The apartment was nice, in a well location and comfortable. I had problems with the air conditional, that didnt work (and we were there in the summer!), and there's a construction site very close to the apart, That I was not informed before. But Caterina really tried help me and refunded a part of the money for all these problems.

A lovely little apartment, and exactly what we needed. A couple of minutes from the promenade and sea, and close enough to walk to Old Town and the port.

Let's see, there are good things and less good. Good things: - position: close to the beach (Promenade des Anglais ), - relatively close to the historic old town (Vieux Nice) - acceptable for short visits (up to one week ) if you travel alone or with your partner - flexible host - Caterina kindly agreed for me to leave 2 h after the said checkout - which was very appreciated and I am very thankful for it. - there's internet which is always helpful for small administrative chores. - a washing machine if one needs to do laundry, I didn't need it since I've stayed only 5 days but it was reassuring to know there's one. - also I'd like to give some shout out of appreciation to Caterina's host , Danielle, who was indeed very helpful. Less good: - the neighbourhood: is on a main road which is a huge work in progress - they are building a tramway line , if I understood correctly - full of big trucks, fences, construction materials for at least 2 km ,very crowded - this makes driving around hectic , very narrow lanes and trying to find a parking space is a real challenge close to impossible. I suppose this work in progress thing will last at least in 2017. - the inventory papers I was given to sign in blind (a never ending list) : I didn't quite appreciate I am given to sign in-blind a long list (4 pages A4 at least) of the inventory of the house. Personally, when in holidays, the last thing I want to do is make invetories and cross checks. I signed : trusting that what is on that list is indeed present in the house. But that's not necessarily reassuring - generally speaking ... - another thing which I discovered while I almost injured my knee is : the stand of the shower crane is broken and so it was "fixed" with black scotch tape - which made the shower process very intresting :) meaning I discovered it the hard way. Good thing I have good reflexes ;) . I think an upgrade of the shower appliances would be in order. Cheers! All in all: it's an okay place for a short stay . In the actual state I give a 3 out of 5 stars.

Response from Caterina:
Hi Daniela, thanks for your very detailed review. I am sorry that unfortunately during your stay there was works on the tramway that will connect the airport to the port in a few minutes. There will also be a stop in front of home and this will be an advantage for you guests and for us. Fortunately, the works on the road are in the terminal phase ( they started a year and half ago)and the view from the terrace will improve. Even the promenade is a yard ... all of Nice at this time is an open-air yard ... I really hope the city will be improved by all of these hardships ! I had to put a list of inventors because unfortunately it often happened that many things disappeared from home: glasses (maybe the guests broke them), cutlery and even the hairdryer that I had to buy twice. The problem is not the cost of things that disappear, but if the guests do not tell me, I may not notice it right away and next guests will not have the full equipped kitchen/apartment . Unfortunately, this list is the result of incorrect behavior of other guests and I had to identify a form of protection. If you have another idea I can take it into consideration. Finally the shower, I also answered in private on this topic ... I did not fix the shower with the scotch (it is obvious that it does not repair with the scotch that does not resist under the jet of water!) And I didn't even know that someone had put it ... not even Danielle knew anything ... maybe guests broke it, they thought about fixing it without saying ... this confirms what I said before ... many guests don't warn me about things that can happen or that they can break and so they create a problem with who comes next. I'm not based in Nice and I have to delegate some things... but I will take care to solve these things as soon as possible.

Caterina's airbnb was great. Very clean, cozy, and a big balcony. It was a good value and the lady she has taking care of it for her, Danielle, was awesome! It was just two blocks from the beach. I would give 5-stars but it wasn't in the best area of town and we had to wake up early so Caterina could wash our sheets and towels for her next guests. However, she was very friendly about it! I would stay there again if I had the chance.

Response from Caterina:
Thanks Brett for your review. I'm little disappointed and I think it should be more honest to say why you woke up 'early' at 10.00 am. You asked to stay until 4.30 pm without paying any extra fees and we accepted (our check out is at 11.00 am). Unfortunately, in order to provide the apartment clean for the following customers, we kindly asked you to give the bedding in the morning to Danielle, our collaborator, just to organize better the work. Moreover, the beach is very close to the apartment (100 meters crossing the street and the gas station "Avia") and the pedestrian zone (downtown) is far approximately 800 meters (10-15 min by walking), details that you could check and measure on (SENSITIVE CONTENTS HIDDEN) map. The old town is after the downtown.Best Regards.

The circumstances which leads me to charming Patricia (my excellent rating will be found at the end !!! ) were like a horror story, that you should read, to know more about airbnb. SIX MONTHS BEFORE I booked an apartment for a 10 days stay - “Plein Coeur de Nice à 2mn de la mer” (17 Rue de France) - from a host called Shivan Mavaddat. The day before my departure - at late evening 9:00 p.m. – TEN hours before my plane started – “Shivan” mumbled – not to understand - some words onto my answering machine and hanging up IMMEDIATELY. On airbnb I found a message: “The electricity in the ap. does not work, an electrician will not come before Wednesday (that means FIVE days later), I can’t receive you now”. The same moment I sent three messages to him – they remained without reaction. I tried phone calls, but NO Shivan lift the phone. I used the emergency number of Airbnb and they said: “We’ll try to find something else for you” – “BUT MY PLANE WILL START IN 10 HOURS” – “Sorry, we can’t do anything, because the host did not cancel your booking” – “Can I search by myself” – “No, call again tomorrow” This discussion with airbnb went on more than one hour !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! At 11 p.m. I found the apartment of Patricia by myself. She confirmed (at night!) at THE SAME MOMENT! Her comfortable apartment is at 144 Rue de France, that’s just a 10 minutes walk from Musée Massená, and you have best connections with many busses from the corner of Rue de France / Boulevard Grosso or - if you pass through the AVIA gas station, opposite from the house - you are in 2 minutes at the bus stops of the "Promenade" with several lines (also no. 23 which goes to the airport in just 10 minutes). Patricia’s apartment is at the third floor of a very well-kept, regularly cleaned new building. Patricia’s friendly & cooperative helpers - Terri and Giancarlo - were always at my side when I needed something. Also the contact with Patricia (by phone & messages) was excellent. The apartment (extra bedroom and big balcon) is very clean, very well equipped, the bathroom and the mattress are absolutely outstanding. The next big supermarkets is LIDL, it is a 5 minutes walk at Rue Dante, or U SUPER, an 8 minutes walk along Rue de France, 85-87. MANY THANKS AGAIN to Patricia, to the nice Internet expert Giancarlo and to Terri. Jens

I stayed in Caterina's apartment for 1 month. The location is brilliant and so strategic . It is 2 minutes walk from the beach ( Promenade des Anglais), 15 minutes walk from the old town of Nice & there are all the kind of stores you need close by. In addition, the bus stop with several bus lines (including the one which goes directly to the airport) is just 2 steps away . The flat is nice, clean, with a lot of light and a big terrace. As for the host, Caterina, what a nice person! I did not meet Caterina personally but I hope I will one day. She is very kind, polite and professional. She took contact with me as soon as I made the reservation and kept me up to date through emails, text messages and she was really prompt with her replies. She helped me a lot in settling me in the flat and gave me so many good tips during the all month. I will definitely be staying here the next time I visit Nice and I highly recommend this flat. Everything was perfect! Thank you so much Caterina!!
