoming drink and a snack (please arrive hungry!) we discuss what your goals are for the day plus try to pick your ideal equine partner. Having signed a disclaimer you’ll meet your horse and bond with him/her using grooming, horse yoga and carrots! We normally divide the riding (bridleways /country lanes) into two sessions of about 40/45 min divided by home made lunch or supper with wine but it could be 1.5hrs solid riding and eat before or afterwards, depending on weather and fitness levels.. We can go as slowly as you like, you won’t be pushed out of your comfort zone! Forgive us in advance for putting the horses’ happiness a very close second to your safety :-). We also offer an introduction to Mindful Riding which tends to suit intermediates who’ve come with novice partners. Or longer sessions incorporating a pub stop. Please ask if you’d like something tailor made, or different times, we are flexible :-). We limit this to 6 people per week but please check in with us first if you weigh over 80kg or have children below 12. We also offer multi-day immersive residential (own romantic cottage) experiences plus optional daily yoga culminating in a 5hr ride with pub lunch, more details on our hooksgreen website.

We will explore 30+ of London’s major landmarks & the best of British foods. This will give you a good idea of the history & tastes of Europe’s best-loved city. After the walking tour, we will stop for an hour & taste the best British foods in one of London's oldest food markets: Borough market. It's a bustling hub of smells and flavours. Foods you will try include: Fish & Chips (mushy peas/gravy), Ale, Pie & Mash (gravy) and a world-famous dessert... At the start, we will head through Green Park to Buckingham Palace, where we'll watch the world-famous Changing of the Guard ceremony (if it is on). We then head to Westminster. Sights we'll see along the way include Parliament Square, St James Palace, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben & the Houses of Parliament. We then go to the London Bridge area, where we'll see Shakespeare’s Globe, the Shard, HMS Belfast, Tower Bridge & the Tower of London. Plus many other sights!
