Get away to a country retreat in a converted 19th C barn at the edge of the Blue Mountain Nature Reserve. Exquisitely designed and hand crafted with artisanal detailing throughout. Clawfoot tub, huge views of the woods. Only 50 minutes from the city.
The Barn has been exquisitely designed and hand crafted with artisanal detailing everywhere. The lofted ceiling, skylights and lancet windows frame views of gardens/woods. The great room features a Danish wood burning stove, slate floors with radiant heat, granite counters, new stainless appliances, wide board oak floors hand hewn from the property's trees and a circular red oak staircase in the shape of a double helix. A brilliant crystal chandelier casts rainbows around the sunlit room, and original, whimsical lighting fixtures of hand blown glass/hammered and woven copper delight the eye. Enjoy a leisurely soak in the claw-foot slipper tub downstairs or shower under the rainhead. Upstairs you feel as if you are taking an outdoor shower in a tree house. Bathrooms feature slate floors, hand-crafted live-edge walnut counters, and marble walls.
Relax outdoors on your private patio, take a walk around our 5-acre property and its many gardens, or go for a hike, or a mountain bike ride in our “backyard," the 1,538 acre Blue Mountain Preserve. After a 10-minute walk you can be at the top of Mt. Spitzenberg to enjoy views of the Hudson River.
All this is within an easy commute to NYC from the Croton-on-Hudson (7 min. away) Do you remember the sound of silence? Come and be transported.
When you rent the Barn, you will have a private patio and access to the gardens and wooded areas our five-acre property as well as the Blue Mountain Nature Preserve, which is adjacent to the property. Beautiful views everywhere.

No smoking in the house.
I like to work with computers and to design and build things. My Dad and I built the Barn together, using hand hewn wood from our trees for the interior. I enjoy working with copper and blowing glass and made most of the lighting fixtures for the house. I also like to cook and will be happy to make you breakfast if I'm not at work on my day job--constructing sets for films. You might also get to meet my Mom and Dad, who are avid gardeners and are often here working on the property. Mom is also a botanical artist.
