I have it listed for 2 people but really it is a 4 place house. I prefer to rent to a family or good quite friends. A quiet, clean place to relax and soak in beautiful Costa Rica. Two minute walk to the beach. I also have a car that I may rent out.

The space

Casa Wincito is an ideal location for travellers who want to relax in a quiet neighbourhood and experience Portrero like you're a local.

This listing is for the entire house (approximately 1,500 square feet), which can accommodate anywhere between 1-6 people. It is ideal for families or even a small group of friends travelling together. You'll have use of two bedrooms (with ensuite baths and private verandas), living room, kitchen, main floor powder room, laundry, yard and a secure garage to park a vehicle. No need to worry about bed linen, towels, soap, etc.

You'll find Casa Wincito particularly comfortable with air conditioning and both hot and cold water for showers!

The kitchen includes basic dishes and cookware, microwave, stovetop, oven and fridge. Laundry facility on-site includes both a washer and dryer as well as a clothesline.

Wifi is included - you'll receive the password in the house manual after booking, as well as some helpful directions on how to find Casa Wincito if you're a first-timer to the area. The drive from Liberia's International Airport takes about 1 hour, or it is 4.5 hours from San Jose. If you want zero stress upon arrival, please let me know to arrange a friendly taxi service to bring you straight to the doorstep (cost is approximately $100 USD for taxi-van).

The Portrero coastline is only a two-minute walk from the house. Local amenities for groceries are not far and are accessible by car or foot.

Very spacious home, great for 2 couples, each bedroom even has its own bathroom! Good value. Huge kitchen, great for meal prep with several working at once! Central location to many amazing restaurants/great beaches, if you have a car. Friendly neighbor, Captain Tom, shared restaurant recommendations and called the key person for us since Norm was out of the country during our stay. Furnishings dated, but functional. Had a couple of plumbing issues-hopefully these will be addressed before the next guests. Fortunately, there is a laundry (bring your own soap)!

We stayed at Norm's house for almost three weeks during Christmas and New Year Day season and we loved it! So far this is the best dwelling we stayed at via airbnb. The other reviewers have already described the house and location in detail. I can only repeat that you do have to rent a car and bring your GPS to enjoy your stay. Norm, fellow Canadian and neighbor, was easy to communicate with by email. He was kind enough to arrange an airport pickup (US$100) by a local cab service owner whom he trusts. The house is about an hour and 15 minutes from the airport. Norm was there (in his half of this duplex) for our first three days and gave us some good tips. His cleaning girl, named Yaritza, was our contact person after he left. She is very nice but does not speak English. Being able to speak passable Spanish really helped as most Ticos (not in the tourism industry) do not speak English. I would recommend Norm's house without hesitation.

Norm was out of the country when we arrived, but the check in process was very smooth. Surprisingly we had no issues finding the place. The directions sounded a little crazy, but if you have GPS and can get yourself in the general area, Norms directions are spot on. The house is pretty nice and staying there is very comfortable. There are some great beaches, restaurants, and bars very close to the house. We really enjoyed our time here.

Nice place, lots of space, quie neighboroughed, and a warm welcome. Everything you need is there. Great shower with hot water! Point of attention: the house is not very cosey..... The village of Potrero isn't a place of great interest: you need a car to get to the villages nearby for a meal in a more nice athmosphere. But great as a base to go around in the area. Good price for what you get. I would recommend it to families with children.

Amazing pace to stay! Everything was clean. The 2 rooms are spacious each with their own full bathroom with hot showers. The kitchen was fully loaded. The AC works very well. The back yard has a line to hang your wet clothes and there is a washer/dryer. Nicest place we stayed at during our 8 days in Costa Rica. Few minutes walk from beach with gorgeous sunsets. Norm is flexible and easy to work with when scheduling and modifying our reservation. There are several local favorites. His neighbor, Capt Tom, was helpful as well on arrival.

Everything worked out great and we had a wonderful time. I have lived in CR for over 10 years and rarely are things as advertised. This place met all our needs and was in great location to Beach and Town. Will definitely be back in few months. Norm was out of country, but put is in touch with Carmen who was very sweet and helpful. Highly recommend
