Walk everywhere! Our c. 1940 apartment is among the closest accommodations to the Walnut St. Pedestrian bridge, Aquarium, shops and restaurants on Frazier. (3/10 mi.)
Walk everywhere or catch the free trolley close by. Get a taste of Downtown Chattanooga! Aretha Frankenstein's restaurant (Diners, Dives & Drive-Ins) is literally right up the street, a one minute walk.

Seasonal notes: Labor Day weekend, three night minimum. Iron Man weekends, three night minimum.

The space

You really can walk anywhere! Our quaint and simply furnished 1940s apartment has charming details in its brick structure, old oak trees, wood foyer, built in glass cabinetry and close proximity to the city. We are on the top floor of a four unit complex, one third of a mile from the blue walking bridge. When you step out onto the street you can see the Walnut Street Bridge. The apartment has new carpet, soothing paint colors, one bedroom, one bathroom, eat in kitchen, and living room with two sofas and a reading chair. Our guests love the uncluttered feel. One sofa folds down to make a double bed, but is probably only big enough for one adult. Sheets are provided for futon and sofa, and our sofa is quite comfy.

There is an original cast iron drainboard sink in the kitchen, and lots of charm. Breakfast by the sunny kitchen window is lovely. Aretha Frankenstein's is literally across the street, and if you don't eat breakfast there, well, that will be unfortunate. Delicious!
As with many spaces this age, the apartment is simple and quaint. If your requirement is new and luxury finishes, this may not be your vibe.

Our guests have found our space "charming", as do we. Our street is in an older, but hip and trendy residential area, with tree-lined streets, old stone carriage houses, and quirky shops and eateries scattered nearby. There are runners, bikers, walkers around a lot, as the city is just steps away.

The apartment will be very clean and comfortable with towels and linens. However, remember that this apartment does not have a dishwasher.

The apartment sleeps four`comfortably, with a queen in the master and a foldout futon in the living room, as well as a sofa.. We will not accept reservations for more than four people, and the space is more ideal for a family of four; two adult couples would be too crowded :)

Restaurants close : Aretha Frankenstein's (you must go), Taco Mamacita, Milk and Honey, Taco Nooga, Sushi Nabe, Stone Cup Coffee, Spill the Beans Coffee Truck, Totto Sushi, Beast and Barrell , Revelator Coffee, Poblanos, Foodworks, Root.

Go have a massage right down the street at Massage Envy, literally at the end of our street where Tremont meets Frazier Avenue. Or have a day of beauty after your massage, by visiting Aveda Bridge Salon. Coolidge Park is nearby and the locals hang out there by the river. Pack a picnic lunch and see what Chattanooga is really all about hanging out at Coolidge and going to Clumpies for ice cream, or Tapas at Terra Nostra. We have mostly local restaurants nearby, so you can really experience what Chattanooga is doing with cuisine.

Need to work out? Workout Anytime is walkable and you can pay for a daily visit there or do the same at the local YMCA nearby.

Crossing the walking bridge, you will be close to the Tennessee Aquarium, the Chattanooga riverfront, The Hunter Museum, and the artist district, with many shops and museums and restaurants.

Chattanooga has recently added an excellent bike path within the city that you can access. We also have a bikeshare program with kiosks throughout the city. Use your credit card to unlock a bike for the day and ride to wherever you like and drop off the the kiosk most convenient for you. Ride too far? Drop the bike and Uber back to the cozy apartment or take the free Shuttle with multiple stops throughout Downtown .

You will love seeing everything that Chattanooga has to offer and then some! Enjoy the apartment upon your return.

Pet policy below.

When you consider Chattanooga, you may want to research the part of town you stay in; Northshore Chattanooga is more residential, and high rent- high property values due to the excellent schools. It is an area where you can comfortably walk around day or night, near quaint shops on Frazier Avenue, a Publix Grocery less than a mile, and bike trails and restaurants.

Pets considered occasionally with discussion about barkers and length of time pet would be unattended. Chattanooga is very dog friendly and so are we, as we realize the majority of people consider their pets part of their family and our thoughtful and considerate one bringing their pets.
There is a firm $25 non-refundable pet fee per night. If you do not want to pay this fee, please leave your pet with a loved one or kennel.

Guest access

We will arrange to leave you a key or meet you. You will have private access to our apartment, and we will have minimal contact, if any, with you. We are close by if there's anything you should need. We lead busy lives and are non-intrusive, but are available with local knowledge to help steer you to the most memorable vacation ever!!

Interaction with guests

Minimal interaction with our guests. We are working professionals downtown, so we are available if a need should arise.

Other things to note

We have wifi and Apple Tv,as well as network stations.

We dont have a dishwasher, well, except you. Again, original 1930's drainboard sink .Efficient and adorable, yes. Hopefully you're not cooking up a storm on vacation AND Chattanooga is for foodies. Walk anywhere!! However, you'll find colanders, garlic press, pots and pans, basic utensils if you decide to venture to Whole Foods and whip up a quiet meal here.

Home is adequately heated and cooled in all weather conditions.

This apartment is typically very quiet and comfortable.

We loved staying at this cute little apartment! Very walkable neighborhood, we enjoyed the hosts' recommendations, and we were very comfy. The vintage feel of the place and the neighborhood adds a lot of character to a trip. The hosts made sure to carefully set our expectations about the space and we were delighted with our stay.

Relaxing place off the main drag of "North Shore" but easy enough of a walk that you could still amble down and wander around the food bars and Coolidge Park fairly easy. Super close to Aretha Frankensteins which was a fun breakfast place and apparently featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives for Chattanooga. The apartment was very calming and could easily work for a couple or a family of 4 like they stated but any more and there would definitely not be room. My only issue was there was not a floor towel or anti slip carpet provided for getting out of the tub. The kitchen is very basic so don't expect to be cooking extensively however it was perfect for keeping leftovers and hiking water cool when I needed it. Apple TV was perfect to log into my account and watch a movie when my aching feet needed time off!

We enjoyed a relaxing stay at this location! John and Teresa are great communicators and respond very quickly. They provided insight to some of the local happenings during our stay too! The kitchen, although basic, still had everything we needed. This was perfect for the three of us; very cozy. It is also close to great restaurants and shops as well as the aquarium.
