House holiday rentals in Roa Island

The caravan we stayed at was lovely. We were welcomed with a box of chocolates which was a nice gesture and the kids were very excited about haha We had forgotten our phone chargers but luckily there was a charger at the caravan. The TV had netflix and there was WiFi available. The hosts local guide was brilliant and we did most things recommended including Williamson park, Lancaster castle, St Patrick's chapel at Heysham Head and Morecambe which we would highly recommend to others staying. We had taken our own t.bags, coffee, sauces etc but these were also left at the caravan so if people forgot things then they were available. Would stay here again :)

We had an amazing stay! The cottage was just as described and in the perfect location so we hardly had to use the car at all and were able to walk to Windermere, Bowness and Brockhole with our two girls ( 13 and 8). The use of the nearby pool was an added bonus after a day in the mountains. We’ll definitely be back! 😀

This place was beyond our expectations. Immaculately presented, super clean, tidy, jaw dropping views. I can't fault it in any way and I can't rate it highly enough. Will definately look to return in the future. Stunning!

The lodge was fabulous, really enjoyed our stay. I even picked up a couple of decor ideas. Had a lovely time feeding the ducks, swans and other wildlife, very relaxing. Shops and amenities easy to get to by car, lovely restaurants around the area. Would absolutely recommend.

House was as described, beautiful setting with wonderful views of the hills and mountains. Rooms are spacious with comfy beds and bathrooms are nicely finished with good showers. Kitchen is a good size and has all required implements. A great location for exploring the central lakes and soaking up all that Ambleside has to offer.

I'd stay at Jackie's place again whenever I next visit no question. Good price, and the place is exactly as she's described. And whenever I messaged her she always responded back to me within 30mins at most which is excellent

Our family had a lovely stay at Burrowbank at the end of the summer holiday. The house is fantastic with all the facilities you could ask for. The kids loved the swings and most of all the pool, while the covered (heated) BBQ area meant evening meals outside watching the sunset. Great location and setting, very private and we would definitely come again and recommend to others. Martyn and Christine were very helpful and went the extra mile (even posting my daughter’s disposable camera that she left behind). Can’t think of any negatives and we made some great/happy memories.

We did a lot of different activities in the Lake district but the house was the highlight of our trip, we’d have been happy just to spend the whole time in the house. The house has been designed to get the most out of the views and the decor is amazing too, it is really clean and feels brand new. I’d say it is definitely worth paying a bit more to stay here over anywhere else in the local area, and we will be returning at some point in the future, we miss the house already. Also Team Laik and the owners are all fantastic, communicate well and make everything easy, so if you haven’t used Airbnb before I’d go with these, you can use the messaging system on the app and get a response almost straight away should you have any questions.

This house was absolutely perfect for our stay - a warm, cosy house with an excellent stock of DVDs and games to keep us entertained, and we were spoilt for choice in terms of nearby pubs and restaurants. Communication was prompt and friendly - we really can’t recommend this property enough.

stunning cottage nothing around but was central for most of lakes area no power just after we arrived whole area down but not a problem if u want quiet comfy stay this is place beautiful and would highly recommend x

We had a wonderful stay. The cottage is very private with a fantastic view from the living room. Great location allowing easy access to nearby pubs and to the ferry. We were surrounded by wildlife, and particularly enjoyed seeing the family of baby rabbits hop around the cottage garden each evening.

Lovely clean house, with everything you need for a comfortable stay. Only tiny comments were, it would've been great to have more glasses etc. for 4 people staying and a freezer option would be handy. Everything else was great though.

we had a lovely 4 nights in the Thomas Gray House. Such beautiful settings. we took some of the recommended pubs and restaurants and were not disappointed. the house did feel very cosy and a home from home. we will be visiting this estate again.

We really enjoyed our stay - close to Ulverston, the Priory and many places we aimed to see during our visit. Lindsay corresponded quickly. The house is very comfortable, very clean and nicely decorated as in the photos - we wished we could have stayed longer. Thank you Lindsay. :)

This is just a stunning place - situated in a beautiful valley with views of the far mountains. House was full of character, all amenities we wanted were there, and just loved being able to walk from the house.

The house was so beautiful and ticked every box. Scenery, peace and quiet, lots of space to celebrate with friends. Kitchen well equipped we wanted for nothing. We loved the sauna and outside jacuzzi and a beautiful dining room to dine. The house was immaculate and beds so comfortable. Would visit again in a heart beat. We had a wonderful stay at Andrew’s place. The house is full of charm, combining historic character with modern comforts. Everything was spotless, well-equipped, and thoughtfully arranged. The location was peaceful yet well-connected, making it a great base for exploring the Lake District. Check-in was smooth with clear instructions, and the Wi-Fi worked perfectly. Andrew was responsive and made us feel very welcome. Highly recommend this home to anyone visiting the area — we’d definitely stay again!

We stayed a week in Danes Court. It’s a spacious, characterful, and very peaceful Victorian Lodge. Well equipped with good WiFi in the main rooms and TVs in the lounge and bedrooms. It’s well equipped and comfortable, and we slept well in the king size bed. We enjoyed sitting out in the afternoons (weather permitting), enjoying the peace and quiet and flutter of the birds. Danes Court is easily accessed from a very quiet road. Kendal, Windermere, and Ambleside are all within 30 minutes drive, and there are plenty of excellent restaurants/pubs within 10-20 minutes drive through beautiful countryside.

We loved our stay and the lodge was beautiful, a home from home, with so many thoughtful touches to make our time special. We loved the area and found so much to do, even in the rain. We looked forward to relaxing in the evening outside on the decking watching the sheep and lambs. A truly relaxing break would highly recommend Ingleton and the Airbnb. Five stars for everything, one of our favourite Airbnb stays.

This little cottage was exactly how it was pictured and described. It was absolutely beautiful and the area was so quiet and exactly what I was looking for. It’s a perfect place to get away from all the hustle and bustle of city life, which is what I was after. Definitely worth a visit and definitely worth the money. I was gutted to be going home.
